Absolutely the BEST guacamole this side of the border, hands-down! None of that chili or jalapeño nonsense… just outstanding, fresh guacamole. I highly recommend the chicken Juan Salad… it is excellent and the chicken is very moist and tender. Pretty much everything we’ve had there is good, though the shrimp with mushrooms and garlic used to be better; now they don’t sauté it quite enough and the mushrooms are rubbery, the shrimp is done but not flavorful. Hopefully they will go back to the way they used to prepare this otherwise delicious dish. Also very good value for the money. Juan the owner and his wife Rosie are both wonderful people, very hardworking and warm, as is Rosie Hernandez, another worker there. The only downside is the bathrooms… they are always freezing cold and are in dire need of an update and cleaning. I give it a five out of five, however.

We ordered chicken tostadas for dinner and when we received them, they consisted of a corn tortilla with what tasted like canned chicken with some shredded ice burg lettuce and chopped tomatoes. I asked for no onions so it might have had those, but there were no beans or cheese or salsa or anything else to give it any flavor. I asked for some beans and some salsa that wasn’t as hot as the stuff that was on the table, and the waitress did bring be some runny beans and some«salsa» that was more like tomato sauce. The waitress was very nice and we have no complaints about the service, but if this is any indication of what the rest of their menu is like, I am surprised that they can stay in business. We will not go there again if we are in Buellton.

My friend and i were the first customer of the day so it was quite clean. We shared an enchilada plate. The rice and beans could have been more tasty but overall a great value. Small charge for extra chips n salsa.

I had never been to Tonos before, and some friends were in town so we went and the food was EXCELLENT! I could actually say that the Chille Relleno was the BEST I have ever eaten, and I have eaten quite a few in my lifetime. My son had soft taco’s and he said they were great!, Another friend had carne asada and loved it too. We will be visiting this place again. Yes it is dimly lit inside, but it was the FOOD we were there for. The server was great, attentive to us making sure we had everything we needed. The food was reasonably priced. Three of us ate a meal, desert plus one beer for less than 40 bucks, I call that a good deal! Cant wait to go back for more relleno’s…

This is a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant, so not very clean nor decorated very well unless you like the 60’s! Place needs paint and refurbishment. The good news is that the food was very good. We had white fish with mole sauce and rib eye stake. Both cooked correctly. Kids had bean burritos. The refried beans taste like they use bacon grease to refry them. Quite tasty but not very healthy. The waitress was young and inexperienced so service was not attentive but we got our food in a reasonable time. So bottom line it is a somewhat dirty hole in the wall with great food at a reasonable price with OK service.

Very good authentic Mexican food. I will admit needs a lot of updating for the décor. You don’t get charged for extra chips or refills on your drinks as stated in an earlier post. I would recommend this place

Smelly and dirty, dirty, DIRTY! Gagggg! My food was gross. Got a quesadilla for my toddler and it was super oily and greasy. Server was so sweet and personable but I’d NEVER go back. Yuck.

family friendly, great food. I felt like the place was clean just could use some fresh paint and a little modernization. But hey its Buellton ave of the flags… what else do you expect??? We were hungry and it worked :)

Charged for extra chips, charged for a refill ice tea. Lunch should not cost $ 14 for one person at a place like this. Yeah, I don’t live here, but don’t gouge me!

The place is really dirty. Like so filthy my daughter wouldn’t use the bathroom, and chose to use one at the rest stop on the highway. There is also a funky smell. The carpet is gross too. That said, the carna asada is like a little piece of heaven. It is absolutely the best carna asada I have EVER had. I dream about this. The rest of the food was meh. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. If they could just clean the place up and get on top of the smell, it would be a 5 star place.

Its just north of Anderson Split Pea, we didn’t feel like soup and there is not much else as far as sit down seating on this side of the highway! At 11:30 on Saturday morning there were about half dozen tables being served by one server, there was an odd small I notice as we were being seated. I asked my significant other to order me a cervasa as I made my way to the banuo. I found the odd smell ya know, the toilet paper in the trash can next to the toilet like in well down south ya know! I ordered the special two soft shell fish taco’s no rice or beans and oh we don’t have much time to spare as we are going to a wedding at 3PM an hour and a half away. Replied no problem The meal was good and we were there about half an hour. Tank You Tonos
