So, so sorry to see this great restaurant close. The food was fantastic and the owners were wonderful. I can only imagine that the poor location got the best of them.

Wonderful food here for sure. All of us were happy w our order. Friendly staff as well. Inside cute diner feel but menu and presentations of the food with an even higher quality chef noted. Great job!

Went on a Friday evening, the place was nice. The staff was eager to please and very polite. Just missed the happy hour which ended at 6:00, and they do not have a full liqueur license yet, so we had a draft beer and some wine. The food came out a little longer than probably should have, as it was not that crowded, a little over half full. I had a grilled chicken sandwich which was tender and very tasty. My son had the 1 –½ pounds of snow crab, again cooked right on the money, and the price was reasonable. My wife had the shrimp and chips, which was good. My Mom-in-Law got the Polynesian Scallops, a little to spicy for her. All in all, it was a nice place to go for dinner and the food was pretty good for the money.(Don’t forget to check in on Unilocal as they honor a 10% discount).

We just came in for lunch and wow, what a great meal. Really friendly wait staff and Dustin, the owner spent a good deal of time answering our questions. The food was fantastic! We had calamari appetizer that was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I had the island burger and it was the best burger I have had in the Cape. My wife had the pear salad and half my burger. The salad was attractively presented and tasted great. We can not wait to return.

Great food, great service. We shared the crab cakes as the appetizer and they were delicious. Served on a bed of greens and drizzled with a curried mayo. Entrees came with a small salad which was nice. I had the sea food trio which I thought was delicious. Shrimp, lobster tail, and a small piece of white fish that I can’t remember the name of. All three were cooked to perfection and very flavorable. My wife had the tilapia which was one of the specials. Tilapia was served with a pineapple sauce. We both had Island rice and slaw as our sides. Next time we are in Cape Coral we will return.

Like others have said, it isn’t the easiest place to find. It’s located on the corner of Santa Barbara and Nicholas Pkwy. BEHIND the gas station. It’s at the end of an L-shaped strip mall. First impressions of the surroundings were good. It’s decorated with a fun and festive island theme. I especially liked the parrots found on each table that ensure there isn’t a «lost shaker of salt»…or pepper for that matter. The music was subdued this Sunday afternoon but I heard Jimmy B. sing that very song at one point. Brunch is offered during limited hours on weekends. I decided to indulge in Eggs Benedict. Each component was on point with one exception — there was too much lemon juice in the hollandaise sauce. It came with breakfast potatoes and fruit. The fruit serving was very small. Having said that, I enjoyed the fresh pineapple and red raspberries. My husband had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. It was nicely seasoned and prepared. He enjoyed the waffle fries that came with this sandwich. The highlight of the meal came with dessert. Their regular dessert menu looked promising but we couldn’t resist one of the specials: Red Velvet Cheesecake. This dessert has two layers of red velvet cake with a layer of cheesecake in the middle, which is iced with cream cheese frosting. They garnished the cake with whipped cream. I DIDN’T LICKTHEPLATEBUTITWASTEMPTING! BONUS: We received an offer for 10% off our check for checking in with Unilocal.Woot!

Pickled Parrot Island Grill, Santa Barbara Blvd, Cape Coral, FL., Here is my 2 cents on the food, chit chat and random thoughts. Today I ordered the seafood omelet with hollandaise sauce…13BUCKS I have been here twice before. I was really looking forward to this dish. WOW was I disappointed. As a cook or a chef you need to know how to make a fluffy egg omelet. This is a requirement if you are to be a chef at least in France. I am not a trained per se chef in America, but I know how to make a omelet. First for this price I should get 2 large eggs or 3 medium eggs. This was not .I thought it would be maybe stuff with seafood. NOPE. I only saw one medium size shrimp. They other stuff was TOO small to know. Taste was ok. The side of potatoes was a joke. They were overcooked and dry. It was also a small portion. Less then a half of a average potatoe. I know. I had just sliced up some potatoe for a pot roast to be eaten this Sunday. The fresh fruit cup was fine but again the portion was what sick people get in the hospital. Been there done that. Service ehhh. 1115AM Sunday. 1 server 2 tables seated. I had to wait 5 minutes to seat myself. Another five for a menu. I will allow you my readers to make any conclusions. Note: I am a retired law enforcement officer. I deal only with the fact as they appear.

We went here because it was the top rated place in the cape and we wanted to try something new. Wow, it didn’t disappoint… great food in a casual atmosphere. All 3 generations of the family enjoyed it and talked about it all the following day. We’ll be back for sure.

Happened upon The Pickled Parrot during a Unilocal search. This gem is tucked away in a strip mall and is definitely worth finding. The appetizers were excellent. The potstickers and tsunami shrimp were so good. The chowder was tremendous. The presentation was top notch. The lobster tails and filet were really good. The paella with the dirty rice was exceptional. Did I mention the bread? A must ask. The deserts didn’t disappoint. Make sure you leave room and if you don’t make some. The service was excellent so make sure you ask for Heidi. The prices were very reasonable. Will definitely be back as this is one of the true finds in Cape Coral.

Decided on trying this restaurant after reading the Unilocal reviews. First it is tucked away in a small shopping center. The inside is decorated very modern with a tropical flair. The service was good & quick. I ordered can the pins colada pork chop with the island slaw & green beans. The island slaw was very good, slightly sweet & a little spicy. The green beans were delicious, but they were a special side this night. I was expecting the pork chop to be a little tastier then it was, but it was still good. The concept was good but it was missing a little something. The teriyaki chicken was very good. The special that night was filet & lobster tail, 2 people in our party ordered this & loved it. They serve beer & wine, but I was confused by the waitresses description of the cocktails they make. I would definitely go back, it’s worth checking out.

This little out of the way place has become one of my faves and I eat here regularly. All the food is great and the owners and staff are always around chatting and inquiring about the food. Everything on the menu is good and the dishes are imaginative and well presented. Of particular note for me is their seafood chowder(Manhattan style). This soup is simply sensational and I have it EVERY time I go there. I’d love to take a bucket home Maybe they should get 5 stars…

Tried out this cute little new spot tonight and what a pleasant surprise!!! Tucked away in a strip plaza on the corner of Santa Barbara and Nicholas this restaurant is a soon to be discovered hidden gem! Love the tropical«parrot» décor and friendly staff! Let’s get down to business, the food, its awesome! The presentation was surprisingly gorgeous and the food was delish! I had the teriyaki garlic panga with island rice and black beans, so so good! If you get a chance to try the Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake DOIT(promise you won’t regret it)

I love to try new places. This isn’t only new to me, but new to Cape Coral. I’m not really familiar with the location, as I’m usually down in the southern part of Cape Coral where my parents live. The Pickled Parrot is located at the end of a strip mall that looks fairly new construction. We arrive for lunch on a Tuesday & there was only one other couple in the restaurant. We were greeted by one of the managers & sat immediately. Our server came over & welcomed us & told us about a some of the menu items that she enjoyed. She mentioned a salmon sandwich & said it was her favorite. I had to really think about what I was going to decide on because a lot of the options sounded great. I went with the salmon sandwich because I’d already been eyeing it. We also ordered the potstickers as an appetizer. The potstickers came out about 7 minutes later on a long, rectangle plate. You can tell that they really care about the presentation. Flowers for garnish, & the potstickers looked great. They tasted great too, served with a sweet & sour sauce. After we devoured the potstickers, our entrees came. I wasn’t expecting much other than a salmon fillet on a bun, this was much better! They put pickled onions on it. I’m usually not a fan of onions but I really liked these. They weren’t as crunchy as normal onions & had a sweet flavor. It also had a sauce on the salmon which really tied everything together. I loved the salmon sandwich. We’ve actually recreated it at home, it was that good. I picked waffle fries as my side & was a little disappointed in the amount you get for the side. There was probably 3 pieces of fries, consisting of 3 fries stuck together. Phillip got a fish sandwich he liked, & some kind of slaw that was just okay. A small side as well. Overall I’m really glad we tried this place. It’s new & I think it has the potential to do well in Cape Coral through word of mouth. We will be back to try some other items on the menu & hope the sides are a little more generous next time. Also, you get ten percent off your order with your first check in!
