When I was seven years old, I stopped being able to see the chalkboard at the front of my class. Main Optical wasn’t my first stop for glasses. For that first pair, my family dutifully shuttled down to Sterling Optical, then occupying prime real estate in the Boulevard Mall. For my second pair of glasses, we visited Phil Best at Main Optical, and we haven’t looked back. In the time Phil Best has occupied his shop just off of Main Street, the street has been widened, bars have come and gone, children have grown up, moved away, and started families of their own. Throughout, he has provided the same level of dependable service, expertly and comprehensively walking customers through the selection of lenses, frames, contacts, accessories, and so forth. He offers support for his frames and lenses throughout their lifetime and also boasts a room ready to perform eye examinations once a week(I believe). Phil carries a fairly wide selection of high end and more affordable frames considering the size of his shop, but fashionistas may require him to order less conventional frames. This location is only open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at present. He operates another location Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
