Birch Street Uptown Lounge

Birch Street is the perfect example of class and quality in Camas. Every drink Dennis has made had been perfect. He is charming and witty. The music is great on Thursdays Fridays and Saturdays. Drinks are a bit high but there is no well and the alcohol is very high quality (top shelf at other places) and the drinks are perfect. Overall outstanding.

Very nice ambiance. The drinks are delicious. I loved the bathroom décor. They had my grandmother’s perfume in there. Hit me right in the feels. Fun place to get gussied up and go for a drink.

As a local business owner and resident who has travelled to many wonderful cities/​towns, and visited some fantastic bars, I was ecstatic to stumble upon Birch St Lounge.
Finding a more «upscale», elegant place to enjoy drinks at that still has a relaxed, casual vibe is very hard, in my opinion.
More often than not, the more refined and stylish a place is, the less comfortable and at home you feel there. Birch St is the rare exception to this rule.
It’s wonderful to have a locally owned, relaxed, friendly and yet still «classically cool» place to come to.
Kevin, Dennis, Melissa, Ron and Corrin all make you feel instantly welcome. It doesn’t hurt that they offer ridiculously good cocktails also!
(Oh…almost forgot… order the Mac n cheese or pork sliders. Trust me…).

No matter what ur favorite drink is u can get one better here at Birch Street! It’s classy and fun! A really good cheese plate never hurts. Don’t forget to look up who’s playing because Raeann Phillips is a home run every time!

Awesome place. Very classy, and some great cocktails. Staff is super friendly. They’re always considerate, even when our group shows up late evening and start pulling tables together. Definitely recommend this place for great drinks and a get together with friends.

My two siblings and I were recently celebrating a birthday in the Birch Street Lounge in Camas, and we had the unfortunate experience of meeting Mr. Kevin Taylor, the owner of the Lounge. From the beginning, Mr. Taylor presented himself in an arrogant and pretentious manner. When asked why he chose to open an establishment in Camas, he simply said ‘because of demographics’. Perhaps it would have been more appropriate for him to actually spend time in our town and get to know the members of our community.
Our already unpleasant experience took a decided turn for the worse when we had a slight misunderstanding with the staff and we were told to leave immediately. When we questioned what we had done to deserve this, Mr. Taylor and his staff said they had called the police and they were «on the way». This was a shocking and completely uncalled-​for action. To make matters worse, shortly after this incident, we discovered that they had lied and the police had never been contacted. I tried to reason with Mr. Taylor, to try to understand these events, but he had nothing to say. I simply received a petulant wave.
Our family has been in Camas for generations. We enjoy what our community has become and frequent the establishments in Camas regularly. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. My personal message to Mr. Taylor: please ponder your actions and behavior and choose to treat your patrons with professionalism, courtesy, and a measure of class. After all, your patrons determine the success or failure of your business.
I think it’s interesting to note that since I’ve submitted this review, an employee of Birch Street Lounge, or someone affiliated with it, copied a couple of lines from above and added it to their Facebook page — stating blatant lies. On top of all this, supportive comments on my behalf are being deleted from their Facebook post. Good thing we all know how social media works.

Love this bar! Has so much charm. great drinks, classy atmosphere, fantastic service. All around great place for drinks. The bartenders know their stuff!

Simply the best! We just love this little vintage style cocktail lounge. I love the staff, their drinks are excellent, and the vibe is so relaxing. It really doesn’t matter how you go in, you can dress up for a nice date out on the town or you can go in dressed casually, it all works for this place.

This is one classy classic! Are you looking for a dim lit place to chill or chat? If any of these adjectives or verbs make you happy then stroll in and get ready for a cocktail list that goes for days. There is nothing artificial in this place and the staff know how to serve.
When I return to lounge I will make sure to list the names of our smooth libations. In the meantime, you won’t be dissapointed :)

I think I’m going to ask Dennis to marry me. You’ve got to love a guy who can take one look at you and make you the perfect, I mean PERFECT, cocktail. The first was a happy marriage between gin, vodka, and lemon, called Vesper. Perfection. Not sure on the name of the second one, but it was at least as spectacular, and redolent of cucumber. I love an amazing signature cocktail, but it seems most places think that means flavored vodka or simple syrup. If you want pure flavor without feeling like you need to schedule an appointment with your dentist, go here. Drinks are on the pricier side, but pure and strong, so well worth it. Snacks are also ideal accompaniments. We tried the hummus plate and Brie fondue (think Mac n cheese without the Mac). The only downside? Camas. Ugh.

On one of our visits to Camas, our son and his girlfriend found this place and they highly recommended it to us.
We moved to the area earlier this year and we have become regulars.
What I love about Birch Street Uptown Lounge is there are no blenders and no televisions. We enjoy the background music. There is a nice selection of wine, and drinks. My husband is happy with the Scotch selection. We love the service, the atmosphere, and the careful attention to serving quality libations.
We usually sit at the bar and enjoy a drink or two or three. Ocassionally we meet friends here for an after-​work cocktail. We have no complaints and we enjoy every visit.
We typically do not go to the bar on weekends — we prefer the quieter less crowded week nights.

Birch Street is ‘class personified’. Dennis is classic, witty and extremely savvy in his wine selections on their Flight Night. The ambiance and service is the utmost. Worth the travel from Portland or Vancouver — or farther! Oh yes, dare I forget that the drinks are INCREDIBLE. Perfect Martini’s, and other classic concoctions as well. Side Cars, Moscow Mules. Personal favorite spot.

The bartenders, waitstaff, and the owner are polite, entertaining, and on point when it comes to their cocktails recommendations.

Very cool place. The novelty of having old fashioned drinks made fresh for you is something to return over. Very friendly bartender, Kevin Taylor. Great entertainment on a Saturday night with an amazingly talented vocalist. We had the spinach dip and olives and those were great to have with our Old Fashioned and Grey Goose + Ginger beer. Good place to listen to music, rub elbows with Camas locals and have a good time.

There is no classier bar in the world. The drinks were amazing. I have not had a better Manhattan anywhere in the world. The place was immaculate. The décor and the field in vibe were amazing. It took us back to how we imagine the 19 thirties and twenties were like. Bartender was super classy and very nice and yeah it was just an amazing once in a lifetime experience.
If we are ever in Camas again we will definitely seek this place out.

The absolute BEST cocktail bar outside of downtown Portland. It’s like stepping into 1920’s Paris. Classic style cocktails… think French 75, Tom Collins, Monkey Gland… and of course — a perfect Manhattan! Put on some red lipstick and kitten heels. Art Deco is calling. Come here.

The pork sliders and uptown mac n cheese with bacon were scrumptious! The perfect joining with our drinks of the Perfect Manhattan, Moscow Mule, Old Fashioned, Dark & Stormy, and Aviation Cocktail. This was a great place to unwind from a busy day and enjoy the company of a date. A great throwback to days when cocktails were more than a shot and you took time to savor them.

I easily give this one 5 stars. On a Tuesday afternoon it wasn’t too busy when I walked in. They recently expanded and doubled in space, which felt nice and open. I had a couple cocktails (dirty gin martini and an absinthe) and when I left I definitely wanted to come back. This is a place that knows what they’re doing when they pour drinks. The bartender was great to talk to and it felt like I was back in a time warp. They do everything the right way. The way spirits were meant to be poured. If you’re any sort of self-​respecting drinker I’d go here and pay them a visit!

I am a transplanted native San Franciscan and I love a place with that extra something that it doesn’t have to work hard at and you just feel in the air. This is one of those places,
As a husband and father of 3 young boys my wife and i rarely have date nites so we cannot afford to make an mediocre choices where to spend our few hours away from home, The other night we came to this Lounge before and returned after dinner for the music.
