I went here just the other day with family and it was a DISGUSTING experience. The food was cold and tasted old. The cups for drinks were all dirty not one of them was clean. The silverware was filthy as well. The restaurant itself was very unkept and dirty. I will not be returning to this Luby’s ever again.

Letty Lopez provided great service. The food was great, too. We enjoyed the fried fish. This is one of the best Luby’s in the Rio Grande Valley and DFW area.

Luby’s is a cafeteria style line but everything was really fresh and wanted everything there lol but got the chicken fried steak. It was really good! Would recommend this Luby’s!!!

It is like a cafeteria. The food was good, I ate a BBQ chicken with a stuffed potato. The price is a little bit to hight for a self-service restaurant. The staff is friendly. I would give 5 stars for a better quality-price relation.

I’ve been eating at this Luby’s since I was an infant. I actually have memories of rolling a high chair along while going through the food line. As a child this restaurant was part of the Sunday family ritual: first Church, then Luby’s, maybe a visit to a friend’s house afterward. I remember learning to drive on Boca Chica while heading to Luby’s. Back then, the Sunday lunch line would be out the door. That’s why there is such a long, plant-lined atrium at the entrance — to protect patrons from the Brownsville weather. What can you say about the food? Yeah, it’s a cafeteria, but it’s worlds — no, Universes — better than Furr’s. For over forty years I’ve ordered the same thing, so I can really only offer a review on this one dish. The Lu Ann Platter with fried fish, mashed potatoes(no gravy), and macaroni & cheese — it’s excellent!
