The food of this place was introduced to me by one of my high schools. Pick up stix/ameci’s pizza on alternating days. Anyway, I always loved the school food(especially coming from an LAUSD school to a different district), lots of students would complain but I never had an issue. Then I started working at the commons so this place became my go-to for lunch breaks. My regular was usually the house chicken over friend rice. It was always good, and always consistent. And now over 7 years later, it’s still the same as I’d expect. I give the extra star from my own nostalgia of eating this food in high school with friends, never having to wait longer than 5 – 10 minutes, and they don’t care how old you are to get a kids meal. Totally worth 5 stars. I recommend this restaurant! Perfect family place too and also great to sit outside by the little pond with the turtles and trees haha. Go here if you want quality Chinese fast food and don’t want to wait long!

i love pick up stix, it is indeed the best«chiniese» food i have ever had. i highly recommend the house special chicken, but if your looking for something more on the healthy side i would go with the chicken or shrimp and vegtables. i been here a couple of times for lunch and dinner and it has been a great experience.

Pick up Stix is a good solid place to grab a quick lunch. The food is consistently good and the service is fast. I love the lunch specials here, the portions are perfect for lunch. The specials come with white rice, brown rice or noodles, an entrée, and cream wontons. There are not too many places to eat at the commons but this is where I stop in when I need a food break from studying at the library next door.

I recommend takeout here vs sitting inside, since the dining area is very small & awkward. It’s especially uncomfortable during the winter, as the front door keeps swinging open and blowing cold wind inside. Other than that, the food is better than average when compared to most Chinese restaurants. I like the fast & fresh concept. Definitely better than Panda, but not quite Chang’s. It is what it is, right in-between.

The orange chicken and pad Thai noodles are both very good here. Prices are reasonable, and the food comes out fresh and hot. Thing is, service is a little slow– took 25mins to get my meal and the food is a little salty. Otherwise great! Probably will be back.

I like the place /food is good! … although its pretty slow service getting the food! Last time I was there it was so backed up waiting ½ hr for a simple quick order. They need more cooks!

Had lunch at this restaurant and it took 15 minutes to get my meal and that’s only because I had to ask where it was. Then when I mentioned it and said I only had so much time for lunch, the server just took her time preparing the sauces, utensils and plates while laughing and talking with her coworkers. When the meal arrived the shrimp was miniscule and the noodles were swimming in sauce. This was the first and last time I will visit this restaurant and perhaps this franchise.

I went there last night, and I have to question if they really want their food to taste as poorly as it does. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken with brown rice and I can’t believe this is how they want it to taste. First off there is WAY too much sauce, and there was no flavor to the sauce. There was heat, but no flavor. I was disappointed with the amount and sizing of the chicken pieces. There was maybe 7 pieces of chicken of a variety of small sizing which with the pieces of zucchini and peanuts and swimming in the flavorless sauce made it a very disspointing $ 10.99 I spent with a drink. They should go Panda and get some ideas on how to meet this segment of the market.

Everything here is average. Food is okay, chow mein is kinda salty. Only thing I enjoyed the most is the Cream Cheese Won Tons & the Dumplings. The food doesn’t taste like authentic Chinese Food. Service is average(not bad, not the best), portion size for Family Value Pack is good for 2 people. The good thing is that it is made freshly though.

I like coming to this specific pick up stix for a nice lunch in between studying at the library. I have tried multiple menu items like house chicken, honey chicken, beef & broccoli, etc. My #1 choice is the Mongolian beef entrée. It’s strips of beef, glazed over with grilled onions. They have a lunch special that comes with your choice of a side & rice. It is under $ 10& is very filling for a lunch item. The taste is good and is better then what you except from a chain semi fast food restaurant. I give it a 4 out of 5 because it’s filling and I get cravings for the beef, so you know it’s good lol.

Haven’t been here in years. Coupons in the Sunday paper got me in the door again. Orders: Coconut curry chicken — so good Kids meal — house chicken — too much dark sauce which made it too salty Some other stir fried chicken with veggies — pretty good All orders come with white or brown rice. It’s an open kitchen so you can see them whipping up your order fresh. Prices are comparable to Panda, but this place seems less greasy and fresher ingredients. I was disappointed that they no longer have hot and sour soup. That used to be my favorite at this place when they first opened.

The Service: Great! Staffs behind the counter are very friendly. The Food: Awful~ Egg rolls — super greasy. House fried rice — the shrimps are clearly frozen shrimps. The beef and chicken too! They are definitely not fresh. No flavor at all… The Parking: Calabasas Common parking lot(FREE). During dinner time, parking can be challenging.
