Still absolutely love this place. Went for brunch again this weekend and had my little French moment, eating a croissant and drinking a café au lait… LOVEDIT! Oh, and two words = almond croissant. Just get one, you can thank me later. ;)

Really loved the food and wine. The interior didn’t do much for me, so we sat outside and enjoyed the sunset. We would be happy to go back.

This place is adorable. I had a pre-paid group discount voucher, so I was excited to try it for the first time in downtown Carmel. I went for lunch and had the Croque Provençal, which is a delicious veggie version of the traditional French sandwich with carmelized onions, tomatoes, and fantastic cheese and bread. The atmosphere is cheery and bright. My boyfriend said it felt too girly for him, but maybe that was just the French brunch place feel. :-)

Adorable! Great service from Ashley. Offered recommendations that really showed she knew the menu. I had chicken salad and the Emilie Crêpe. Both were wonderful and came out fast from the kitchen. Nutella, coconut and fresh whipped cream — hmmm! Wonderful additon to the usually over stodgy Carmel lunch fare.

I have to say, i am rather fond of this little French restaurant. I have been here a few times and not disappointed yet. The Eggs Napoleon was perfectly cooked and great with the paris style coffee. As for desert, I don’t think it is possible to get something you wont love. My personal favorite is the Chocolate Mousse pie. If you live in the Carmel area, this is a must try. On one last note, they do offer a lunch specials!

I will say I’m a little biased since my wife is a French teacher in the area and I have grown to appreciate and love the French culture and cuisine. That being said, I did very much enjoy the experience last week at La Mie Emilie. Our hostess and server made us feel at home and gave us some very good tips on the menu. My wife ordered the quiche du jour and I went with the Croque Monsieur. I have to say that I had a croque monsier in Paris a few years ago and this one was much better! I do my best to put my money where my mouth is(literally and figuratively) when it comes to local restaurants, so I must say this is a gem. La Mie Emilie is located in Carmel’s Arts District and fits in nicely in that neighborhood. I would recommend this to anyone. The service was solid, the food was excellent and it was a tremendous value! All this and we didn’t really even dig too much into their«treats» yet. We will just have to visit again sometime!

May I begin with saying that this is my first Unilocal review! My sister has been harassing me for months to be a Unilocaler so here we go… This quaint restaurant is located in the art district of Carmel and it fits in beautifully there! It was awesome! There were too many dishes on the menu that sounded delicious(and all were reasonably priced). So after much debate I chose the baked french toast with raspberry cream and whipped topping. It was VERY sweet and exactly what I was in the mood for. They had a large array of pies on the menu with several displayed in the entry, all of which looked amazing. Everyone who worked there was very pleasant from the moment we stepped in the door, and had it not been so hot, we would have sat on the lovely outdoor patio. So, basically, I can’t wait to go back!

Nestled in downtown Carmel off Main Street across from Unilocal’s most controversially reviewed MugBuns, is La Mie Emilie. With a few outdoor seating options and an extensive dessert menu, this place is a special treat awaiting you, Unilocalers! My sister and new fellow Unilocaler, Audra L.(welcome her with open arms — she is awesome) and I went for brunch today before going to see Eclipse. I have to say… there were MULTITUDES of items to explore on the menu. I was so disappointed that I could not taste test ALL the crepes… there so many fabulous choices! I ended up getting Ham and Cheese Galettes, which was made of buckwheat crepes and hosted an over easy egg and I added tomato. It was so savory and delish! My sister devoured(and I mean… one minute there was 5 bites and the next, she practically licked her plate) the baked french toast that was piled with french preserves and whipped cream! It was a dessert for brunch! I also got a large mocha cappuccino that was steamed to perfection. I am a coffee snob, so this is a VERY nice compliment to an already fabulous meal. But, «the as good as it gets» star rating also comes with an AMAZING price and incredibly warm and friendly service. I was downright shocked at how reasonable everything on the menu was and how sweet and accommodating the wait staff was. NOTHING was over-priced! I was floored when I received my bill for just over $ 10 and my sister only paid $ 8. This caused me to spend more on a tip(b/c they were fab!) and appreciate my experience even more! I recommend brunch, lunch(I really want to try the chicken salad with almonds as other Unilocalers have mentioned) and coffee with friends. It’s a great first date place. They are quick in case it isn’t going well, it’s casual, inexpensive but makes a great first impression! This little treat is a gem that I will return to VERY soon! I could shout from the rooftops about it! I want to try the MANY desserts and am contemplating getting an entire apple pie to eat for myself… it looked like the best thing in the case today! Don’t miss out! It’s worth a trip from downtown for those of you who aren’t Carmelites… I promise it’s worth it!(Oh and call me first… I might want to join!)

Went in for lunch and I had the quiche lorraine. The crust was great, although the overall quiche was a little sweet– I believe it was the onions. I finished the whole thing though, and probably could have eaten more. The half crossaint was yummy. It was really fresh and while I enjoyed it, it didn’t have the flaky airiness of a great crossaint; more the chewiness of fresh bread. My husband had the soup; the tomato soup«cup» was a small ramekin. The flavor was good, but again, a small portion size. I had a chocolate crossaint for dessert and he had the french apple pie ala mode. The pie was great, the crossaint was served warm and yummy as expected, but again, not flaky like some I have had. Bottom line: Don’t go if you are hungry, but its a great place to stop in for a light lunch or to pick up a treat to go.
