We are so sad our favorite restaurant in Camas has changed it’s signature dishes. We ate there tonight only to our suprise the signature enchilada dish changed to a very flat tasting dish with a expensive price to match. We inquired and apparently they changed chefs some time ago. The female chef apparently moved up the street to Miss Nolas in Camas. The old enchiladas had a tangy delishious, smokey gouda taste to it. Well no longer sadly. Very flat tasting and not good. Drinks were great as well as service. We are afraid to try the signature dish of Chile Rellano we used to love. We shall move on to greener dining pastures. R and B

It was really busy on the night we went here. But the wait wasn’t terrible and we were seated somewhat quickly. I had to run home to change my daughters diaper, and had my father order me the enchiladas. I was starved and felt the portion was very good. The sauce tasted quite good as well. I ate really quickly and almost as quickly my plate was removed from the table. Nothing too out of the ordinary, but it was removed first before anyone else at the table had finished theirs. It was a vibrant place and everyone enjoyed their meals. We would come back again.

This place is a local treasure with great, clean food and AMAZING margaritas! Cool bar top as well. We go here a couple of times a month

First time at this restaurant for us. The first thing we noticed is the place is pretty loud. We got used to it but worth noting. The salsa was good. Hardly any spice level(2⁄10) but great flavor. We ordered a selection of the tacos. They were good but nothing fantastic. We also had a cup of the chicken soup. The broth was very flavorful.

My husband and I each ordered a burrito, which were just ok. Tasted like something I could easily make. Chicken was difficult to find. With water to drink, tax and tip, our bill was nearly $ 40. I get that the ambience is pretty cool and the food is clean, but if I’m paying $ 40 for food in little downtown Camas, I should be astounded. I just wasn’t.

Mesa is a place I visit frequently and happily so. Went for my birthday and had a a different experience. Half of my order was forgotten about and the carne asada meat in my taco was terrible(extremely over cooked) They were understaffed so we didn’t see our waitress until the end– not her fault– she was running like mad to keep everyone happy. I’m easy going so I didn’t mind but the guy who brought the food left so fast we didn’t get to ask if the other tacos were coming. This is my favorite restaurant in town. I hope my next visit is back to normal. The waitress apologized several times so kudos to her!

Once in awhile I just don’t understand what people want. How can 2 enchiladas be $ 20? I figured these must be incredible so I ordered them and a side salad and water. I was told by some locals it was a little spendy, but good. All in all $ 24.00 w/o tax & tip. Oh, and you have to pay more if you want chips and salsa. These really must be enchiladas the size of Tokyo or some obscene thing was all I could think. As I waited for the salad, I had to return the knife due to it being unclean — food actually stuck to it. Not the end of the world, but boy these enchiladas must be killer so I can work past the knife issue. Food sticks everywhere on cutlery, right? Side salad was fine and was an interesting mix of greens, sunflower seed, raisins. Enjoyable side salad. Then the entrée was«dropped off». Literally, there seemed to be only one waitress working her butt off. There seemed to be 2 guys in really cool, NY trendy style clothing and baseball caps that sat some people at some tables. No smiles, no acknowledgement to guests, «how are you», etc… Looking at my plate: 2 small corn tortillas with overly-dry chicken with little flavor inside with a small amount of rice over the top. The enchilada sauce reminded me of a kind of watered down thousand island dressing crème. The cilantro saved the flavor for me. I would have liked to ask for some Tapatio to add some heat and flavor, but it seemed like too much trouble. I ate the meal, never saw my waitress until I handed her my cc and told her the chicken was dry. She was cool and surprised me with 50% off entrée. That was cool, but I cannot say I will return when visiting on business in future. I guess I am spoiled when I spend $ 20 for a single meal near my home: I get chips and all the salsa I can eat, beans and rice with meal and free soda refills without even asking.

Best Chimichanga’s I’ve had since Arizona! Beef and/or Chicken falls apart in your mouth. Great Cadillac Margaritas, Chips & Salsa + chunky Guac too! Friendly staff and great service always. :) Just moved to area and we need to try other restaurants, but we keep craving it when date night arrives. FYI– This Mexican food has FLAVOR, so if you’re into bland Mex then go elsewhere.

Egregiously over priced. I paid $ 20 for 3 tacos, beans, and a half cup of rice. Food was nothing special, and they charge extra for chips and salsa. What Mexican restaurant charges for chips and salsa? No bueno. I gave this place two chances but I’m over it.

I feel somewhat conflicted about this place. It was the first place my wife dined when we moved to Camas and she LOVES their fish taco and salsa. We have eaten here several times and in general, the food has been good. It’s more of a fusion style of cooking than traditional. Service however has been inconsistent with most visits good but a few visits were not good at all. Over the summer, we dined here with our 26 year old daughter. We had just finished a hike and it was smoking hot outside and we stopped in for lunch. She had a disposable water bottle and the waiter reprimanded her for bringing a water bottle in the restaurant saying that it may have alcohol in it. Really? We almost left at that point. So the food is good but the service is inconsistent and the prices are high for Mexican food. When you charge more people expect more. As others have mentioned, for $ 15 you would expect the burrito to have lobster in it. I will continue to dine here because my wife loves their food and we like to support our local businesses but there are better options for Mexican food in the area.

This place is in the heart of downtown Camas. They recently expanded and remodeled. Looks so good. The owners are there most of the time and they are very friendly, seems like they put a lot of effort into their business. The waitstaff does a great job! They’re all very friendly. The torta de pollo and torta de tinga are delicious! Probably some of the best tortas I have ever had. They both have great flavor, both have a very different taste! I’ve also had their burrito which is scrumptious! It’s a very good size, definitely hits the spot! HIGHLYRECOMMENDED!

The service here was good. The food really wasn’t. Don Pedro’s or muchas gracias is way better. Price was high…

We saw this restaurant passing by one day and wanted to try it. It has great atmosphere until your get a menu with dry food stuck to it. The sangria was great, but our dishes(chili relleno and chimichanga) were not very good due to a very overpowering spice(I believe it was cinnamon). We also ordered a small chips and salsa. Both the chips and salsa were served cold(refrigerator-cold salsa tastes like Pace regardless if they made it or not).

Out of guacamole? On a Tuesday at 4:00? Seriously? Food was good although half their menu items list guac in the description — for goodness sake go to the grocery store or Camas Produce and get some avocados!

The slowest restaurant ever… even with only four other tables, prepare to wait 15 minutes for a beer or 20 for a marg. The salsa is the most gringo crap you’ve ever had… and they’re very stingy with their«hot sauce» as they only give it to you in little tiny dishes. Other than being mild, this food is actually quite good. Vegan tacos on the menu, which is always a plus. Chile relleno was quite exceptional, actually. Beautiful décor, nice music, lovely town. If you don’t like real spicy food and want a relaxing slow paced experience, COMEHERE!

We’ve been here twice now. So far, our experiences have been uneven – Pluses: * tasty Mexican pulled pork(Tingas?) * atmosphere * guacamole Minuses: * haphazard service * slow kitchen * midtown Manhattan prices The chances of a good tasting Mexican meal are good — just watch out for inattentive waitstaff and those prices. I don’t mind paying for chips and salsa but items like $ 15 burritos are eye-popping. This isn’t some trendy locale where the restaurant has high overhead for décor and rent. It’s Camas. You can throw a rock and hit the paper mill. #justsayin’

Vegan options: Eh Service: Fine Price: $$$ Decided to try a new place for dinner last night and while we weren’t necessarily«disappointed,» we probably won’t be back. Our waitress was sweet but not too knowledgeable about the menu which is important to me as I don’t eat animal products. The chips & salsa are unfortunately very lackluster(and greasy) and are also not complimentary. The guac is pretty good though. It seems that everything here is «okay» but doesn’t warrant the price. As a vegan I didn’t find myself with many options which is always a bummer. Ordered the kale salad and a side of black beans. I was surprised to see the black beans come out which goat cheese on top so we had to ask for a new order. My parents liked their tacos and my mom enjoyed her Spanish coffee.

Food here is greasy, tasty and comes in huge portions. I came here for a Friday lunch and promptly slipped into a food coma after stuffing myself with chips, guac and vegetable mesadilla. Full points for the chips n guac! You’d think it can’t possibly have much variety in taste, but it does! There’s the ordinary stuff you get elsewhere(read: Chipotle), and then there’s the AMAZING stuff here at Nuestra Mesa! The chips are thick, salty and dripping in oil(yum!), and the guacamole is chunky, fresh and with lots of cilantro. I was satiated even before my actual lunch arrived. The mesadilla had a nice balance of cheese and vegetables in it. Cute décor, fast friendly service. I’m deducting two stars because the salsa was not that good and tasted somewhat burnt(for a Mexican restaurant, that’s unacceptable!) and because of the lack of options for vegetarians(there’s just 1 mesadilla, 1 taco and chips. Come on, you can do better than that, this is the Portland area). Overall, a good place, slightly pricey, but could be worth the money if you are not limiting yourself to the vegetarian items.
