This place used to be great back in the day. Now, not so much. Trust me when I say I don’t have high expectations when it comes to delivered Chinese food. But dang I at least expect it to be edible. The gruel they delivered to me tonight was bland, bland, bland. Nothing we ordered had any flavor. The crab rangoon was blech and not even crispy. The only saving grace was that the broccoli had not been cooked to a pulp. It still had a bit of crunch. I will not order from them again. Next time I’m stuck at home with an empty fridge and no car, I’ll just order a pizza.

I tried the Chinese food here for the 1st time in quite a while and was really disappointed. I got the garlic chicken and the sauce was the consistency of molasses with no flavor or spice. There were small pieces of sautéed chicken and a few big pieces of breaded and fried chicken but overall not much chicken. The egg rolls were terrible and tasted like cardboard. The only thing that was pretty good was the hot and sour soup. I used to order it all the time and it WAS great but that’s gone downhill as well.

It’s funny this place advertises mainly as chinese food and all I’ve had was the pizza. Maybe it should dedicate itself to the pizza because it’s awesome. My husband ordered 3 kinds of pizza for my lil bros birthday. One was shrimp with peppers, the other was meat lovers, and the last was supreme. They were all delicious! We ordered another shrimp pizza for dinner this past weekend and it was still just as good. We will keep coming back for the pizza!

This place gives you plenty of bang for your buck, however the past few times, the food quality seems to have gone downhill a bit. It’s worth trying again but not to sure about the pizza they serve alongside the Chinese. I wonder if I can get a specialty pizza — deep dish egg drop something or thin crust with Alfredo and and crab ragoons?

Just waited over an hour for my food and it was garbage… This place was amazing years ago and now I’d rather eat the dirt outside… Avoid at all costs

My husband and I have been going to this Chef Chu for a long time now and we still love it just as much. I have yet to find another Chinese place that I like as much as I do Chef Chu. I like that they deliver, that is pretty convenient! They are also super nice and friendly. They have a quiet and casual ambiance that is relaxing and peaceful. They have really good Broccoli and Beef Fried Rice, both the broccoli and the beef was so tender! I love to also get the Sweet and Sour Chicken with Fried Rice. This usually ends up being two meals for me which is okay with me! I could go on and on with the yummy items that they have on the menu but those really are my two favorite! It always comes with egg rolls but I will add in an order of Spring Rolls as well! They have killer Sugar Biscuits. This is definitely not the place to go while dieting. This is always where I want to go on a bad day or if we are celebrating something(like payday lol) they really hit the spot every time!

We order it often for delivery. Quick and easy. I usually get Moo Goo Gai Pan or Lo Mein — both are really good! Kids get the sweet and sour chicken. Always tons left over.

Rule #1 never order chinese food from a place that sells pizza also and vice versa. The food is okay at best but that may be a generous description. Ordered fried won tons and got burnt wonton skins. Sweet and sour sauce tasted like sweetened ketchup. Fried rice seemed to be minute rice with soy sauce in it. The mongolian beef was served with brown gravy really? General tso’s chicken was soggy and overly sweet with no hint of heat. The people working didn’t seem to bright either. They kept calling for one person which I couldn’t hear the name clearly so I asked who they were calling and the girl rudely said«I’ve been calling you for 10 minutes.» I asked her again what the name was, she told me and I told her no you didn’t because that isn’t me. So most of the bad reviews are accurate. I will not waste my money here again.

I was hankerin’ some Chinese food, and looking for a quick take out. That in itself, narrowed the field. My friend recommended this place, and it was right across the street. Good to go. I ordered Beef with Snow Peas, steamed rice and an egg roll. Pretty basic. Got my «to go» sack several minutes later(I take that as, they are not nuking it, but actually heating it with conventional methods. Good Sign ?) I only live a few minutes away(less than 2 miles). I get home and plate my food. Rice is NOT steamed, but more like yesterdays leftover, and half assed fried. NOT what I ordered. No chopsticks, only one small packet of Soy Sauce(Luckily I have these things at home). A nondescript piece of some kind of chicken was also thrown in the take-out.(Again, not ordered or eaten). Ok, enough about their bad service, get to the food. Mediocre is giving it much more credit than it deserves. ’nuff said. And I must add that the other side of their business/restaurant is pizza. Same space, just two different signs on the outside of the building. WARNING !!! Throw your money out your car window, don’t waste it here.

DONOTORDERTHECHICKENFRIEDRICE! We ordered chicken fried rice there we normally get veggie fried rice, and when it was delivered I noticed the rice had kind of a funky smell to it, the TV was on so the lights were out but I though well Chinese food doesn’t always smell great, so I began to eat it and what I thought as white fresh chicken was rubbery and gummy in my mouth and tasted awful! I turned on the light and to my shocking surprise the chicken was dark brown damn near black, I don’t know what kind of low grade poor sickly chicken they used for our plates but we will never be ordering from them again. They used to have the best crab Rangoon you could find because their breads were filled wall to wall with cream cheese, now it’s just s dab of cheese in a big spacey fried bread wall you get more bread and grease than cream cheese. I DONOTRECOMMENDTHISPLACEAFTER8pm

I should have known not to eat there after I heard a customer tell the owners that the broccoli was«Sour». The lady came to his table with another dish, freshly made and told him the broccoli wasn’t «Sour», it was«BITTER». Don’t both of those words mean«Not Tasteful»??? Anyway, I was hungry. So I ordered Shrimp Fried Rice. It was HORRIBLE! This shrimp were teenie tiny baby«shrimp». The. rice was chewy, then they give you this piece of fried«meat» and a nacho chip on the side. Wth? I will NEVER be returning here. The floors were FILTHY. One of the drivers came in from delivering food, walked right in the kitchen and picked up two plates to go serve a «Dine-In» family. It was sad. this place needs an upgrade!!! Or new management. Geesh!

Will Never Go There AGAIN! Phoned in an order.(Egg Drop Soup and a PooPoo Platter) Gave ample time, got there and it wasn’t ready. No problem, I paid for it and waited for my order. This was lunch time. Time is money. Wanted to pick up some Chinese and bring it back to my desk. After waiting 25 mins, I went to the counter and asked for a refund. The girl says my order has been sitting there, «I didn’t know you were waiting!». Really? I was cool, calm and professional. The girl never apologized or tried to make it right. Only commented to me that my refund would probably take a week to process on my credit card. What happened to good old fashioned Customer Service? If you make an error, make it right! Good Luck to your business Chef Chu. I will not be contributing to your sales efforts!

Pretty solid Chinese food delivery in the North Dallas area. Cheap and fast. I’d give them 3.5 stars if I could. Better than a 3 not quite a 4.

Love Chef Chu!!! I eat it almost everyday. The Chinese food is wonderful! The food comes in big portions and along with cheap prices! Sesame chicken is my absolute favorite and comes with healthy broccoli. Classic Chinese dishes are delicious! Like: orange chicken, beef and broccoli, fried rice and noddles!!! They also have amazing appetizers, crab ragoon would definitely be my favorite, chicken sticks and egg rolls, also egg drop soup with the noodle crackers!!! Deserts are tasty too, I always get honey fried bananas! There’s a lot more on the menu include pizza express along with pasta, subs, and pizza, and salads, and cakes! I love Chef Chu, it’s truly great that you’re around!

First time & last time. New to Dallas and this made me not want orange chicken ever again. Maybe they were mad that I ordered 15 minutes until closing but in my clinic, we stay with the last patient even if we closed 35 minutes ago. Very disappointing, but I guess they really taught us never to order late, or again.

The food was pretty good but the restaurant was so dirty. My girlfriend and I had gone in last night and discovered that half of the tables in the restaurant were messy with plates, cups and silverware still lefts on them. There were at least 5 people working in the back on the kitchen, would it be so much to ask someone to go to the front of house and wipe down the tables and take the dishes back to get washed? After seeing this it makes me wonder how bad the back of house is??? I do not think I will be venturing to this place anytime soon. Tip: If you do want to try their food despite this review, order it for delivery so you never have to walk into their filthy restaurant. Décor: The walls are covered with old signage for the menu which should be on one wall where you order not plastered on 4 walls. Looks like they have not done any remodeling or updates since the restaurant opened. Big Thumbs Down!

I’ve seen this place as I passed by trinity a few times, but never really had the urge to stop in till last night! My boyfriend was craving some Thai food from banana leaf on Preston, but we decided to go here instead because of the time of night. He got the combination noodles which was pretty descent and I got the chicken teriakyi with fried rice. Usually when we go to places like this he always chooses the best entrée to eat and I end up with very bland food. My chicken wasn’t awful, but I wish I asked for noodles instead of rice. Next time I will definitely get noodles & take photos …

I wouldn’t waste your time. To be honest it kind of freaked me out because I thought I was walking into a pizza parlor until I realized that not only do they sell Chinese food, but pizza as well. Weird. The only reason I’d give this place two stars is because the prices are VERY reasonable for the amount of food you get. We got the pork lo mein and general tso’s chicken. Never. Again.
