I love Pollo Tropical, however… I ordered online because it is kind of far from where I work I so I figured I would order online, and be able to make it back to work in my allotted amount of lunch time. I arrive at the restaurant, I tell the lady at the register that I am here to pick up my order from online, her face goes blank like she had no idea what I was talking about. She asked the young girl working with her. The young girl gets my order and proceeds to tell me they didn’t have avocado so she just didn’t put it on there. I told her that I ordered the guava bbq chicken and she said«No you ordered avocado.» So I decided not to argue with her and leave it. So she hands me the bag of food and says, «Wait, your guava cheesecake.» as she looks in the little cooler under the counter, «We don’t have any down here so I’ll have to bake it, do you want something else?» I said no I want the cheesecake, she rolled her eyes turns around and THEREIS A CHEESECAKESITTINGONTHECOUNTER! She cut the entire thing before giving me my piece. I got the cheesecake and left. I just don’t understand, the whole point of ordering online is so that you have everything ready by the time I get there. Seriously the food is amazing but I will NOT be coming back to this location.

Please never eat at this place. I used to eat here a lot until one day I went in with my fiancé and friend. As I’m ordering I noticed a cockroach at the same time an employee noticed it, her eyes got really big but she acted as if she didn’t see it and proceeded to take orders. I’m sorry but if there’s cockroaches walking around on surfaces where food is being prepped in the middle of a busy day then there must be an infestation! It’s a shame because I used to enjoy pollo tropical.

This is my first time at Pollo Tropical and it was excellent! The chicken was perfectly cooked along with our sides of beans and rice. The rice has to be my favorite. It was this«tropical» taste with a hint of lemon. The inside makes it look like so beach-y Can’t wait to return!

Pollo tropical has the BEST chicken ever. I’ve tried to clone the recipe at home, but have failed every time. Everything on their menu tastes like authentic Caribbean. You wouldn’t even know that Pollo Tropical was a «fast food» restaurant. Their black beans and rice are perfect, every time I eat there I buy an extra large side of black beans and throw them in my freezer so that I can serve them at home to make an ordinary meal, extraordinary! My only complaint is that I wish a location was closer to me! I live about a half of hour away from the nearest pollo, which makes it hard for me to get my Pollo Tropical fix. Please consider building one on Cape Coral Parkway!

Caribbean/Spanish/Cuban inspired fast food restaurant. Good chicken and sides but sometimes hit or miss. Meaning, not as fresh under the sun lamp like other fast food joints.

I have only been here twice despite living here for 10 years. After hearing such great things about it, I had to try. I tried the tropi chop the first time and loved it! So much so that I ordered it on my second trip. The food is excellent and the service is always friendly and prompt. I really like that they have healthy options if you want. For example you can get brown rice if you’d like or lettuce instead of rice in the tropi chop. They also have great toppings like peppers and onions, tomatoes and jalapenos. I have not ventured to try all the sauces, but based on some of the other reviews I most certainly will! I will definitely be checking this place out more often!

This location is usually always very good when we visit Cape Coral. The staff are always very friendly, they seem very clean and on top of things, the food is always hot and fresh… plus it’s just awesome! Highly recommend this location to anyone passing by.

We have always loved this place… delicious food and they always have menu changes with special items. The chicken is being grilled where you can see it and the Mojo pork is one of my favorites! BUTBUTBUT yesterday my daughter had almost finished her side Caesar salad & then found a HUGELADYBUG in her bowl!!! YIKES! The biggest lady bug we have ever seen! We told the bus boy to show this to the manage & he shrugged & smiled and said a lady bug won’t hurt you! We waited for a while and nothing happened so I went to the counter, not wanting to cause a scene with other customers up there. I told the girl at the counter who told the manager. he came out & apologized and said casually… yes I’ve seen it before, it happens!!! He offered a replacement or something else but we declined since my daughter ran to the bathroom to throw up. I asked for a refund for her dinner & he did so right away & apologized again. BUT it seemed to us that he was not surprised about the lady bug being in the lettuce and well, ITHAPPENS. HOWOFTEN I wondered? Very disappointed because we LOVED this place but if we return I might be picking through my food looking for bugs! Maybe just not order anything with LETTUCE!

Well I got a buy one get one free coupon via e-mail. I forgot how good this place is. Avoid all those fast burger and pizza places For 5 bucks get a BBQ grilled chicken and rice & black bean. Perfect for the uninitiated Floridian taste buds. But if you have the required need of spicy food they have the sauces for you. Most busy on sundays. But great quick service good choices on the menu.

Went in for lunch today and a white male that spoke perfect English took our order. Must have been a manager. Food was out in 2 minutes and was best chicken around. Sides and condiment sauces are great also. We noticed we were even eating on plates and had real silverware. They are expanding and hope the open 1 in our hood. 2 full meals &2 sodas $ 17 and no tipping. Great value for such high quality food.

PHENOMENAL. I struggle to believe this is fast food. I would move to Florida just so I could have Pollo Tropical ev-er-y DAY! We got a mega-carryout the day before Christmas to last us while the world shut down, and I even ended up taking a container of chicken and rice on the plane home with me! It’s good. So good. I don’t even know if I can write a coherent review, because all I keep thinking about is my tropichop with chicken and jalapeños and yellow rice with veggies and salad and beans and that condiment bar where I loaded up 100 containers of more jalapeños and the best salsa I’ve ever had and… no, no I can’t write a review. Just go and eat it all for me!

A-mazing! Pollo Tropical’s food was always at the top of my list, now so is there service. They now take your order and cash you out, then you get to grab a table and relax. Their server comes and brings you your meals and any requests you made. I had a very plesant experience. Only suggestion to the upgrade is that they allow their servers/bussers to accept tips. They were nice, friendly, and attentive. To top it all off, I was able to feed my family of 6, for $ 26.45. :)

Look man, I go here and get the ¼ chicken falling off the bone and grilled to perfection with rice and beans. I add the free onions to everything and the guava BBQ sauce over it all. I am out the door only paying $ 5.15… WTF, you cant beat that! Tough economy and I can eat out on the cheap.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better it does! You now order your food and they bring it to you and serve it on nice plates. I tried the chicken tropichop for the first time and it was soooo good! My son had the beans and rice with Chicken and cheese and it came with juice and ice cream for $ 4.99. The plantains were spot on and delicious. I wish they would put one in Ft Myers so I don’t have to drive so far!

**EDIT* I’ve noticed that the neon sign in the front is either gone, or turned off. No more trying to compete with Taco Bell???* I have an update to my update! This Pollo Tropical location has a neon sign in the front, proclaiming that they’re open late. One recent night I drove up to the place and the place looked open. That bright neon sign was on, the store lights were on, it all looked normal. I drove up to the box where you place your order and I was greeted by a voice that offered me something. I politely declined and then waited for a person to tell me to go ahead with my order. I waited, and I waited, and I waited. All the while, I’m looking at the car ahead of me. Obviously, they’re open, there’s another car here. Finally that car pulls away and leaves. I’m still here, waiting. Isn’t anyone going to talk to me? I wait a little longer and then pull my car around to the window. Eventually, someone inside notices me, and mouths to me «we’re closed». No sorry. No chance for me to ask why they still have all the lights on? Why the place still looks open? They couldn’t tell me that they were closed five minutes before when I pulled up to the order station? This is why there aren’t more Pollo Tropicals.
