I really wanted to like this place. We booked a room on the third floor on the telephone. We got a call back later saying she had just booked that room for somebody else and needed to move us. Since they agreed to make scrapple for breakfast, we obliged and said will take whatever room you have available. Unfortunately, we assumed all of the rooms would be clean and in working order. When we arrived at 1:30 pm, the entire house and our room smelled like bacon(or some other breakfast meat). While the bed was comfortable, the room was in need of a good deep cleaning, and frankly could’ve even just use a vacuum run across the carpet. We were only staying one night, so we figured it wasn’t a big deal. Or so we thought. When we went to take showers in the morning, we realized the biggest problem. Not only was the water pressure horrific, but the temperature fluctuating wildly in the shower actually stopped flowing any water twice during a 10 minute shower. I stood there shivering for 20 to 30 seconds both times waiting for the water to come back on. I won’t go into details about the mildew on the shower curtain. When we approached the owner before we left and mentioned the shower and mildew, they simply said«thank you for telling us» and sent us on our way. $ 200 later, we would’ve been much happier at the Hampton Inn down the road.

This is a lovely house with spacious, beautiful rooms. It’s quite close to Doylestown, Lahaska, and New Hope, so very convenient for touring, but down a quiet country road, so you look out on pastures and lakes from your room. The breakfast is excellent, cooked to order and served in the enclosed porch overlooking the stream behind the house, or, if you’re lucky, in front of a fire in the sitting room. The hosts are lovely, friendly people and extremely flexible and accommodating. The whole experience of staying there is very warm and friendly, and it’s slightly less expensive than comparable B&Bs in the area. I highly recommend it.
