Ordered take out. The Tacos were amazingly good. Everything else was Blah. The cheese corn on the cob. It’s suppose to be grilled. It taste like it was soaked in unseasoned water and stayed there since yesterday until they prepared it for my order. I’ll order again. But will only order Tacos. I had the fish taco and the chicken taco.

I’ve lived in the neighborhood for the last ten years. While it has changed in some not so great ways(too much new offensive looking, completely out of place looking new housing that reeks of poor taste), it’s good to know that something that FEELSLIKEBROOKLYN can still exist here. Absolutely delicious, and incredibly prompt and quick service for take out or eating in. While I mostly get take out here, I have enjoyed many a great meal in their quaint backyard. This is a big win for the neighborhood.

I live a few blocks away and have been eating here for years. The food is consistently tasty. However, during peak delivery times they are generally swamped with orders and it can take a long time to get your delivery. They have a large menu and everything is made in house. Their salsa bar is great. They serve genuinely spicy food with real flavor(try the spicy shrimp burrito).

This is the place in Brooklyn for Mexican fast food! Loved the tacos and the guacamole was to cry for! Though the chips are a little oily everything else is delicious! I’ll definitely come back!

Convenient, consistent, inexpensive, and delicious! Cute back patio in warmer weather too.

This place had a an amazing salsa bar. Huge bonus for me I’m a taco spot. Lots of lettuce and diced tomatoes with their dishes, another bonus for me. Two let downs: service was mopey and slow, and the music was loud and edm. Food was on point af though!

Was told, after 45 minutes and my card had been charged, that the delivery man wouldn’t come to my apartment — that it was out of their range. Unbelievably poor customer service.

My boyfriend and I really appreciate this gem of a taqueria. He lives above a Mexican restaurant and will nonetheless trek out of his way to get his burrito from Maya. I’m not a connoisseur of Mexican cuisine, but agree that I haven’t had a burrito this authentic since living in California(although my boyfriend took pains to point out burritos in San Diego are still better than Maya, but hey we’re on the east coast). Rice is cooked well as are the beans, great flavors, fresh ingredients. The menu confuses me(pretty much every possible combination is listed separately), so I just say I want a burrito/quesadilla with fill-in-the-blank. A small place, but cozy inside and more spacious outer seating area when weather permits.

Well, I ate that grilled corn at Maya for about a year before someone thought to mention they cook it in heavy cream. Just a thought, maybe mention that to people who order their burrito without dairy of any kind. The mushrooms are also cooked in cream, so vegans beware. I still like this place, though.

Very meh. Cheap and underwhelming. Might be ok if you’re drunk, but I’ll probably never be back here.

ok, here’s my 5 stars: excellent hours. open late enough during the week to(usually) help us survive an emergency late-late dinner with no supplies at home. we only order one thing, really, the super nachos, and they are excellent — and feed both my SO and myself, so dinner is like $ 10 total. really consistent, good folks. never order delivery, so I can’t speak to that, but takeout and to stay are both quick & tasty. tl;dr: perfect down-the-street mexi joint.

i like this place! it is close to the studio I work from so I often get chicken salads, veggie bowls, and guacamole. I like the staff, The food is yummy, the outdoor seating is great, and the salsas are delicious.

Affordable, tons of options, and freakin’ tasty! That’s my summary for this place. It’s a small place with not a lot of seating(and if you come during winter, don’t bother trying to stay here — most of their seating is outside), but the food is really good and the price is right. I had the vegetarian burrito with black beans, sauteed kale, and onions. I can’t remember what my husband got, but I think it had at least 2 different meats on it. We also got the fresh blue corn chips with salsa. Everything was delicious, super fresh, and came to our table quickly. If you’re in the neighborhood(I lived not too far away), this is a great place to grab a filling meal.

I love hole-in-the-wall places that serve cheap, amazing food. The shredded beef taco and fish taco were awesome. Chips were good and the guacamole was okay. But then again, no restaurant has yet beat the guacamole I make, so no stars deducted for just-okay guac. They have about 5 different types of salsa there too, which totally rocks. Can’t wait to go back again and try every single item on their menu.

EASILYTHEBESTFISHTACOINTOWN. The first time I had their fish taco I went back the next day and the day after. Pretty sure my colleagues judge me for it haha

I was born and raised in LA. This place is legit. My ONLY complaint is that the fish tacos are made with ice berg lettuce instead of «cabbage» — which is the true Baja style. The fish tacos were tasty, could have been more crispy but overall generous portions. The reason why this is 4 stars: the SALSABAR is on point. I literally took shots of the red sauce. No lie.

Ordered on seamless for pick up and my grand total miraculously jumped ~$ 4 for some unknown reason. I guess I won’t be doing that again. Anyway, I got the rotisserie chicken a la carte for around $ 12 — it’s a small whole chicken that comes in a paper container and bag cut out on both sides(a little bit messy). For my boyfriend, I ordered the shrimp and steak platter with black beans and mexican rice for around $ 14. I thought the packaging for his meal was really neat as each food had a compartment of its own and endured the long/bumpy ride into the city intact. He said the grilled shrimp was really delicious and seemed to enjoy his meal thoroughly. His platter was supposed to come with guacamole and salsa but both come in really small cups — they could certainly be more generous on the condiments front. As for the store itself — well, I was only in there for about 2 minutes to pick up my food(there was one other lady at the counter). It’s a small shop in a good neighborhood/on a very nice block and I wasn’t expecting for the food to be buffet style behind the counter(a la boston market). Anyways, the store was clean and the worker friendly so all was well on that front. I don’t see myself rushing back anytime soon(maybe I needed to order something less vanilla) but it’s a good staple to have in the back of my mind if I’m in the area.

Totally delicious Mexican food that reminds me of home(California). I got a veggie burrito, which already comes with the stuff a super burrito has(no need to pay extra for guacamole, like so many places make you do). You can also choose to have it «naked»(just the basics) or with fillings like tofu, spinach, mushrooms, etc. The burrito itself was absolutely delicious. My husband had a veggie also, and our friends had nachos and tacos, both of which looked amazing. As advertised, this is true California style, with prices to match. The location is a real hole in the wall, which only makes it feel even more authentic. Minus one star for the terrible service. It wasn’t ALL bad, but it seems as though my experience mirrored that of a few other reviewers. When the lady who took my order came out and handed me a «veggie with rice» burrito, I asked«you mean no rice?» as I ordered my burrito with refried beans and no rice or pico de gallo. She shrugged and handed it to me. So I took a bite and it was indeed wrong. No big deal, right? So when she came back I told her it was wrong, and then she started arguing with me. Super uncool. After repeating multiple times what I wanted, she begrudgingly took away my burrito. A couple minutes later someone else brought me the correct burrito. Problem solved, and easily too. I just wish I hadn’t been given so much attitude. Not including this«customer is wrong» approach that I experienced, everything else was great, right on down to the Mexican Coca-Cola.
