We were feeling adventurous this past week so decided to find a place for pizza delivery in sunset park. I often feel weary about ordering from places that I’ve never actually been inside but we gave Pizza by the Park a try. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms and the Meat Lovers pie. WHOA was ordering from this place the right decision. The food pretty much arrived when they said it would. The stuffed mushrooms were awesome! The pizza was awesome! The timeliness of the delivery was awesome! We will definitely be ordering from Pizza by the Park again! So glad we gave this place a try.

I ordered the grandam square pizza pie for delivery and it was the best pizza I’ve ever had! The crust was thin and garlic flavored, but not over powering. The cheese and the rest of the ingredients were so fresh! I’ve lived in NY my entire life and pretty much tried most pizza spots, including Grimaldi’s, and this place was by far the best. I actually just ordered a 2nd pie because the 1st one didn’t last that long, everyone loved it! If you love pizza, it’s a definite must try!

Good salad. Pizza was not good. Delivery took way too long. I was disappointed in the quality of the pizza overall. The crust and sauce was not good quality. Will not order again.

I literally was just here… and i gotta stay, its a blast from the past. …i used to come here as a child!!! It always reminded me of home at the time, so worn out chairs have meaning to me… the food overall is pretty good… i really enjoyed it… especially those cinnamon sticks… DELICIOUSLYSWEETMASTERPIECE!!! I was greeted and taken care of by the man in the glasses… didnt catch his name unfortunately :-/…he is really kind and really made me feel like family… cinnamon sticks… cheesey sticks…12 inch pizza and garlic knots all came to under 20 bucks even with a good tip… now it was enough food for 2… maybe even 3… but its pizza. and you can never have enough

I did delivery business often with this place for almost 6 years. finally decided to walk 2 blocks and pick up the pie myself for once. found out the owner/operator here is an asshole. when I was about to pick up my pie, all of a sudden the ‘manager’ said he’s taking cash only. told him I only had a credit card, then he started interrogating me as though he thinks he’s some type of mafia tough guy, asking me if I live in the neighborhood and such. walked out immediately. don’t spend your money on assholes, they never deserve it.

I used to eat pizza from here all the time after visiting Sunset Pool. I only lived a few blocks away, then a few years ago I moved to the same block and there was a huge change in the pizza. I do not know what happened, but the quality became poor and once I saw a «C» rating, I vowed to never to return. What a shame, they used to have a quality product.

Stopped in with the wife and kids after taking a dip in the pool across the street. I had 2 grandmas that were decent and six regulars for the family. Can’t complain… Decent, great service, can’t get any better. New spot for after the pool munchies.

This spot provides a lot of the catering for my school where I work. The sauce is yummy and the eggplant parm is soooo good.

Called on a Monday night at 9:30pm, pizza didn’t arrive till 10:45pm. It arrived cold, appeared old, and it tasted like death. Garlic knots had the consistency of pebbles. I give it 1 star because of lack of effort. I have worked in pizzerias and I know that when a customer calls near the end of the night, they get what ever is left over(usually there’s a pre-made pizza laying around). Instead of grabbing a fresh dough and really going the distance for a customer, we got a pre-made pizza that had been sitting for God know’s how long. Same for the garlic knots. I will NEVER order from this place again.

Best pizza in the neighborhood, only other comparable place is Dominick’s. The large cheese pie is our go to. If we order for pickup, the guy is always super nice on the phone(maybe he recognizes our number by now?) and always has it ready in 15 – 20 mins. Good to take to the park on a nice day. Whenever we have friends over for a movie night we always order from here and people comment on how good it is because it’s a good representation of New York Style pizza.

Total crap. I have live two blocks from this place for 6 years… it used to be really great. I think there has been some change of ownership recently. Ugh… so bad! I ordered a pie in the middle of the day, took ANHOUR and was the worst pizza I’ve ever had. We each ate one slice and threw the rest away… doughy, uncooked. Would have been better off with a freezer pizza.

I love their food but on top of it… they got my order slightly wrong and profusely apologized. They sent me complimentary garlic knots and bread so apologize. The staff is super friendly and they have healthy options as well. They are my favorite restaurant in sunset Park

My cousin told me I couldn’t leave NYC without having pizza. So I Unilocaled the nearest well reviewed place to me on my trip. I ended up choosing pizza by the park. Great pictures on the wall that you make feel like you are in a nyc pizza joint. A lot of the pizzas for slices looked like they had been sitting there for a while. The question is how long? We ended up getting one of those slices which turned out to be a mistake. It was served still kind of cold to us but the toppings were good. Crust was good here. The one fresh pizza was Grandma’s pizza. A cheese and tomato sauce pizza(different cheese than your ordinary pizza) this was the star of this meal. Cheese breadsticks were also good(and fresh). I would say make sure to get a fresh pie here. Also can’t go wrong with grandma’s pizza as they have a great sauce here. I wouldn’t say this is better than the pizza places around Boston though.

Pizza by the Park is nestled on a quiet corner in a charming building across the street from Sunset Park, a truly nice location. I will definitely go out on a limb here to say that this pizza is the best I’ve had in a very long time. And as far as pizza goes in general, I’m probably only satisfied by one out of every twenty pizza joints I try(and that may still be an under-estimate), so Pizza by the Park was a phenomenal discovery indeed. I was just so impressed. We(my financee and me) ordered the margarita pizza and some barbecue buffalo wings for pick up. The pizza was perfecto! The sauce had perfect texture and consistency and was super delicious(and, boy, I’m all about the sauce), the cheese was extraordinary, and the thin crust had the best crispness and thickness – all combining to make the entire concoction fresh and superb. Best of all, the pizza didn’t ooze with grease like so many other pizzas. From the first bite to the last, it was obvious that Pizza by the Park definitely takes pride in making pizza… and does it very well. The buffalo wings were mediocre, but who cares… the experience was all about the pizza. And for sure I’ll be looking forward to trying other items on the menu, like the calzones. They deliver, of course, and will soon be set up to take orders on line. Oh yeah, their website is pretty cool too.
