Went to eat with a group yesterday night
Got all you can eat for half of the table
The food came late and service was bad
First order of the sushi came with some potential meat
Then later on in the end they started to cut sushi in half
Bottom line this place so suck ass and never would eat there again

This is definitely a local sushi spot. Very laid back but nice inside and looks very clean. That is one of the most important things about a restaurant. I have eaten in and had take out. Take out takes a bit long but what can you expect?
Cheap sushi, appetizers, and I believe Sapporo’s are like $ 3 – 4.
Everything seems fresh when it comes to the rolls. I love sushi but I’m not a dare devil. I usually stick to my edamame and eel avocado or eel cucumber rolls.
Oh, just don’t get the calamari. Good calamari isnt always easy to find so maybe it was just a bad day.

I’ve been here a few times for their all you can eat sushi deal. It’s a pretty good deal and they have cheap beverages. The sushi rolls tastes fresh and their service is great. Not much stands out about their décor, it’s pretty laid back and clean. Not a bad place to have dinner with some friends if you’re feening sushi.

this place is by far the best for quantity, not quality. their sushi are humungous, and the rice is even bigger. you’ll probably get full off the rice! the price is relatively cheap but then if you pay a few more bucks and head to queens for a real sushi all you can eat you def won’t be coming back to tempura. head to sushi village in queens where the menu is bigger, better, and more variety, and fresh. and you won’t be walking out the door wondering why you got full on rice.

Great sushi and great service. This is by far a very big or a very fancy sushi place but the sushi here is always fresh and beautifully presented. They also have excellent appetizers. My favorites are the kani salad, avocado salad, calamari, soft shell crab, and the fish. The seaweed salad is great too but beware they put a lot of lettuce in the bowl to give it the appearance of having lots of seaweed on top.
Other than that, the sushi here is always wonderful. The love boat is a dream and can easily serve 4 to 5 people. They also have good lunch specials, as well as sushi and sashimi a la carte for $ 1…can’t beat that… and don’t forget about the fried ice cream!
They are open till late and are always great for take out as well.

I buried the hatchet with my friends at Tempura. It was one of those arguments between friends that got out of hand and was never resolved.
After all, they were my first. They popped my sushi cherry many years ago back when there were not many sushi joints in this neighborhood (yes, there was a time, and i’ve lived to tell about it!).
They renovated a little since the last time i paid a visit. Goneare the god-​awful green booths that were so high up you felt like you were entering some kind of MRI machine. Looks alot better now inside with more space, the specials of the day are also displayed in the middle of the dining area.
Some new workers too, nice people. The only non-​asian worker i’ve ever seen at a sushi joint is still there! The older spanish man with the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball cap and the Jesus t-​shirt still works in the back and cooks up the tempura.
One of my favorite things to do is to go for the $ 20 all you can eat buffet, sit by myself, take my time and watch the People Court on their flat screen on a weekday afternoon.
Their dragon rolls are fantastic, the eel is good quality (with no bones!) and the avocado on top just melts in your mouth with all it’s creamy goodness.
The tuna and yellowtail sushi pieces are acceptable and the spicy tuna/​salmon rolls are creamy, spicy and delicious.
I’m glad we are friends again, Tempura. I missed you.

The sushi was great and the all you can eat options are limited. They charge for what you don’t finish, charge if you bring in your own drink and charge for staying longer that two hours. The server was below my standards, unattentive and disconnected from her job. Go for the food and the sake but the ambiance is enough to make you ask for the check while your last plate is being served. I’d go back for the food but only all you can can eat; even if it is a limited selection.

I’ve came here for the past 3 – 4 years but never had the time nor thought to review on Tempura. I came here with my boyfriend for our 2^nd month anniversary. It wasn’t the best Sushi/​Japanese restaurant I been to but it was alright. The service was exceptionally well because of one waitress that greeted my boyfriend & I with a warm smile and took the time to explain certain things on the menu we were unfamiliar with.
The Kani Salad here was delicious and very well made! It’s always a favorite. For appetizer, we got Crispy Fried Calamari and it tasted alright but I’ve tasted better. The batter that they fried it in and used really lacked flavor.
As for the sushi, we tried some new things and had some old things in the mix. We had Valentine Day’s Roll, Wonderful Roll, Boston Roll, & Chicken Tempura Roll. My least favorite was the Wonderful Roll cause it had cream cheese in it and I’m just not used to having it in the roll. The sushi rolls were mediocre.
Although the food was so-​so, I definitely have to give 4 stars for service and treating the customers right!

I went there for a lunch with a girlfriend & it was delicious. I started with the salad. Very fresh but the sauce was a bit watery. Then, I had the spicy tuna, boston roll and spider roll. The spider roll was my favorite, it was everything I imagined it to be: tempura with avacado (and something else that I don’t remember.) The spicy tuna was packed with tuna. My least
favorite was the boston roll which had lettuce instead of cucumbers.
I’ll def be back to try some of their other rolls

Sushi virgin? This is a good place to lose your sushi-​ginity. The restaurant serves an all you can eat menu that results in a 25 – 28 dollar meal — including tip, tax, and even a soda (one free refill). Like most of the all you can eat sushi places, the hot tea is made from the water that was used to «wash» the rice — yes, that’s why it has a familiar smell and taste. Occasionally, there are a handful of cute waitresses.
I’ve only tried the beef terriyaki and it was pretty good. I’m not a fan of the serving style though — the black flat pan that it’s served in to keep it hot. Though, it still was good.
If you do have a big group, I would suggest making a reservation before hand.

Tempura is one of my favorite sushi joints in all of Brooklyn. The food is good, the prices are reasonable and there is all-​you-​can-​eat sushi buffet. The only catch to ordering the all-​you-​can-​eat buffet is that everyone on your table must do the same. (They changed the rules to prevent people from sharing). I must say it’s pretty filling after 2 – 3 plates. If you’re not in the mood to make your stomach explode, I personally recommend trying one of their udon soup noodle dishes or the various bento boxes. Can’t go wrong either way.
Other than that, this place is fairly low-​key and small. Sometimes it does get real busy and you might have to wait, but generally this doesn’t happen too often.

The sushi here is decent, nothing to complain about, nothing to rave about. I’m a huge fan of the udon and the fact that they give free edamame is a huge plus.
They only get 3 stars cause the sushi is just mediocre. Still good, just not amazing. Can’t go wrong here.

The quality of sushi here is really spotty. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s terrible — and I mean really bad. I’ve had some some of the worst sushi ever here before, but most times, it’s ok.
I used to come here quite often though, because the sushi is really cheap — like a couple bucks per roll, which is pretty hard to beat. The eel avocado is usually pretty good, I would stay away from the white tuna nigiri though. The people who work here are really friendly too.

:) I go here often. The sushi pieces are surprisingly bigger than other sushi I’ve had before, you get a complementary edamame to start which I LOVE and you end with complementary pineapple pieces!
To be very honest, I really did not enjoy the tea last time I went there which was yesterday because it tasted like hot water. :(
The Futo Maki roll is disgusting, it has these really vile tasting carrots in it. I warn you now.

The prices are really cheap! The chicken teriyaki is really good, compare to other japanese restaurant around there. The sushi are ok. I love the kani salad. So far this place makes the best kani salad.
I’m reading the other comments and i am surprise that a few people don’t like this place. I have tried a lot of japanese restaurants around the area and there are worse places. I honestly don’t think this restaurant is bad at all! I’m not saying it’s the best but it’s definately not the worst.

Another Cheap sushi place, one of many in Brooklyn. I admit it’s not the best sushi but it’s decent. My friends and I always come here for their cheap rolls or their sushi buffet for 20 dollars. We always choose this place for sushi whenever I go to brooklyn since I live in queens. It’s basically a low priced sushi restaurant and the quality is average. None of my friends ever got sick though like one of the reviewers below mine wrote.

My friends and I used to always come here for our sushi fixes. We were one of those asian youth groups as called by the original poster Kathleen C. We regularly took up about 12 seats per visit and were always given either the three tables across from the bar area or the 3 tables in the middle.
We mainly came here for the great price on the AYCE. $ 20 gets you unlimited amounts of rolls and sashimi (all from a special AYCE menu of course) The sushi here is decent on most occasions. Though there have been several occasions where my group had come to an agreement that the fish just wasn’t quite as fresh as it could and/​or should be. Keep in mind that the menu for AYCE only includes the most simplest of rolls and not the fancy expensive ones.
Being as how I live several blocks from this place I can’t really complain. This used to be «the spot» for us. It’s given us plenty of memories, from the completely chinese staff to the times where everyone is killing themselves to finish that last place of AYCE because we overordered.
It’s not the best place for sushi but it definitely can’t be beat if you’re starved and craving sushi. The next best place would be Ichi Sushi on Bay Parkway but they don’t have AYCE.
