It got resolved because I took a car service out there to get my food. They didn’t even give me a discount. I made the most out of it and found a Salad Bar in the area. The salad was stupendous Follow me on Instagram as Superhru I put in the order to find out that they don’t deliver until I call. Real shady. If the delivery person isn’t there then why take my order. I’m out $ 14. I hope this is resolved by tomorrow.

Ordered for delivery at 10:50AM. Received food at 12:25PM. Considering that a cemita, fries, delivery fee, and tip cost me $ 17.25, I wouldn’t order for delivery from here again — especially at that price. Food was okay, but considering that there are so many options in Bushwick for Mexican food, I would pass this one over. Might consider dining in. Maybe. If I don’t have to wait 1.5 hours. Bumping this from one to two stars since my food arrived. Have to give them credit for that, right?

Let me start by saying this is my first Unilocal review. Because this is the day I quit hoping against hope I’ll ever find decent al pastor(and pretty much great Mexican in general) in NYC. I have searched NYC for 10 years after leaving San Francisco for true al pastor and(once again, always the optimist) had high hopes for this place, esp after reading so many reviews specifically about the al pastor. Bad news… this isn’t it. Maybe you’ve never been to San Jose #2 on 24th and Mission(my personal standard) or several other taquerias in SF, which is what I know(not here to debate Mexico City vs Cali. etc, that’s for another thread). That’s cool. But until you have, hold judgement for what this revered dish can be. So I come to you today to say this: adding cubed pineapple(«the New York shortcut» as I like to call it) to questionable pork does not al pastor make. Even if it’s on a spit(as it should be — and it seems to be the case from what others have said-but I got delivery so can’t verify) it’s just not happening here. Trust me, I’ve dedicated my freaking life to finding it in NYC and have rarely come close. I’m a black-belt in al pastor, and have gone to great lengths to learn how to make it myself. I almost bought a rotisserie but it was like $ 500. But, yeah, I’m that serious. If somebody reading this knows my references and can prove me wrong, please, please do let me know. In the meantime, I join Unilocal to say I have, officially, given up on al pastor in NYC. If you dig this place, great. But this ain’t the al pastor that changed my life forever the first time I tried it. It’s not even close. Two stars because they seem to try. I’m not here to wreck businesses, but I must speak the truth on such a serious matter. Its not just here, it’s NYC in general. Stick with carnitas. That’s alot harder to mess up.

The nachos here are the best. I’m craving them right now. I don’t recommend the torta, which was too messy to eat on the go without a fork. Missing star is for the price. $ 23 is too much for a sandwich and nachos.

Worse Mexican food I’ve tried in my life. Don’t waste your time. Amaranto down the block is way better although a bit more pricey.

Very good authentic Mexican food! And less pretentious than the place on the other edge of the block. I ordered a vegetarian burrito for $ 9.75 plus tax. It was large and they cut it in half — cute! They served two squirt salsas in an ice bucket. They’re nice touches, and not what I’d expect from an affordable ethnic place. It’s a small business and they don’t seem to get many customers, so please support!

When cheese, cream, guacamole are each a dollar additional for an already 3 bucks taco what you have is 6 to 7 for one small taco for everything. It seems the deeper you go into Bushwick the higher the prices get for food not so better in quality. The menu has priced most items two to three bucks more for then you would pay in Mexican places in my neighborhood. On top of that they don’t even know how to make a good tinga! How could screw that up. This place may be satisfying to their neighbors but I suggest you either go to a taco truck where you could pay less for the same quality food if not better or just try to venture elsewhere.

Far superior to Los Hermanos(Taco Factory) down the street. I go for the tacos(with guacamole, they load it on!), fresh juices, and pozole(soup). Mole is terrific, as I’m sure everything is. Service is a little slow, and the interior is kind of dingy, but it all adds to the charm. Across the street from Maria Hernandez park if you feel like a picnic. I’ve lived in Bushwick for 4 years — this is my favorite taqueria thus far.

very yummy tacos, especially the Al Pastor. I love the entire place down to the speckled paint on the walls. I love the ladies who work there. Sweet little place by the park. Can’t wait to be taking the tacos out in summer! But in the meantime, i will listen to Paul McCartney’s Christmas carols by the tree in there. It’s NOT loud btw. Not sure if they got the Unilocal memo :)

The delivery can be a little slow(I’ve only gotten delivery) but the al pastor tacos, nachos and everything else are really great. Love that they are on seamless.

This restaurant is consistently good — I’ve eaten here at least two dozen times. I’m a big fan of their chilequiles(the best hangover remedy known to humankind.) Also worth trying are the various cutlets, their fresh porgies, enchiladas suizas. The service here is always friendly, prompt and gracious. And I personally love me some loud Mexican jukebox, which in this case has a great selection of new and old stuff. The only downside is they don’t serve beer or other alcohol, or even permit in on the premises. But they make up for that by serving excellent fresh fruit drinks.

i’m a fan. shrimp burrito and shrimp tacos are great, well-seasoned and better than Tortilleria off Jefferson. Every component of the burrito tasted«freshly cooked» and cooked thru and not just put together(not sure how best to describe it). Also try the Tamarindo Jarritos drink… so good

I thing that Mexican restaurants too often rely on their liquor license to make their patrons love them, Once drunk, no need to have really yummy delicious authentic food! NOT the case with El Paisa Taqueria and restaurant! They have no liquor license but rather rely on really delicious authentic Mexican flavor and vibe to keep people going back. I have been here for both breakfast(hard-bolied egg tacos with delicious strong coffee!) and lunch and JUST came from dinner — tonight i had Camarones a la Diabla and I could NOT have been more satisfied(plus it was so much food, I have lunch for tomorrow!). I LOVE spice — and I don’t mean«white-people spice» and boy did they deliver. yum yum YUM. Love the décor(who doesn’t want to dine with a Madonna!?!) it is Mexico DOWN. Amazing staff and might I add the Nachos con Pollo are the absolute BEST I have ever ever ever ever ever ever had. Dude — you gots to go!

OK, ok. I am tired of Tortilleria Mexicana Los Hermanos on Starr/Wyckoff. This is mainly due to the fact that everyone knows about it now and you sometimes wait 15 – 20 mins for take out. Ridiculous. So, ELPAISA: I am a fan! I’ve had their breakfasts Huevos con Chorizo, etc. and they are good. Not incredible, but damn good! What compelled me to write this review however is one thing: ALPASTOR. Al Pastor is pork cooked on a vertical rotisserie(think gyros) with a chunk of pineapple at the top. As the meat cooks, the pineapple juice infuses the pork and tenderizes it. Then bits of the pineapple are sliced off along with the pork, served in a tortilla with all the trimmings and it is AMAZING. So, I am giving this place four stars for their tacos ALPASTOR(other dishes: tostadas, burritos, etc can be made with it as well). Yes it’s loud but order a couple of tacos al pastor with crema and salsa verde, go sit on a bench in the park, and you can simply forget that a line of tools at Tortilleria Mexicana Los Hermanos ever got in the way of you and a delicious mexican feast!

The first thing that struck me about El Paisa was that it was loud. Blaring music at noon on a Sunday, on an otherwise sleepy morning. It roused the last bit of sleep out of me, which was necessary. The next thing that really struck me was that their portions are very large, which was great. The huevos con chorizo were served with a mess of rice and beans. Enough for two people, or one big hungry dude. The quality of the food was decent, but nothing to write home about. The rice was standard, the beans a bit runny, but the eggs cooked in delicious chorizo grease helped make up for this. A fine hangover killer.
