I initially wasn’t going to write a review, but I feel that I should to make sure people don’t experience the same thing I did. The salon was clean and Valerie was friendly, but my gel manicure was sub-​par, especially for $ 38. After 1 day, the gel polish started peeling off my nails and I had to get it done fresh elsewhere because it looked awful. My gel manicures typically last for 2+ weeks and NEVER peel off — it usually just grows out. I left a voicemessage to explain what had happened and requested a full refund for the service. I received a call back from Valerie and she didn’t even apologize. She just said that she would issue the refund. I wouldn’t have written this review if she had apologized. This whole ordeal was a total inconvenience. Ladies, don’t get your gel manicure done here. I can’t speak on behalf of her other services.

I got a great mani/​pedi here. Valarie is one of the best. Super cute place and a total gem. Not too many of these places anymore. They are almost extinct. Thanks to the quickie nail shops on every corner.
Please support this business so we can keep around for a long time! I will be back!

There needs to be something better than 5 stars. I will continue to go here every time I get my nails done. It was clean and fresh. The girls were talkative and charismatic while still being meticulous in their work. They have more colors to choose from than I have seen in a while. My nails look great. I am trying to find any cons to list here and I really can’t. Book an appointment!

Polished is tucked away on Burlingame Avenue and it truly is one of the best kept secrets in the area. Not only is it absolutely adorable it is also very clean and sanitary. The ambiance is so perfect and you truly feel like you are getting a luxurious treatment. I have seen Ericka and she is fabulous. She always has wonderful suggestions for what colors to do and takes her time doing a thorough manicure and pedicure. If I could give her more than 5 stars I would. Please go here… you will thank me later.

Polished is the best salon in Burlingame, hands down! I’ve been going there for manicures and pedicures for over 5 years, and Ericka and Melinda have become personal friends of mine. They are professional and fun and have made Polished elegant and inviting. I highly recommend Polished!

I found Heather Boswell at Polished through my skincare specialist who, sadly, moved to Portland (we miss you Jocelyn!). Thank goodness she left me with a referral to Heather!
I have a wedding coming up in a month, and Heather is doing a wonderful job of getting my skin and brows in shape. I’ve had one session with her so far and I’m happy with the results. I had a bit of irritation after waxing, but we’re going to remedy that with a different type of treatment next time. And extractions are never a pleasant thing, but Heather is completely empathetic and gives you a moment to «breathe» during the procedure.
I also love the Tu’el products that Heather uses, and in fact invested in the «Vitamin Kit.» And how’s this for client service — the kit accidentally shipped to Heather instead of me, and she made the trip out to my house to drop it off!
On top of all of this, Heather is a lovely person. I felt completely at ease with her.
Two more appointments to go before the wedding!

Polished is the best kept secret in Burlingame! I thought twice about Unilocaling them because as much as I want them to do well, I don’t want everyone to know about it — that’s how good it is.
Polished is relaxing, beautiful and peaceful; it’s 2 gals that love what they do, studied art, design and fashion, worked for others in nail salons for years and saved up to start their own boutique-​salon together above Copenhagen restaurant on Burlingame Ave.
My nails were in bad shape so I went along for the ride with my wife for a manicure while she got the full treatment. The treatment was awesome! (I know I’m a guy and should be out throwing a ball around or something but the treatment was great and since they have a lot of guy clients it made me feel comfortable.) When I looked at my wife, her hands and feet looked sexy as hell! What’s more, the bill was under $ 70 FOR BOTH OF US! (If you’ve gotten a manicure and pedicure lately, you know what that means.)
You can and will pay more elsewhere but you won’t find a better place to get your nails done — anywhere! I’m fussy and I’m telling you, these guys are not the best known, just the best!

Polished (formerly SERENE SALON) has provided the best and healthiest services I have received. With all the hoopla about salons, I have NEVER once been concerned about the health & welfare as a client.
From Manicure/​pedi to facial and more, this is the place you want to go if you have ANY concerns about safety/​cleanness and great service. Melinda & Ericka are the ones to help you. Highly recommend this business, owners, and staff.
