I have been coming to Radiance and Ester’s salon on Sixth Avenue before that for 15 years. The hair, pedicure/​manicures and all the other touch-​ups are the very best anywhere. The reason you come here is because of their excellent skills and the «family» environment. I think Ester knows my entire life story, and so do the others! It is small. But if you want the best haircut ever, best highlights, best mani/​pedi, best brow tinting this is the only place to go. Now I have told you too much!

I’ve been coming here to get my brows done from Esther since I first moved to the neighborhood. She’s the BEST and gets you in and out with very little redness. She’s become one of friends and is always making me feel great. Such a gem in the area!

My favorite nail tech in park slop is now in radiance.

I love this place! I found Ester at Radiance through a friend and am so happy with the results. The entire staff is friendly and the atmosphere is inviting and welcoming. I have received the laser hair removal treatment for my back and after two sessions I can state with confidence how great Ester is! Her procedure is completely painless and fast and (my wife especially), is loving the results! I have actually recommended her to my friends as well, and now I’m sharing with everyone how great her laser hair removal is.

Okay, simply said. If you are looking for a salon that radiates great service, niceness and a feel of real friendliness then Radiance is the right place for you. Ester is a lovely person in every way, and that is what you want, especially when you are having someplace very close to you waxed. Have been to many other salons but this is the place for me.
Tried out the New Thermal Jade Massage Bed recently and I found that it helped to stretch my back muscles.

Troy at Radiance is an amazing stylist. He is also fun company while giving the kind of haircut I used to think I could only get in Manhattan. On Saturday I finished my cut and color with 20 minutes on the new thermal Jade Massage Bed. It was a perfect way to unwind without having to undress and have a formal massage. The bed uses Jade rollers, and the longer you stay on it the warmer it gets as it simulates a manual hot stone body massage. The longer I stayed on the bed the more relaxed I became. What a treat. I went home with a terrific haircut in a relaxed state of mind. I recommend trying the informality of this Massage bed. I loved it.

Esther is one of the most lovely people on Planet Earth. If you’ve ever met someone with a heart so big, and a kindness that envelopes you when get within a few feet of them, that’s Esther.
Now, imagine what that means when you’re getting waxed. You don’t realize it’s happening even though if you go anywhere else, you’re probably holding back screams from the pain. I’ll definitely be going back for electrolysis, but I recommend looking at their list of services for just about any spa treatment.
As a client for years, I really couldn’t be happier. She loves us and handles us like family, and we feel the same way. Go for her masterful skills, go for the relaxation, go for the energy exchange, and go for the positivity. And, if you need to get in last-​minute, say, at the end of the day, she’ll probably accommodate you even though she’s been on her feet all day!

Another fabulous cut and color from Mila at Radiance. I’ve been with Mila for 16 years-she’s been doing my hair since I found her at a Carroll Gardens salon. What I love about Mila is that she listens to what I want and gives me her true assessment if she thinks a certain style will work. She’s a perfectionist and wants to be sure the cut and styling look right before I go. If you’re looking for a great stylist, I highly recommend her. She’s been with me through my hair ideals — every highlighting or hair chopping whim– in my 20s and 30s and now in my 40s. My husband gets his hair cut with her too.

Again Disappointed
I specifically asked Laura not to cut my hair off on the sides and she cut it all off.
At one point it looked fine then she seemed to go crazy cutting my bangs. Not happy, I’ll find somewhere else.

Radiance is everything the name implies! I was badly in need of color and when I phoned after reading several Unilocal reviews, I requested a stylist who was on vacation. I then asked then if there was any other stylist who was good with color and had the great good fortune of finding Shannon!
I told Shannon the tales of my last two hair disasters (read my review of Ben Simon) and told her that my brown color was not covering my silver roots (unfortunately) and they looked kind of pinkish and brassy.
She explained patiently that she was going to apply a 2-​step process that would make my hair «grab onto» the color, effectively hiding those roots and then she proceeded to do just that! She also took (as instructed) 1 ½ inches off all around and fixed the mess that the stylist at another salon had made of my bangs.
I opted for a brunette single process color, but what Shannon gave me was anything but flat, one dimensional, boring brown. This was a beautiful multi-​dimensional coffee color that shines and seems to have some highlights and lowlights of its’ own. Shannon is a master colorist!
The salon itself is small but that creates an ambiance of warm personalized attention. One tiny suggestion would be that it would be nice to offer coffee and tea (or flavored iced water in hot weather).
Shannon is warm, friendly, patient, great at explaining precisely what she will/​can do to make your hair exactly what you want. What more could anyone possibly want in a hair stylist?! She’s perfect…:)

Shannon, is great at what she does. Cut, color, or weave. You can not go wrong, with her. The after look of any style she creates will have you feeling young and vibrant… A+++

This place is really cute and comfortable. I was very relaxed and taken care of during my appointment but on to the good stuff. I had never been to radiance and just to decided to stroll in and that’s where I met Shannon. SHE IS AMAZING. Shannon completely transformed my hair after only a few visits my hair looks and feels healthier. She let’s you know how to continue to take care of your hair when you can’t get to her and she just gives all around great service. If you’re in Park Slope and in need of a new look visit radiance and ask for Shannon you will not be disappointed.

Esther is a godsend for perfect eyebrows. I live in Durham, and I only get them done when I’m in Brooklyn! She understands the shape of the face, and the appropriate moulding of the brows. She would never turn them a shape that is unsustainable, or hard to manage. I would say she’s a brow whisperer!
Sevil, who is there on the weekends, gives, I’d say, Brooklyn’s best facial. Every time after the facial I get compliments on my skin and glow. She is also a perfectionist at mani pedis. Though the space downstairs is a bit small, your mani will seriously last for 3 weeks. It’s crazy; I don’t know how she does it.
I’ve been going to these two for over ten years, and I have no need to look elsewhere! They’re awesome.

This is a great place if you want your hair done right. Ask for Tara! She’s the best hairstylist! I love the way she does my hair. This place is a little small, but you know the old saying, «Good Things Come in Small Packages»!

Love Mila! We (my family and me) followed her from Dhaga down the street. Love Radiance! And we adore Mila. She is great with color and short hair (me) which is not easy to find. My daughter has thick long curly hair and then she cuts my hubby and son. All of us have different hair and demands and we look great every time. Love you Mila!

Hooray! Mila is now at Radiance! This salon suits Mila’s expertise in color and cut. I’ve been with her for over 15 years. Mila was previously at Dhaga, I definitely prefer this salon– friendly, professional and the most amazing head massage during shampooing!

Very small when u walk in.
There’s a see through display window that allows people, who are walking by to see everything that’s going on inside.
Somewhat strange and kinda uncomfortable.
But once you are in the salon and seated towards the back, you hardly even realize that the window is a see-​through.
Troy is awesome, you must ask for him.
He was able to cut a perfect short jagged-​hairstyle from my Asian hair without making me look emo.
Plus it was my first time getting bangs.
He makes you feel very comfortable and asks for your opinion.
If you are in the neighborhood and need a cut, ask for him.

I wish I had found Esther sooner before I moved out of Bklyn.
However, everytime I come home to NY, I must visit and get «my make up done»!
Unfortunately, I never used any of her other services, but she can wax me ANYday!
