Ate here for dinner last night and it was delicious! The sever was very kind and the food was great and very well priced. I’ll definitely be coming back anytime I’m craving Thai!

The food is AMAZING! Everything we ordered was tasty and flavorful. I’m very particular about my Pad Thai and they didn’t fail to bring the heat! Highly recommend

Always a good meal at Green Basil. I’ve tried a lot of various items — the Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, and Yellow Curry are so great and unforgettable. I had a Thai friend approve its authenticity, yes! Green Curry has an acquired scent/taste so be aware, and Combination Fried Rice was decent. The lady who serves is like an old friend who gives you a long-awaited home-cooked meal. Feels like home. The only cons are the Thai Iced Tea and Thai Iced Coffee are overly sweet(is it too much sugar??) so I cannot finish those. FOODISGREAT!

I honestly can’t ask for more from a local Thai place. Yes it’s a bit westernized as far as preparation(not as authentic Thai as I have had before) but it hits the spot. It’s also half a mile away from my house so it’s super convenient and well priced for the area! We have gotten the masaman Thai curry with chicken, yellow curry, and pineapple curry. They’ve all been good, sometimes there’s a hit and miss with the seasoning of the yellow curry but at least the meat to potato and curry ratios are usually pretty good. The pad Thai is good. My bf claims it’s less greasy than other places we have had and he actually eats it… there’s a good balance between the chicken and shrimp in it. The pad see ew is pretty good as well! Overall a very convenient, hits the spot kind of hole in the wall take out Thai place and I’m glad to have it nearby. Note: There was one time where I called to order, the guy placed me on hold and totally forgot about me. When I hung up and called back, the phone was literally busy for 30 minutes. We eventually just went to the restaurant to order. The guy still hadn’t noticed he didn’t hang up the phone until my bf pointed it out.

Update: The food is good and the price is decent. Bump up a couple of stars. . Original post: This place is soooo slow. The server has bad English. Can’t understand the guy. Only two people in front handling customers, payments, and pickups. I understand this place is busy, but they need to hire more workers! I’ll update after I eat.

Dude I took my in laws here about a week after they’d returned from traveling for 2 months in Southeast Asia. They tried one bite, their eyes got really wide and they high fived and started playing rad air guitars then they slammed some curries and Tom Ka Gai and a Thai Iced Tea, shaved their hair into mohawks, lit their leather jackets on fire, and shredded their skateboards down Fuck You Mountain, jumping over cop cars and blasting some FIDLAR. It was crazy because my in laws are nice people in their 70’s and they don’t usually behave that way but that’s how good this place is.

I came here once just because it’s so close to my house. I ended up really liking it and the prices are insane! Extremely good prices for the portions you receive! The food is good also. I recommend the steak salad it is spicy and has a lot of flavor to it! The pad Thai, fried rice, and some of their soups are good! I don’t remember the soup I got but I really enjoyed it. I tried a different cabbage based vegetable soup but I didn’t like it as much. If your in the area you should definitely try it.

The food is amazing, pending you’re lucky enough to get it. Multiple times I’ve shown up at 5pm or 6pm on a weekday to see it closed. Last night(Friday night) there was a sign on the door that they were closed. A month or two ago there was a sign they were closed because a fight between wife and husband, which stayed up there for a week. I just tried to order and apparently they are only open(possibly, depends on the weather or what mood the owner wakes up in) Monday thru Friday too now. I hope that one day a Thai restaurant moves into the area which sticks to the hours they post on their front door.

Green basil is my favorite Thai restaurant and also favorite restaurant around Malibu. Being a Pepperdine student and having a lack of options to eat around the area, Green Basil has been my go-to and has never failed me. You can’t beat their portion, price, and taste, and I would hands down choose Green basil over Cholada any day. My favorite dishes to get are the Pad See Ew with beef(spicy level 6), wonton soup, and Green Basil fried rice. But to be honest, everything I’ve ordered here so far(especially the fried rice) is really good. Needless to say, I’ll be back at least once in a week or two.

Green Basil and I have a love-hate relationship. Love because, well, the food is really good. Price is average for a restaurant around here around $ 9 – 11 for an entrée. I certainly wouldn’t say I hate the restaurant by any means, but since it’s a little mom and pop place, it’s closed on the weekends which is a bummer since it’s really the only Thai place in the area despite the nearby Commons and Agoura shopping centers. It’s better for takeout since it’s very small inside and not really a place you’d want to have a leisurely meal. Take out can be slow since there’s one lady who works the counter and serves, and about one person cooking. I usually give my order an extra 5 – 10 minutes from the projected time.

Alright, I did it again. Didn’t plan on it happening, I stuffed myself. This is your basic, by no means fancy, causal neighborhood Thai restaurant with delicious dishes and good service. It’s off the beaten path so ya gotta know where it is. There’s a bunch of apartments across the street and we saw lots of take out orders happening, so I’m guessing the word is out. Within 15 minutes of arriving, we were eating our meals. My hubby ordered Nam Sod, which was ground chicken seasoned with fresh ginger, onion, peanuts and a chili lime dressing. Fresh carrots and lettuce we served on the side. I would have preferred romaine lettuce to iceberg, however, that’s just me. We also ordered the pad Thai which was seasoned well however, the chicken was a bit tough. The green beans dish with garlic and tofu was amazing. The beans were tender crisp and the garlic flavor was just right. We requested the yellow curry with tofu and brown rice, yummy, that was my favorite dish here. Despite the other reviews of poor service, that was not the case tonight. We’ll be back, it’s a great little spot.

For the price you can not beat this place. The portions are very good for what you pay here. Most entrees being under 10 $ still is more than enough for one person. The wait time is not long for food so it is a great place to go if you are on a shorter lunch. Service is attentive and will accommodate to menu changes if you please.

Just like most of the other reviews: great food/poor service. I tried to go to lunch here, but was TURNEDAWAY because I was only 1 person and the only available table was a 4-top! So, the 2 guys that walked in AFTER me got to sit down and eat. They did offer to sit me outside. NOTE: it’s 107 degrees and I would be the only person sitting outside. Other than that, they offered no other suggestions – they let me walk out the door. They could learn a thing or two about customer service. I typically order lunch Togo and have learned my lesson – do not attempt to dine in if you are only 1 person. I may return(take out only), but due to poor service and lack of accommodations, I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

For being in Calabasas this place is really inexpensive compared to other Thai places and they are pretty good too. Portion is just a little smaller so I guess that’s why it’s a little cheaper lol but so far everything I’ve tried was delicious except for the last time I go drunked noodles, it was overcooked and the noodles was a little soggy. I will continue to go here when I’m in the area and I’ll give other items a try.

A very modest restaurant with a few tables for eating there, I’m guessing Green Basil does more of a take-out service. That being said, we ate there. There are two cooks in the back and one person up front who does everything else. While the food is very good, the service is not so good because this one waitress has to field telephone calls for takeout, take orders from dining-in patrons, provide beverages, write up food orders, bring out the food orders once filled, close out/ring up food bills… you getting the idea? Poor girl is waaaaaaaaaay overworked, and thus, the service is somewhat slow. That being said, the food is very tasty and well prepared. We ordered Tom Kha Kai soup with chicken, as well as garlic chicken, garlic green bean with beef, pad thai with shrimp, and red curry chicken and vegetables. The dishes were authentic and very well prepared. All vegetables were perfectly crisp/tender. The crunch on the green beans was amazing. Meats were tender and not overly cooked. All flavors were well represented… with the exception of one. Unfortunately, the red curry had no flavor. A little spice, yes, but not the wonderful curry flavor that I have come to know and love. It was kind of watery, too… I’m used to a thicker sauce. That being said, no appreciable flavor. Yet, the chicken and vegetables in it were excellent in texture. All other dishes we ordered were right on point with flavor. Just the red curry lacked. Honestly, while the red curry issue may have been off the night we went, I think the service issue is ongoing. I don’t know how busy they are at other times, but even though it’s very small inside, that girl needs more help. She can’t do it ALL herself. Owners… please take note.

This is one of those places that has my head scratching. We ordered: –Rad Na(no meat) –Pad See Ew –Pad Thai –Yellow Curry(with chicken). prices were fair, and service was quick. The pad see ew was definitely the best of the bunch. great flavor, wasn’t too greasy. When we asked for the rad na with no meat, we were asked if we would like to sub for tofu. We then asked if it was possible to add scramble eggs to the noodle(kind of like how they do it with pad thai or pad see ew) and the reaction we got was literally, «ew no that would be weird.» Granted, egg in rad na could be weird, but I do not think that is a judgement call you should make to a potential customer. Let me be weird and order eggs, noodle and gravy. The gravy, btw was very bland, though they did provide extra veggies, which we appreciated. The pad thai and yellow curry had great flavor, but I go back to the meat factor in our culinary equation. The meat was very bland and«meh.» I have eaten at many Thai places in my life, and I was surprised by the lack of flavor in the meat(no marinating I get it, but at least season it a little or something. Even a little soy sauce would help). There were thicker cuts of chicken too, so that only added to the lack of depth in flavor. Overall, try this place, but don’t get meat. Hard to suggest this place when Santa Fe is right next door.

I would drive by this restaurant every now and then and see how busy it gets. I like small family owned restaurants, so one night my husband and I decided to go. It was a Tuesday night around 4:30 and they were already out of chicken satay and game hen. So disappointed, we started off with a bowl of the glass noodle soup(it had ground chicken meat balls) I got a cup of the hot and spicy shrimp soup(too sour where it made my teeth hurt), Chicken pad Thai, Chicken larb and Chicken with string beans. It was all good but I wish we got the satay and game hen. Next time when we go I’ll call in to make sure they have the items we want.
