3.5. I haven’t tried the congee but normally order the BBQ over rice, big portion. Fair prices really.

Easily 4 stars. Why? Delicious comfort food. Any time I’m sick, I turn to their congee. Their congees are good and their prices are reasonable! It also helps that they’re the only place around that makes good congee. The other places that are comparable are all located in Chinatown. Their rice dishes and noodles are good too! I always walk away feeling full that’s for sure. It’s located in the food court of the Fei Long supermarket so that area is pretty busy with the car and foot traffic. Also being that it’s good food, there’s usually a long steady line. Be affirmative. Be aggressive. And hold your own. Don’t like those teeny tiny grandmas with their umbrellas cut you on line!

Love the congee. I always get that whenever I’m in the area. The time shows that they open at 7 which isn’t the case. I was there at 8 and was serve but they did not look like they were ready yet. This was during a weekday.

The best congee ever. They make it fresh and its thick not watery. Add a fried dough best meal!

Best congee and breadsticks. The continuous line is proof positive! — Edit — Except for today! It must be just a bad day but the congee was very liquidy and we got less than usual. Also, the breadsticks were kind of thin. We got the rice noodle covered breadsticks too(ja lerng) and that dough was very chewy and tough. Ah, what has happened to you Shall We Eat? We’ll probably try again in 2 weeks or so and hopefully the quality will be back to normal. I’m leaving a 4 star rating because they’ve never let me down before — I’m hoping this was just an off day.

This is good Chinatown grease. I ordered my 3 meats combo on rice: Roast Pig, Soy Sauce Chicken and Roast duck on rice. It was good, all the meats were moist(greasy), flavorful without being salty, and for $ 5.50, its hard to make a case to eat anywhere else(4 bux if you only get one meat). However, Lucky 8 still takes home the crownfor the best BBQ meats on BK8th Ave.

Wontons are really good! Best on 8th ave! The soup varies from day to day, very inconsistent. The hong kong style lo mein is very good also. Their noodles have a pretty good texture!

Not bad congee/rice porridge. They have my favorite, preserved duck egg and skinny pork. You get the same amount as other places on 8th ave(a quart’s worth). But the one thing I noticed right away was an uncharacteristic lack of MSG. They didn’t make up for it with salt or white pepper, so it was rather bland. A little bit of soy sauce took care of that problem though. The fried crullers, while long, weren’t hot out of the oven/deep fryer, and weren’t salty enough. I’ll definitely be back to try out their BBQ/roasted meats. Looked tasty and fresh.
