Went with locals. Ordered what the locals were eating: Beef Fajita Nachos. Always go with what the locals tell you, they were great. Friendly, fun staff. We had a great time.

My wife and I stopped for lunch at 11:30 and we’re glad we did. By the time we left shortly after noon, the restaurant and parking lot were full. I had the Poncho Villa(3 enchiladas and 2 tacos). It was more than I could finish. My wife had a grilled chicken sandwich with ½ onion rings and ½ French fries. The onion rings were hand breaded and the French fries were hand cut. The chicken was juicy and tender. We will surely return.

Anytime I have a friend visiting from out of town, I bring them to Vermillion! I have been coming here for years and tried just about everything. It’s ALL good. They’re best known for their nachos and ceviche, but I also LOVE their fish tacos. The food and staff are amazing and it still has the same feel as I remember growing up.

The fajita nachos were recommended by the owner so i ordered them. When they arrived they were made with what tasted like Kraft cheese. They were cold and the meat was very dry. The worst part was that with guacamole a half order came out to $ 14! When I told the hostess that I was unhappy with the food she didn’t say anything. The service was nice but the food was really disappointing and over priced.

The ceviche was very good. The service staff were friendly and efficient. It was not too expensive and my party was very happy with the experience. I recommend the mushroom Swiss hamburgers as well and their Decked up Nachos.

Best enchiladas in the RGV. I am from San Antonio and have eaten the best and the enchiladas from Vermillion are right there with the very best SA has to offer. My whole family loves the food at Vermillion. Plus, the people who work there make for a great dining experience — they are super!

Este lugar si me ha gustado mucho tiene mucha variedad de platillos, muy sabrosa comida y te sirven bastante tienes que pedir una cajita para llevarte la mitad de tu comida. El único inconveniente para mi es que no tienen margaritas.

The ABSOLUTE best cheese enchiladas I have ever had! I order them everywhere. Everywhere. And these are, by far, the best. Also had the half order of the fajitas deluxe nachos — also great! If we are ever back in Brownsville, we will come here again!

We decided on this place because the Unilocal reviews were so good. We found it disappointing, or at least the food disappointing. Service was great. The guacamole was bland, and $ 3.25 for a small scoop. The salsa was mild with minimal flavor. The chicken nachos were ok, but over priced since you only got a small portion and it was over $ 10. They don’t have fresh jalapeños, but gave us a Serrano pepper and a knife so we had to cut it ourselves. They charged $ 3 for a small side of salsa and chips as well. I’ve never been to a Mexican food place where they charge for a basket of chips and salsa. The beer was cold, but expensive. For two of us to split a half order of nachos and drink three beers total between us it was $ 40, which included at $ 7 tip. I will say the staff was very friendly and fast. Not good enough food for us to go out of our way to go back.

This has been around for decades. It seems to be deteriorating through you from the architecture to the quality. The seafood used to seem fresh and full of flavor– now it tastes thawed and microwaved. Staff needs to work on customer service. they know how to play with their hair and chat with each other and on their phones though. Truly a disappointment.

This place was just awesome. Super friendly people and a rich history in the market. The ceviche was a kindness. Recommend the fajita nachos and adding the offered guacamole. Super good. Must try. A+++

Wowza the nachos are out of this world good! Drove all the way from San Antonio to give these a try; yup I’ll be back for more! Theres plenty of nachos in one full order to feed two or three adults! Crispy chips, amazing cheese melted over top with guacamole extra.(Not biggest fan of the price of guac but that’s my guilty pleasure) Also, I was told to try the Irish nachos and burger so looking forward to trying those dishes as well!

This is one of the restaurants I always have to hit up during a visit to Brownsville. Their fajita nachos are the and the ceviche is amazing and so fresh. The service is always great– friendly and experienced staff. It’s a win-win.

Yesterday was our first time at this place. The restaurant was completely full when we arrived, reason why we think service was OK instead of awesome. I ordered a mushroom burger, besides being big I wasn’t too impressed. However, I felt in love with the side of fries and onion rings. We might give this place a second chance.

Food and service was great. The only issue I had was that I thought it was over priced. That’s just my opinion.

Came here for lunch. The parking lot was full and almost every table was taken inside. It had a pretty cool sports bar type of vibe. The food was regular tex-mex stuff. It wasn’t exactly out of this world, but it was pretty good overall. I’d be interested to check this place out on a weekend or night time. Considering how full it was during the day, I can only imagine that it’s a local’s favorite.
