Stopped in here to check it out. Ended up getting a bottle of the Il Keyote agave, super delicious! Warms the mouth without the burn, and you get toffee flavors as it dries up. Tried the others there too, and they were all good, but the agave took it hands down for me.

Amazing spirits and the owner is young and incredibly knowledgable. He’s very friendly and gives great tasting notes for each of his products. $ 2 per taste, $ 5 for 5 tastings, there were 6 different spirits to taste when I was there, and you’re welcome to try them all. I suggest sharing a tasting if you’re with friends. It doesn’t take much to get a little tipsy especially while it was about 80 degrees outside lol. Unfortunately, there was no whiskey. The next whiskey release is due sometime in the beginning of August, and during their last release they sold out within 3 hours :(. They don’t distribute and they don’t reserve any bottles. So the only way to get yourself a bottle of their fine whiskey is to join their mailing list to be kept informed, and then drive over to their quaint shop in cannon beach in hopes that they’ll still have some left by the time you get there. I really like the uniqueness of his spirits. I’m not a fan of gin and rum, but I actually really enjoyed all of the ones he had. They also had an agave spirit that tasted just like tequila, but I felt it was a tad sweeter and had a great bite at the end. His rum was smooth with a vanilla flavor, and my favorite gin was the Peters’ Family Gin. He wanted it to taste like a martini(which I love, make it dirty please!) and there is a great green olive flavor to it. Definitely one you want to drink neat, a little chilled, no olive juice needed! The prices are competitive as well, with his gins at $ 20, his rum at $ 30, and the agave being the priciest at around $ 50. Definitely stop in and do the tasting. Even if you aren’t a gin and rum fan, you’ll be very pleasantly surprised by his creative style and flavors.

I seldom drink hard liquor, but this place was really cool and I’d recommend it to anyone staying in the area. When I visited they had five different types of liquor to sample – and charged five dollars for three samples. The owner – who had an encyclopedic knowledge of distilling – walked me through every shot, which was really helpful and well worth five dollars. Everything he had was outstanding. After I decided to buy a bottle, he refunded the five dollar tasting fee. A very interesting way to spend a half hour.

Cheap, fun, informative, alcohol! What’s not to love! A couple bucks for a tasting and you get to hear a whole lot about how the distillery works. Loved how in depth they were about the rum and gin, even if sipping liquors is not really my thing.

We’re a couple of satisfied repeat customers! Impeccable customer service to go along with the expertly crafted spirits. Stop in for a tasting. If you live out of state, make sure to bring some home!

What a great stop. Some nice tastings with some excellent local alcohol. Customer service is top notch. I had to walk away with a bottle of gin. Had to…

Love, love, love this distillery! It’s in an adorable location and the employees are proud and knowledgeable. Despite our young appearance, we were not given attitude when asked for our IDs and we were not treated like we might be clueless. We were in around 1pm on March 24th and sampled gins, rum, and the agave. We left with the Old Pharmacist but could have left with more. Thank you!

I did a tasting today with my dad and between the two of us we shared tastings so we could taste everything. Literally all of the spirits were tasty and the guy helping us was super friendly and excited about telling us about their products. They also sell nice souvenir glasses and interesting sodas.

«I’m not a huge fan of hard A» and«Owner was super knowledgable and helpful to the novice» are the start of two of the only 4-star reviews on the first page. Seriously people? This is why people talk sh! t about Unilocal! If you are a fan of unique spirits, hell, even if you just like spirits. GOHERE. The staff(not sure if it was the owner), was insanely informational on how they prepare the sprits, making sure you taste the spirits that you would enjoy. If you’re «hard-set» and only like one type of a specific spirit, then you may not like this place. They get creative, and have really interesting stories behind each spirit. I bought the first bottle of gin I’ve ever purchased here. I wish I knew the name of the guy who helped me, he was so helpful and knowledgable. My only complaint is that their whiskey sells out in a matter of hours. Being from Seattle that doesn’t work for me. But I couldn’t possibly lower their rating for creating that good of a demand for their product. I’m also really impressed that somehow they chose Cannon Beach to start their business. If they were in Portland or Seattle, they’d be exploding by now, but they decided to stay in their humble little beach town. Keep up the good work Cannon Beach Distillery!

I’m not a huge fan of hard A, but my husband is. He thoroughly enjoyed this place when we were here two years ago, and last weekend. We didn’t buy anything this time, mainly because we were on a budget and their products are pricey. Good gift for family though. :)

Excellent spirits with unique characteristics! Informative and affordable tasting. The agave spirit surprised me as favorite with startling similarity to a bourbon or whiskey! They also let my 4 legged friends join me inside while I tasted!

The agave liquor is really smooth and quite tasty. Definitely worth stopping in for a taste test — but you’ll probably end up leaving with a bottle. Good stuff!

It’s been about three years since we hit Cannon Beach and it was nice to see this had opened in the interim. Took a 3 sample taster and all three were great. The rum and gin were fantastic and the agave was super unique and tasty. Only grabbed a glass to take home during this stop but will have to bring a bottle of something home on the next trip. It was great to hear how passionate the distiller was about his product as well.

Can’t say enough good things about this place! We dropped in on a whim and picked up a bottle of IL Keyote. Every one of our guest have LOVED it. Next time we’re down we’ll have to pick up two bottles!

Go here. Go here. Go here! And bring me with you. :) The second best thing in Cannon Beach after the views at the beach is this distillery! I’m so glad we saw this Unilocal ad and gave the place a shot. The gin is outstanding — and not expensive. We also got some outstanding rum. So good my only regret is that I didn’t buy more to take home. At least come here and do the tasting. You will not regret it. :)

We were feeling a bit overburdened with touristy shops and tourists on vacation, until we stumbled upon this gem! We met Mike the owner and creator of the distilled beverages. A former biology/chemistry student that took his work seriously enough to make this happen. We enjoyed the story behind the making and naming of these personally distilled items. My husband chose the rum and I chose the gin. Next time we will go for the Agave or have friends in Portland pick it up for us and bring it to California! I love to see people make their dreams a reality and whats old is new again. After small batch wines and craft brews… I never knew I would turn to handmade, limited edition spirits. Don’t miss this experience when you are in Cannon Beach. I think he’s on to something really cool… did we mention the awards and medals — go find out for yourself!

I knew nothing of the distillation process before walking in. The owner gave me a small chemistry lesson as I tasted some of his creations. He’s a one man show and knows how to make some delicious booze. I bought a bottle of gin, which I would never consider even walking down the aisle of the liquor store, but it was damn good! What an amazing way to use your degree and be able to do what you love!

Small shop, but great service! The guy behind the bar was super friendly and answered all of our questions. They have a small variety, although we were interested in Whiskeys(they did not have), he showed us a similar alternatives.

Within 15 months since opening, this place has built a reputation beyond Cannon Beach for well crafted, creative spirits. We walked in on a Monday afternoon and were greeted warmly by Mike, proprietor of the establishment. During our tasting of gin, rum and a 100% agave spirit we realized Mike knows his craft and is eager to share his knowledge. He embodies his love of distilling unique spirits in an approachable way. Surely, he’ll go on to do great thing for the burgeoning distillery landscape in the PNW and we wish him all the best.
