This is a tough one. This really should be 2.5 stars, but Unilocal doesn’t allow them. There’s a bourgeoisie Brooklyn charm about this team that is appealing, but… –unless you live in the neighborhood, it really is a pain in the butt to get to. 2 visits, 4 hours of driving from Queens –Sayre is a really poor communicator. She is slow to respond to both phone calls and emails, hard to reach as John Z. mentioned and initially misplaced our consultation notes –The color we picked out in our consultation looks nothing like what showed up on our wedding invites. Still pretty, but not what we picked out –They are affordable relative to other letterpress outfits, but is the produce that much nicer than laser printing/thermography to justify the fact that it is 60% more expensive? –They are inflexible on pricing and we had to walk away from the envelopes because what we wanted was $ 3.50/per. No discount for cash. No discount for paying up front etc.

They did my letterpress business cards and the results were beautiful. So why only 3 stars then. well the guy that originally quoted me my pricing left and then the new person working with me said he messed up the pricing and had to charge me more… I think that’s just bad business practice and they should have honored the amount I had originally agreed to for this first order.

I’ve used Peter Kruty Editions for various projects since 2002. Peter is exceptionally talented as a master printer. Sayre is a pleasure to work with in shaping a project from concept to final printed product. I would use them again in an instant.

Peter Kruty Editions did a fantastic job with my Save-the-Date cards! They really worked with me to create a card that was simple, yet beautiful — just what I wanted! I have received many compliments on the card and will definitely use Peter Kruty Editions again. I highly recommend this company!

They were one of the cheaper letterpress printers around and made an exceptionally beautiful invitation for us. They were hard to reach sometimes which caused some frustration on our part, but in the end it all worked out well!
