Scottish Rite Cathedral

I’ve passed this gorgeous, historical structure several times when I used to live near the Dallas Farmer’s Market. It’s a shame that it took me several years to actual visit and experience its breathtaking interior. The occasion was an open house geared to showcase various bridal vendors. Gils catering was the sponsor and they were incredibly delicious, unique and offered generous portions and variety in cuisine (review to follow). In any case this venue has a ton to offer. The detail and character are ‘wow’ factors right from the first step inside. It’s a good sign when you have such a gorgeous canvas to work with— and might end up allowing you save/​cut a few corners on lighting and florals! The remainder of the building was closed off, but we did sneak in to check out the bridal suite. Huge– classic and elegant. A great space for pictures, to sip champagne and get away from the bustle in the main ballroom.
The only downside is that it not equipped to handle larger guest lists. So if your wedding is more than 250, this stunning space is pretty much impossible.
