This was a fun find for my kids. We live on the beach, so they are used to spending time at the beach. But, this one is different. They have a nice roped off swimming area that does not have waves. It is shallow and perfect for kids to swim in. This was a lot of fun for them because they could swim and play and not worry about it getting deep or big waves coming. I set up my chair at the edge of the water and soaked my feet and relaxed. We will definitely make a trip back out here again soon!

This seems like it’s a well-kept secret. Why there aren’t more people at this beach is beyond me. The water is warm and shallow enough to let you walk out for what feels like miles without the water ever going above your knee! The sand is nice quality, brushes off easily and feels nice to the touch. Take your photo with the LOVE statue, then discover why you’ll feel just that way about the beach when you visit it.

I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Chesapeake Beach as I got married down here. The beach itself is pretty but rougher than some beaches you will find further south. The waves can be a little harsh depending on the weather. The views of the sunrise/sunset are some of the best —beautiful skies…

If you go to the waterfront of Cape Charles, but you’ve neglected to bring your swimsuit, just kick off your shoes on the clean white sand, roll up your pants, and wade out about 100 feet. The slope of the beach is very gradual, the water temp in mid-October was fabulous, and there was only the occasional dog walker. Some big rocks are good to lay on, if you are the type to ignore warning signs(you know who you are!)

Hanging out on this beach in October made me feel like I’d somehow stolen a secret summer. The weather was lovely, the sand was perfect, and the water was balmy. I refuse to comment on whether or not I ignore warning signs. ps. Sunset here is lovely too!
