Mary’s is awesome! if you want to treat yourself to a great lunch, hit these guys up! Their sandwich maker is a god among men, some time ago when they had an issue with their deli guru closing early, they fixed it and wrote to me to tell me all was good again. I love this place and if i had any issues it would be that I’ve gotten a little fat from eating all their sandwiches(seriously cant stop). Thank you for your service to all hungry people!!!

Very inconspicuous inside the gas station, but you’ll see the decent sized deli counter full of Boar’s Head meat and know you are in the right place. I got the Gondolla, which is essentially an Italian, on the ciabatta roll. All of the bread looked good and you can get whatever you would like on the sandwich. Condiment quantities were just right and I appreciated the romaine/green leaf lettuce — none of that shredded(dreaded) iceberg! The guy behind the counter was very friendly and accommodating. I mentioned we would be taking the sandwiches with us to consume a bit later and he offered to package them in plastic containers so they wouldn’t get smashed. The sandwiches were piled high with more than enough meat(I posted a picture) and come with a small side. The side was nothing to write home about but seeing as the sandwich was so filling I wasn’t too upset about it. At $ 6.50 this place is a great deal for a great sandwich(which held up very well for later) and they serve breakfast sandwiches as well. Highly recommended for a quick bite.

Excellent sandwiches, excellent service. I got the Gondola and it was huge and delicious. It also comes with a pickle and a small side, all for just under $ 7. A must-visit for anyone in the area.

Yes. This is a sandwich shop in a gas station. Get over it. They make the best sandwiches in Boston. Every sandwich hand sliced to order. The bread is delicious. All Boars Head product. But the key here is sandwich architecture. Everything– condiments, cheese, meat, toppings– are exactly where they should be. So every bite is as delicious as the next. The selection isn’t huge, but the sandwiches are. And the prices are amazing. Do yourself a favor and try a gas station sandwich. But only here. Anywhere else that would be kind of gross.

Best sandwich around. Pleasant surprise while fueling up and was served one of the absolute best and freshest sandwich ever by staff who clearly care about making it great. Looking forward to stopping in my next time in Boston.

Does this place need another 5 star review? Yes, because it is just that good. Everything I need to say about how amazing this deli is has already been said, so just trust me on this and go. I dare someone to show me a better deli in Boston(WAN Convenience aside). Astounding job Mary, you have shined light on an otherwise dark and gloomy realm in terms of sandwich joints.

Flew in from Honolulu, standard Unilocal search… truly is the best NY style deli in Cambridge. First Mary is real nurse and everything is spot clean, meticulous hand sliced Boarshead meat and turkey, ANDTHEBREAD is Awesome. Very generous portions at very reasonable price. Right on memorial drive located in Shell Gas minaret, it is easy to pull in. The only place to have real eggs cracked from a shell for a breakfast sandwich. Truly deserves it’s top ranking.

I LOVE Mary’s Deli On the Charles! I go there every Friday with my co-workers for a sandwich as a ritual. I know the idea of a deli inside a gas station may seem a little odd, but trust me when I say that the sandwiches are AWESOME!!! I have had the Gondolla, Hull, Finish Line, Rudder, tuna, and chicken salad sandwiches. I have to say my favorite is the Finish Line made with jerk turkey. It has a real kick to it! The sandwiches are very affordable, from $ 5.99 — $ 7.99, depending on the type of bread you pick. Plus, you get a pickle and side of potatoe salad or cole slaw! They are LOADED with fresh Boar’s Head meet and cheese. I can only eat half a sandwich at any sitting because the sandwich is so huge and thick! When I save the other half, it is still just as good hours later! The sandwiches are fresh, as Mary slices the meat and cheese when you order! You HAVE to try this place! If you’re ever going to take a stroll down the Charles or are going to have a picnic, grab a sandwich! You won’t regret it!!! The sandwiches can take about 10 – 15 min. to prepare, but it’s b/c the meat is sliced on the spot! Personally, I don’t mind the wait b/c I think the sandwiches are made with love! Also, Mary is very very sweet!
