Thought twice about going here on our way to Ikea, but they delivered! For an affordable unassuming restaurant, this place is deelish. Our shrimp(in lobster sauce) were cleaned and cooked perfectly plump and the veggies in our pan fried noodles retained crunch and flavor. I took a suggestion from another reviewer and got the pork spareribs appetizer — they were sticky delicious moist and tender. I was pleasantly surprised!

I drove up at noon and noticed the emptiness of the street as well as the parking. I decided to walk in anyway and once I was inside nothing felt the same… I walked out… Turns out The lease was up for the building so they decided to move out. No further details… Boy am I glad they still have Frontier Wok Too. Guess where I’m typing this from??? In all honesty I did not taste the food so try it for your self to find out…

New Management are assholes! I have been going here for over 10 years, while it was still Frontier Wok. Food might be a little better but never have I been so disrespected as a customer. I was sitting at a table by myself. A party of 6 came in. So the manager pulled my table, this is while I’m still eating, over to another table and had this party of strangers sit down with me! Avoid, Avoid, Avoid! Lots of other Chinese restaurants to choose from. I used to eat there once every 2 weeks, but never again. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!

New owners which means new name. They call this place Western Wok now, and let me tell you the place is better than before! New coat of paint on the walls, nice spacious cooking area that is actually visible, nice polite server, and best of all de-fucking-licious food! The fam bam and I tried the orange chicken, tender and juicy with just the right amount of sweetness. Don’t you hate it when you go to a Chinese food joint, order the orange chicken and it tastes like they dipped that shit in molasses, sugar, syrup and fucking Splenda? Well not here it was just right. Also ordered the double mushroom chicken, two types of mushrooms, tasty chicken and a gang of vegetables, yes I said«gang» because I’m in a 90’s type of mood, don’t judge. Oh yeah tried some noodle dish called Chow Fun, I know it sounds like something you ask for at a happy ending massage parlor but it’s actually a flat noodle dish which is bomb dizzle… yup still in that 90’s mood. $ 28 bucks later we were satisfied and had enough to take take home for a couple of lunches. Love this place so much I feel like rocking out with my wok out.

Under new management/ownership. New menu items a lot of old items are gone — bao and the west noodles are the 2 that come to mind. Regardless, I ordered the teriyaki chicken. It was good but different. They lightly fried it then dumped a bunch of sauce on it. The honey walnut shrimp was good! They have a lunch special now where you get a small entrée with an egg roll, soup, and rice(steamed). Thai iced tea is good. No free refills on soda — it’s all canned at the moment . All in all it was OK. Saving grace was the honey walnut shrimp. However, I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

Must try the Singapore rice if you like spicy and curry. Very aromatic and spicy! Chow mein delish, garlic fish and eggplant garlicky and yummy!

Drove by and noticed the sign has changed outside. It’s no longer Frontier Wok, it’s Western something.

This location is closed! When you call it automatically goes to the the Olive location… We ordered from here a week ago and it was so much better than usual! When I called to order again I discovered why it had been so good… and that was because we had gotten the food from the Olive location. Everything was delicious: Orange chicken, Chicken fried rice, Basil beef, Shrimp w/Veggies. Yummmmm

This is the perfect place for lunch breaks since it’s close to work. Competition size portions, cheap and fast. Favorite items, black pepper udon, singapore noodles and the complimentary cream cheese wonton. Keep in mind this is fast food therefore expect corresponding quality. Nonetheless, this place beats Panda Express any day. UPDATE: Oh nooo! I just went there and got bad news. Due to the lease ending, this location will close for good on July 5. Their other location Frontier Wok Too on Olive will remain open. This is horrible. I don’t want to go all the way to Olive. Oh Well, we’ll order derivery, hehe.

Wifey and I have been coming here for over 17 years… We order the same thing every time. Large orange chicken, small Mongolian beef, and pan fried noodles. I like to get the orange chicken extra crispy. I have never had bad order yet.

I’ve eaten here a few times and each time I walk away thinking, that was pretty good for the value. The prices here are low, but the quality and flavor of the food is pretty good as is the service which is fast and friendly. I ordered the Kung Pao Beef. The meat was sooooo tender you could easily cut it with a fork. The sauce was flavorable too. My other friends thought the food was great as well. The prices seem low to me. I’d recommend this to anyone looking for good Chinese food at a real bargain price… and it sat well in my stomach. Thank God!

Yuck. Every time my husband asks to order from here, I shutter. It’s gross. Whatever their base sauce is(my guess is fish/soy sauce, sugar, and cornstarch), it’s all over everything. All of the food tastes like this ancient Chinese syrup. *blech*. I guess if you have a sugary, simple, bland palate, this is the place is FORYOU!!! So I tried to go out on a limb tonight and try their«Happy Family», which in the menu is described as being«mixed vegetables, chicken, shrimp and scallops». Hmmm. I think I’m renaming this dish«Sad Face». It ended up being leftover mushrooms, some veggies, chicken, rubbery shrimp, and ARTIFICIALCRABMEAT, drowned in that house specialty ancient Chinese syrup. It’s cheap, but you get what you pay for. This junk can’t be good for you…

Frontier Wok is always a pleasure — the service is friendly, the food preparation is very quick, and the prices are reasonable and fair. It’s hard to single out any particular food, everything they have is great.

Located right next to The Hollywood Way and across the street from one of the GREATEST pizza joints ever(Dinos) is Frontier Wok. Parking is plenty and easy to find located where the road«forks». Nice workers and the kitchen is exposed so you can see your food being prepared and served fresh and hot. Went there after a nice long run to have a good meal and first thing I Want to order and did was the hot and sour soup, which may have been one of the greatest I’ve ever had. It was thick and full of flavor with the right amount of kick as to not kill the full flavor of the soup. For the entrée I ordered Mongolian beef which was good, All Entrees come with a side of soup =). It’s usually my go to dish because I can compare it to others I’ve had in the past and it wasn’t bad but not mind blowing either.

I’m not sure if the ownership is different but this place has taken a major dump over the last year or so. I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years but I will never go back. The place is a filthy mess! The bathrooms are dirty and soiled with urine. The interior of the restaurant is dirty. The tables and booths are STICKY. There was bubble gum under the table and food that appeared 5 years old in between the booths. Now for the worst part. The kitchen is a filthy, disgusting mess. If the owner/management does not take pride in the cleanliness of their kitchen, bathroom and overall appearance of their establishment, this is a MAJORREDFLAG! This says a lot about their commitment to provide their customers with healthy fresh food… or lack there of. I’m only slamming this place because I’m so disappointed that they’ve allowed this to happen to a restaurant that I once considered to be the best Chinaman food in Burbank. Eat here at your own risk!!!

Back after a long absence! Still just as good as it was years ago when I lived in the area and ordered delivery every Friday night! This time I ordered the Mongolian beef lunch special and at $ 10, you get a ton of beef, rice, salad, and those famous cream cheese wontons! Over half the plate was covered by beef. I was so excited that I forgot to take the damn picture! Sorry guys, I slipped up and I am aware of the error. I will fix that problem in the future.

Interesting place to eat at. It’s an American Chinese restaurant but the décor looks like something out of the old west(or out of an old Old Country Buffet restaurant). The ladies here that serve you are really nice. The food here is OK. Don’t expect the world — it’s your generic American Based Chinese cuisine. I’ve noticed you usually find something glistening, something deep fried, and some white rice on the side. Tastes good because as a human being you can’t help but resist the sweet and salty flavors. Fight the urge though — it’s not good for you — though it may taste good. That’s just a PSA I’d like to throw out there. Regardless, I liked the place. It’s mad cheap and the décor is mad quirky. My biggest complaint is the bathroom. Man is it jacked up! Throw some bleach on that sheeeeeeeet. I felt dirtier leaving the restroom than when I went in. which is guess makes sense? That’s all review over. I hope you’re on your way to eat here.

Blah rice and blah orange chicken. I should’ve known better than to step up to the counter to order when my first feeling of this restaurant was that it reeked of old American Chinese food. If you have never experienced old American Chinese food. You should consider yourself lucky. When I think old American Chinese food, images of chock fooey restaurants that look like diners but have servers who speak to you in a heavy Cantonese accent. Think Jackie Chan. Early Jackie Chan before he spoke a word of English and the words are like out of every Chinese stereotype out there. «Fing Fong Fooey!» Back to the food and décor. It’s a clean restaurant and the booths look to be pretty nice. But I had takeout. The service here is actually really warm and the person taking my order was nice. I got my food, went to my meetup, and dun dun DUN! Rice tasted like it was two days old and my chicken was dry. I ate the chicken since it wasn’t sandpaper dry and still had some of the sweetness that orange chicken should have. I probably wouldn’t ever go there again unless someone told me they’ve tweaked their food options. I’d probably go to Panda before I come here again.(I actually don’t mind Panda) And as for it being a budget option according to other reviewers? It’s not bargain Chinese food by a long shot if I’m coming from the SGV.

I was looking at some of the places I have been where I have checked in via a mobile application, uploaded photos or left tips on facebook and twitter. I had not written a review on this place. Seems a little off base as I have eaten here dozens of times. There have been some weeks where I have eaten here two times in a week. Short and simple: Great menu range that works well. Something for everybody. Lightning service. The more busy they are the faster they are. Lunch hour is always packed yet the service is faster than you could imagine. Very friendly staff. Great food and their hot and sour soup is the best I have had from any Chinese restaurant in Los Angeles. Moo Goo Gai Pan, Lemon Chicken, Basil Beef, Mongolian Beef, Sesame Chicken, Scallops… some of my personal favorites. One of my boys likes their noodle dishes and shrimp dishes. The other one of my boys goes for the steamed veggies with brown rice and either tofu or chicken with the Kung Pao sauce. Won Ton soup is filled with all sorts of nice things. They do a big take out business as well and they also deliver. Outstanding place that has become something of our neighborhood go to place on a regular basis.

What the heck, how are people giving this place 4⁄5 stars??? Ordered the eggplant and tofu. I’ll say their portion is more than enough for a small, but the sauce… was sugar and cornstarch on top of what they used in the sweet and sour soup that I had right before my meal!!! W.T.F.?! We also ordered a kung pao chicken, where the chicken came off rubbery and overly cornstarched as well with some sauce. At least sauce was remotely edible, but with rubbery chicken, not even a good sauce can save it. The waitress was offended we each didn’t finish even 50% of our respective dishes. Was tempted to tell them it tasted horrible(yes, I could have said it in Cantonese as they spoke Cantonese there), but we opted to just pay the bill… just to not have to eat anymore of this sad sad stuff. Yea…me thinks not! Sad that about 5 years ago, I loved this place that I used to come by 3−4x a month. Bummer…
