GNC

It’s smaller than other locations I’ve been to, but it had just what I needed! In fact, whole foods, chucks, and new seasons didn’t have the Jay Robb whey protein but GNC did!
Ken, the manager, was very nice on the phone when I called about my inquiry; also inviting when I first came in and I even got an awesome discount!

Never again, I went in knowing exactly what I wanted as always. This time I felt like I was going to buy a car, I will never return to this store. When I go in to a GNC I know what I need and what I am going to buy, but to walk in and have the company spiel shoved down your throat is WOW!
Horrible, Horrible.
I will be returning only to the Gresham store, they truly care and are there to help you find what you are looking and need.

WOW! What a horrible first impression! One employee at the counter chatting with a customer about diet — appropriately cool (it is a vitamin store). Another customer walks in behind me, she finishes up with the woman at the counter and walks up to the customer who just walked in and asks to help him. That’s alright — I have just been waiting for a bit I think. Well they get into all the different kinds of protein powder there is and after the different benefits of each and my son and I standing at the counter waiting to purchase she gets into the discussion of different flavors… at that point we put our purchases down and leave. How could this have been handled differently?
1. Take customers in the order they come in — it’s a tiny store, you can’t miss who comes in and when; especially when they are minutes apart.
2. I absolutely get wanting to educate your consumer — it is what GNC is about. But after funneling down what brand/​kind of protein powder would be best and launching into taste profile — go ahead and use this line: «There are a number of flavors, why don’t I let you look them over while I help these other two customers and I’ll be right back to answer any more questions?» Honestly, you have two customers. 1 set left irritated, your approval rating is now at 50%. I don’t think that will lead to success.
I will NEVER step foot in there again, there are WAY too many options for my nutritional needs. Hey, New Seasons — with your fully staffed, helpful department — I’ll see ya tomorrow!
