Came in for a cord, got some help from the salesperson, and was on my way. They presented me with a couple of options to get the job done. They up sold me $ 1, ha, which says they were actually interested in helping me, rather than going for the big sell. The store closes later that it says online, sometimes. The phone store upfront closes earlier. Call to verify.

Came in there for headphones but was asked forty questions about my purchasing past and accosted with hard sell advice. Big guy sales person says: 1. Want some wires with that? No 2. Want anything else? No 3. Where’d you lose your headphones? Come on. 4. What’s you favorite color and sign? Will you marry me? No and no. Come on. 5. Come on what? F$ck it. Place head phones on the counter and leave while overhearing him talk. Turn and tell him., «look when I ask to ring me up… I mean it. Quit with the hard sell. It’s F$cking annoying. «Umm ok» he responses. Cooperate needs to train these employees better.

I’ve been here three times and have always had a good experience. Employees are super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I didn’t want to pay an extra $ 10 for a 1-year warranty on my electronic device, so the cashier was nice enough to punch in a code to give that to me for free. I came back to return an item that was not compatible with my system and the refund transaction was very smooth and easy.

Awful… I know Radio Shack is not a place you’re supposed to love, but I had continually bad experiences here so as to merit«awful.» One staff member sold me an insurance plan on my ipod which was misleading. When I returned my non-functioning ipod and was told that the conditions were different than he explained, I gave his name and received the explanation«oh, yeah, he was fired.» The staff people who helped me proceeded to bicker between themselves and make faces, like children. I’ve never experienced such attitudes. I then proceed to buy a product through one of the two staff members. A week later, I returned with it and that staff member was no longer there, either«oh, yeah, she was fired.»(!!!) I’m still waiting to get the product promised through me by my insurance – called the manager who said she would call me back and find out what the issue was. She never did. Don’t trust this store.

I’m not sure why my original review was removed, but I hate this place so much that I will do anything to warn people about the horrible service I received. This placed pulled a bait and switch tactic on me. They claimed the iphone was 50 dollars cheaper than it was. This ended up costing me one of my numbers as it was lost during the retraction of the new contract. Radio Shack used to be a place to go to for DIY’ing /hacking electronics, but it’s nothing more than a 3rd rate cell phone store. Such a shame.

You won’t necessarily go ga-ga over this Radio Shack, but it’s not a doucheteria like the one on 7th Avenue in Park Slope! I’ve been here twice; once to buy a router and once to buy a modem. I was able to get what I came for(which was out of stock at the aforementioned 7th Ave RS) and was in and out pretty quickly. It’s pretty much self-serve as I’ve never seen the cashiers go out of their way to proactively help a customer(is there some gravitational force field which keeps them behind the cash register?) but they are friendly enough. If you need something from the Shack, this would be my recommendation. Non-douchey, somewhat friendly and usually they have things in stock.

My husband has been to this store several times during the past few years — and until his most recent visit(on October 23), the sales clerks were totally disinterested in helping him. However, this time he lucked out; the clerk was *terrific* and spent a lot of time helping my husband find exactly the type of item he needed. (Update on 8÷7÷11): I went there yesterday to buy some batteries and apparently I encountered the same terrific salesman, as he was very friendly and helpful.

Wow… when it comes to great customer service and friendly staff… then take a quick ‘woosah’ breather, cause this Radio Shack doesn’t provide that. Terrible customer service, I waited 45 minutes to buy a stupid accesory for my i-touch. And the day that I went, there was no AC, so I was sweating while waiting and losing my patience. Please don’t buy your electronic goods here, you’ll hate yourself afterwards… thank heaven for the nearby 711, where I bought me a nice cherry Big Gulp Slurpee.

Has ANYONE received any sort of customer service here? Every time I’ve gone in there, the sales reps are generally yelling at each other or talking amongst themselves at the loudest volume possible. The GPS units are cranked up to the max spitting out directions for no reason and NOTHING is labeled properly as far as sections are concerned. You literally have to look everywhere to find what you need. The reps barely talk to anyone nor make eye contact with you. I’m not a rude or pushy person so I generally have to wait a minute or two before anyone notices me at the counter. Terrible, TERRIBLE service.

«Push it. Push it real good.» Holy aggressive sales representatives! I’m a geek. I need geek products. Sometimes I’m too lazy to go trek out to a larger electronics shop to get basics(blank CDs/DVDs, memory cards, cables, whatever), so I head over to Radio Shack and brace myself for impact. On any given trip, I’ll have a dozen products shoved in my face. I could be dropping by for batteries, and they’ll try to sell me a new plasma screen television. It’s the only place where I’m forced to be curt with the employees and I feel dirty for it. Thumbs down to Radio Shack(even if you have what I’m looking for).
