As you walk into this half bakery half restaurant you get the the pleasant smell of fresh baked goods taking over your senses. The staff will greet you with a pleasant smile as you look over what you want to eat. The authentic ambiance along with the healthy serving of food makes this place a must eat When it comes to the food I’ve eaten fish tacos up and down the west coast and I’d give these tacos a solid 9. Between the bigger sizes tortillas and their plumpy sized serving of Mahi which melted in my mouth I’d definitely give this place a 5 star rating. Go eat here and spend all your money.

Great, authentic Mexican food for a great price. We got tacos and rice and beans. The chicken taco that I ordered for my son was so tender and juicy– although I usually avoid chicken tacos because they are usually bland, this one was great. The sweet cream-filled pastry was a lovely end to our meal.

Mexican sweet breads, fresh squeezed orange juice, and delicious breakfast burritos. The staff was very polite, and the facility was clean. Would recommend this place to anyone

When I am craving Mexican food, I want the real thing but had not really found what I was looking for in Carp until today. I checked the Unilocal reviews and everyone seemed to like this place. The enchiladas, burritos, and taco choices look like winners based on the posted photos but I had to order the nachos so that I could report on each of the hot sauces in their salsa bar, right? I got a to– go order because the TV was blaring over the clean tables, and I could go enjoy the view at the State Beach. Nachos: Real shredded cheese and lots of it, whole beans, fresh tortilla chips served with avocado and Pico de gallo equals Winner on all counts. Your choice of meat if you want it. Hot sauce: The light green sauce had the haberno burn that I crave. The other green is a smooth avocado sauce. One of the reds had a slow burn, the other was a Chipotle blend which was mild. The Pico provided with my nachos was fresh while the salsa bar’s was a little watery but had fresh cilantro and a nice flavor. I will definitely be back to try their enchiladas and tacos. Prices are average and service was quick.

The food was amazing! The portions are really big, the photos on the menu look a lot smaller than what you actually get. The service and atmosphere are not the best but the food and the price are worth it! I would definitely go back. Authentic Mexican food!

The molasses pig is my favorite, but you really can’t go wrong with any of Don Roge’s pan dulce, and the price is always right. It’s nice, too, that they mix up flavors and varieties and seem to always have something a little bit different. Their serve-yourself bakery shelving is convenient and ensures there is no issue when I bring my own bag to fill up on all sorts of sweet treats.

MOSTDELICIOUSANDLARGEST torta ever! Great prices and they open super early for the fresh pastries, as well as close around 9, which is late for Carpinteria~! They also have the mexican coca cola bottles, which are very yummy when paired with their carne asada items!

This place is a win in all the following categories: pastries, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My favorites are the adobada for lunch and dinner, and the chiliquiles for breakfast. The food is always fresh and affordable which makes it a favorite of mine.

This is the sister/brother restaurant to Tacos Don Roge. I love their pastries… delicious and only $.75 each. Such a great deal! Their breakfast items are excellent too. I love the chiliquiles with the verde sauce. Definitely big enough for a second meal. The pastry chef and main cook is always changing what he makes. He has the standard conchas, other Mexican pastries, but also makes specialty cookies, bread and flan. He is really nice and loves hearing compliments about the things he bakes. I love going in when the items are just out of the oven cooling on the large cooling rack! Nothing like a 5 min. old apple turnover for $.75! We are already regulars of this place. Delicious!!!
