I must say it was my first time at this establishment. The jerk chicken with peas and rice is to die for. Jerk chicken is moist a little dry. But peas and rice was season excellent. Decent price for reasonable food. Unfortunately they ran out of BBQ for the jerk chicken as well as no more macaroni salad.(Friday Night at 930pm) Of course the ladies do have slight of an attitude but that comes with west Indian restaurant. But will go again for the food… Keep the attidude…

The food was great but the customer service left much to be desired. They have a chow line set up, where you tell each person what you want & they pass it down the line & they get a little funky if you ask questions. The woman at the end who took the $ was the super funky. And what West Indian restaurant doesn’t have hot sauce?

Food was mediocre. Ordered the stewed chicken it lacked flavor and was warm to stay the least. The décor was lackluster and I felt I walked onto a movie set for Shottas or Belly. To be honest I would not eat here ever again. The staff was nice but they must do better. The grade pending in the window did not help either

I would never come here again. The staff here a very rude. The ladies have disgusting attitudes. You can’t ask them questions about anything without them rolling their eyes and being STANK. Girl bye, you will not be getting my money. They didn’t package my food right which caused my food to leak into the bag. The only reason why they got 2 stars was for cleanliness, and good lemonade. BEWARE. I DONOTRECOMMEND !

EMPLOYEESWITHNASTYATTITUDES!!! No Thank You Silver Krust… The food is the average grade west indian food. However the trip there is not worth it. Employees serving the food tend to have a nasty attitude. I reached out to Manager Susan at the Laurelton location to try and find resolve. She never even asked who the employee was. After speaking to her I am sure that not much will change. I have been going here for 5 years but will not return. Nor will my husband. My husband who is not caribbean started going to this restaurant because of me but after constantly dealing with rude employees he would only go to grab me something on Saturday mornings. He was made uncomfortable by disrespectful employees that clearly don’t understand that not all of their customers are from the west indies and therefore may not be familiar with all the ingredients, but nevertheless should not be made to feel uncomfortable when ordering. If selling food is your business then you want people to try the items on your menu. Even if they didn’t grow up eating such food. Your customers are from all over the world not just the islands. As a business all you have is your reputation and what keeps you going are return customers. No matter how good the food is people eventually get tired of the unecessary aggrevation. For prospective customers search Google or Unilocal for other restaurants nearby. ****The one star given is for the average jamaican food served***** Full disclosure: I grew up on one of those islands I referred to previously.

Never again I hope management responds Because as a local business owner It a shame to have to deal with staff that doesn’t care Even though we are in Brooklyn we should still have class I used to like this place a lot but not anymore I don’t see the big deal with the pepper either

— Service is typical caribbean — Baked chicken is incredibly tender and succulent

I always see a line and was craving some good food so I gave them a shot. I usually eat chicken once or twice a month so if it doesn’t taste good I’ll throw it out or give it away. As i walked into this place they just brought out a fresh tray of yummy looking curry chicken. They didn’t have plantain, one star away for that. But the offered fresh salad. The small was 6 $ and stuffed with food. The food was pretty good, not mind blowing but good. I will come back.

I think there needs to be some consistency when cooking West Indian. My first experience at this silver Krust, I was not impressed with the meal I ordered there was too much fat and oil in the oxtail and the rice was borderline mushy, which is ok if you have not teeth but i do, this maybe a case of profit over quality. Pls step the quality up

I absolutely LOVE all the Silver Krust in Brooklyn and Queens. The attitude with a service is not what anyone wants to deal with when hungry(lost two stars because of it). I will no longer be a purchasing from the Silver Krust on Ave. A. Every time the short, dark skin, manager is servicing she ALWAYS has a screwball face on and wants to talk over my damn food. The last straw was when I ordered food for my kids and she put two small spoons of rice and I asked if she could please put a little more rice and I was told I have to pay $ 1.00 more. Well after she finished talking over my food and serving me the spitball food — I left the food at her register and word of advice on her nasty attitude and lack of respect for customers. DONE!

Some of the best oxtail I’ve ever had. Their spinach rice is great and is everything else. The establishment is small only built for take out orders but there’s always a small line because the food is so good. I used to pass this place all the time and never went in until someone recommended I go. Best decision ever.

Typical«West Indian courtesy» where the customer is always wrong. The staff serve what they think you should eat not the other way around. Too confusing.

Let me start by saying the price for the oxtail is great at $ 10 for a medium. Every West Indian restaurant is more than this so that’s the only thing I like to get. I like their potato salad but it’s always gone. I’m not a fan of anything else at this restaurant. My boyfriend loves it but I do not like their curried goat or rasta pasta. The rasta pasta is so oily I felt like I would have a heart attack. The curried goat just did not taste right to me. The customer service is also not good. There are many young females who work there and they just seem uninterested but I guess that’s the norm in brooklyn anyway.

I tried this spot after work today because I didn’t feel like driving all the way to Baldwin on Long Island to Tropical Jerk, which is AMAZING by the way and they have jerk pork and make their patties FRESH. Anyway, I tried Silver Krust this evening on my way home since its about 5 – 7 minutes away from my house. I’ve drove by a few times and there is always a line so I figured the food must be worth it! And to my surprise, it is!!! So why am I giving it 3 stars??? The customer service sucks with the exception of a woman named Yvonne who is VERY helpful. Aside from that the attitude of the server was just horrific. I didn’t get off work to come and patronize a business and get an attitude. I came to get something to eat for dinner and potentially become a loyal customer. I am not the picky or high end type of customer. I waited patiently and quietly on the long line of people and when it was my time I placed my order. I simply inquired if the jerk pork was coming when I was paying to the cashier so they could ring me up for it and not forget it and the server came to the register with an attitude, «THEYARECUTTINGIT!» Wow! I was taken back by that because I wasn’t rude or anything. In the employees defense, I think they get a lot of complaining customers which may explain the chip on their shoulder but it takes away from someone like me who LOVED the jerk pork and oxtails but probably won’t return unless I am desperate because of the service(which the exception of Yvonne who actually went to check to see if they had jerk pork rather than just telling me no like the other woman). The person who owns this spot should really police up on how customers are treated because at the end of the day its the money we pay that keeps this business afloat. And yes, the food is 4 stars but the customer service is 3. They should also staff more people on Friday night rush so that the line continues to move at a steady pace. More revenue for them and more happy customers. Seems like a win/win to me but who am I? Just a first time customer who got yelled at because I asked about the pork. LOL

The food is hit and miss on any given day. When it’s a hit then the pumpkin rice is delicious and the the stew peas is the best. On a miss type of the day get ready to dump your food and go to Burger King. The plates that are good – if you’re lucky are: Stew peas Oxtail Curry chicken Stew Fish

The food is really fresh and affordable. Everything displayed nicely so you can pick and choose. If you are into Caribbean dishes and want to see what they put into your container, visit this spot. Recommended dish: Oxtail or curry chicken

The food here is hit or miss, but this review mainly focuses on the service. So unprofessional! The servers seem to ration out food(and adjust prices) based on familiarity, gender, or even perceived background. Good luck getting a decent plate if you’re not a regular, not a heavy-set truck driver, or lack a discernible west indian accent. If I’m paying the same price as the guy in front of me, why is is his plate filled sky-high with meat and gravy and mine full of dry bones? I’m not paying $ 10-$ 11 to go home and make soup. Today marks my(and my family’s) last day patronizing this joint. They need to get it together.
