Pizza great. Been ordering forever. Usually over phone. Always wonder why it’s so expensive. 2 dollar delivery fee which they never tell u over phone. That’s annoying.

For me this is the best pizza in the neighborhood, i tried countless other places and only found another that i liked, but no delivery, so thats settled. This review is based on the food and delivery service only since I’ve never eaten inside the place. I love the thin crispy pizza crust and the sauce is always fresh at this place! They don’t just have good pizza, their other selections are great too. I’ve had the linguini with clams there and it’s better than many Italian restaurants I’ve been to. The gnocchi and lasagna are really good too! Delivery is always timely and the person on the phone is efficient without being rude, never any headaches in 2yrs.

Nomnomnom! I know this sounds crazy but come here for the shrimp salad lol it’s so good. I went here with my family for dinner and everyone wanted pizza but I wanted to try something different so I tried the salad. And I’m happy I did. It’s not huge pieces of shrimp, it’s diced shrimp bit it’s really good. And I think the dressing is homemade! I’m a fan?!

My go to Italian spot in the neighborhood. Their caesar salad is great, and their pastas and pizzas are really delicious. I always have to get the grandma slice. They have great little lunch paninis. It’s like the rolled out pizza dough as the bread… freshly baked with and filled with any of the items you choose. When my mom comes to visit, she always likes to get the Chicken Parm.

Inattentive service. Less than mediocre food. I ordered an IPA for my girlfriend, and a Guinness for myself; waitress brought IPAs for us both. The bruschetta’s bread was as firm as a wet sponge.

We just ordered two large margheritas for delivery, and constructed the following Il Porto FAQ: Q: What is in a margherita pizza? A: Whole tomatoes, mozzarella, olive oil… that’s it. Q: What about basil? A: Nope, not at Il Porto. Q: That’s strange, basil is usually on margherita pizzas… And it’s even listed on the Il Porto menu description. Do they let you know that they don’t have basil when you place your order? A: Nope. Q: Hmmm… do they let you know when they deliver the margeritas that there was a change and that they are sorry but they are out of basil? A: Nope. Q: Do they still charge you for the regular price for the full margherita pizza with the promised basil? A: Yep. Q: What happens when you call to complain about the aforementioned discrepancy? A: You get put on hold for six minutes, talk to three guys and finally get offered a five-dollar discount next time you order. Q: What are better pizza places in the area? A: We recommend Luigi( ) or Speedy Romeo( )… buon appetito!

This place is great. My office is nearby and we order their pizza from seamless pretty regularly and it’s always exceptional. Today was the first time we ordered a catered lunch and everyone was beyond satisfied. We had stuffed shells, baked ziti, meatballs, sausage and peppers, Caesar salad and cannoli. They also threw in some great Italian bread and a bruschetta pie for free. Everything arrived on time, warm and well packaged. The cannoli was out of this world! Great to know that there is reasonably priced delicious Italian catering nearby.

Solid Italian spot in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, an area lacking of restaurants. I had a glass of red wine, pasta with bolognese sauce and fresh bread. Everything was really good, and it was such a big portion, I had enough for lunch the next day. I can’t wait to come back and try their pizzas.

Il Porto is a terrific eatery to visit for a variety of reasons — if you are on a date(casual or more formal,) just to grab a slice of their top-notch pizza pie, or perhaps even have a beer and enjoy the convivial and spacious ambiance. I live two blocks away from Il Porto and discovered it quite by mistake. I like to take walks along the Navy Yard and the smell of delicious Italian food wafted in the air and attracted me to Il Porto while I was walking toward the Yard. The family staff, including brothers Anthony and Sal, could not be friendlier and always make it a point to talk to me despite being quite busy preparing take-out and delivery orders. I love to go in there for a slice of pizza pie, which is prepared by a wood burning oven — and this ads unique flavor and consistency to their pizza. Few pizza parlors wood-burning ovens that enhance flavor so much. If and when I ever go on my first date with somebody I certainly would choose Il Porto — either the pizza parlor side or the more formal dining area adjacent to it. The ambiance, cheer, and laid-back feel of Il Porto would be a wonderful environment for two people to get to know each other better while enjoying some of the best Italian food Brooklyn has to offer at moderate prices.

Having heard about this place from friends and wanting to expand our pizza experiences in Brooklyn, we finally got around to ordering it from Seamless one night last week. We tried the traditional margarita pizza which had a flavorful sauce, fresh mozzarella, and basil on top. The crust was slightly charred in that perfect delicious way. Delivery was prompt and faster than expected and the pizza arrived hot. Prices are pretty typical for what you’d expect around here. Next time we hope to try Grandma’s pizza which others tell us is fantastic!

I decided to order from here after being recommended to; I ordered takeout. I got the shrimp parm panini(initially was going to get the Margherita pizza, but I heard the paninis were really good). It’s pretty good, but it reminds me of a shrimp parm you can get at any pizzeria. It’s not extraordinary, but it’s good. It comes with wedge fries and a salad. I personally didn’t like the salad and the fries weren’t to my liking but meh I sound picky. I like how the panini is not like your average panini; meaning it doesn’t have the flat, grilled, crispy bread. Instead, it’s more of a sandwich. The bread is really soft. Next time I come here, I think I’ll order the Margherita pizza.

I have been here a couple of times and every time my food was delish. Make sure you call ahead of time since they take a while. If you are looking for a place to hold an event, they have a nice room in the back with plenty of space. Great price and great food. Prices are reasonable. My Co workers and I just ordered the chicken roll and we all agree it’s the best one we have had.

love, love, LOVE Il Porto. I only have good things to say about this cozy, family-owned restaurant. My advice is to go soon, since that area is rapidly gentrifying and developing — I presume that the ambiance of the restaurant may change as well. My spouse and I bike a ton. We bumped into this restaurant about 4 years ago, when it was the ONLY venue on that block, and it quickly became our favorite local pizza spot. But it is SO much more than that. Their salads, entrees are all top-notch. The food is FRESH, really tasty and you feel like you are eating in a family restaurant in a small town — not Brooklyn. The owner often comes to your table and chats with you and the service is always wonderful. My favorite pizza in NYC is hands-down DiFara. However, due to the 2 – 3 hr wait for a pie there, I only go there 4 – 5 times a year. When I just want a quick slice, I get a margherita slice from Not Ray’s in Fort Greene. However, when I want to order pizza pies or go to a restaurant for pizza and good food — Il Porto is my favorite local spot(bonus: they deliver!). Favorites(In no particular order): 1) Margherita Pizza: Best local and easily accessible pizza in the area(i.e., no need to wait 1 – 3 hours); 2) Cesare(Caesar) Salad — OMG, must order. I have never had a caesar salad like this one. It comes in a dried cheese bowl. It cannot be explained — you have to see it for yourself. It is really delicious; 3) Smoked Ahi Tuna Salad/Insalata di Tonno — It is not on the online menu, but they always have it. It was a special a few years ago and anytime I ask for it — they have it. It has fennel, arugula, lemon and is unique and really special. 4) Tiramisu Martini — I order this for dessert. I don’t usually like sweet drinks — this is actually not sweet, despite the name. It is DIVINE. Perfect end to a meal.

Ordered their grandma pie and I gotta say it’s probably the best grandma pie I’ve ever had. That and the Nutella pizza thing were great. 10 out of 10 Boners. I will most definitely order from here again.

Come here! Italian food and pizza will never be the same! I have been coming here almost since it opened 8 years ago. I used to live very near and have since moved farther and farther away but I still make the trek to Il Porto — tho less than I used to and less than I like. I’ve taken my father here when he was in town and he always wants to come back when he visits. The night my husband proposed to me we came here for dinner after. It was Valentines Day and we had missed our reservation at a new restaurant cause the proposal took longer than he thought it would(they didn’t hold the res– and that’s fine cause this was so much better!) Mo is a wonderful manager! We always feel like we are coming home when we come here! The service is great. The busser/Backwaiter is really on his game. We never want for anything! The food is impeccable — and they will do half/half of their featured pies on one pie! That makes it almost healthy right?!? Lol. On thurs-sat they have live music(a jazz trio) too.

Illegal $ 2 charge of the use of credit card. I’ve enjoyed IL Porto Brick-Oven pizza for years. Tonight I wanted to place an order for a couple of pizzas for dinner. To my absolutely disappointment when I tried to pay for my pizza I was told I will be changed additional $ 2 for the use of a credit card. WTF! I know this is illegal! After paying for my food then tax and tip they think it’s ok to charge more. I am never ordering from here again. Hey guys Brooklyn is crowded with great pizza places. I have to go… my pizza from Speedy Romeo just got here. Try the Kind Brother it’s so good!

Great pizza in a part of town where good pizza is easy to find. Their left entrance leads to their rustic-in-the-cool-way pizza parlour, where they sell singles and whole pies, to eaten on the premises or to go. And to the right is their dining room, which keeps some of the same ambiance in a slightly more sit-down kind of way. They serve a caprese salad, where they toast they tomato first, somewhat of a twist on a classic, but I’m pretty sure I’m clinically addicted to it. And their pizzas are top notch, from the sweet-yet-tangy sauce to the soft, melty cheese, and the variations on the toppings. Their signature pizza is the«Classic Grandma Pie», a square pizza(yes, it IS hip to be square) with a slightly thicker crust than normal NY pizza. Its a good variation, and newcomers to the place should try it, but I have to say that their«normal» round pizzas are my favourites. In the dining room, they also have a more than adequate bar, I recommend trying the signature cocktail, Navy Yard, before dinner. But not with dinner, unless you want to leave dinner feeling more than a little tipsy!
