This is my first Unilocal review. I had an ant problem. I no longer have an ant problem. Wow! David found the nest, took care of business and was not only very effective at his job, but took the time to explain everything.
Jessie in the office was great too. I called on a Monday afternoon and gave me a Tuesday morning appointment. David was running 15 minutes late and called to tell me. Very courteous.
I highly recommend these guys and their company.

A year later I’m seeing this response below. I wrote a huge reply to it because it was asinine, and then realized that the response below makes it seem that they don’t actually recall the instance, and may be confusing mine with someone else’s experience. Most of what is written below did not happen, so I’ll give the benefit of the doubt and assume that it referred to a different person.

I called based on all of the Unilocal reviews and was not disappointed. They gave me an appointment the next day, did not try to sell me on any add’l services i didn’t need and so far all of the bugs in our house have been terminated. The only reason i gave one star less is due to traffic the exterminator was 40min late for our apt which was a bit of an inconvenience.

I think this might say it best: I have been a member of Unilocal for many years and not once have I ever given a review. At times I have felt compelled, but never enough to actually write a review. Green Apple was so great, kind, patient and helpful — I felt I had to write a review! A good one at that!
Green Apple helped with a bed bug situation in my building. They were SUPER helpful and really great with all the questions I had. I must have called at least 10 times in the past 2 weeks with various questions and concerns.
David was the person who came with the aid of a colleague and was amazing! They were thorough and very informative. I literally cannot say enough nice things about David, Jesse and the team at Green Apple. They did not try to up sell me on any products, they were not pushy and were super patient with all my questions and concerns. I can honestly say they were my personal therapists for the past 2 weeks. I have to say, by far, this is one of the best customer service experiences I’ve ever experienced in my life. Richard is awesome!!! I can’t say enough nice things about this company and everyone who works there. I used their services about a year ago when I first moved here. New to NYC, I had no idea just how large ‘waterbugs’ could be. Well almost a year and roach free later I asked them to come out again. Richard was back and I couldn’t be happier. He takes the time to give ideas and tips for keeping bugs at bay. He never once tried to sell me anything, but told me about additional services.
I also have two cats and Richard took just a second to look in their cages and say hello and calm them down a little. It’s so rare to find someone who genuinely cares about animals, people and his job. I wish it was as easy to find great companies like this all the time!!!

My boyfriend and I moved to an amazing apartment last July and quickly realized that we had a pretty bad roach problem in our bathroom. After harassing my landlords several times to no avail (they kept sending over «their guy» to come and spray some toxic stuff that apparently isn’t very effective) I finally took matters into my own hands and called Green Apple.
I was really a mess when I called, but my initial phone call was great. They really put me at ease and assured me that everything they use is safe and non-​toxic, which is important since we have a dog. Jesse and Richard came in for an American cockroach treatment and I could immediately see a difference. The next few weeks we spotted some dead/​dying ones sneaking around the apartment, so clearly whatever they use works quite well.
A couple weeks later I saw some weird fly/​tic looking bug in my bedroom and had a minor panic attack. I took a picture of it and emailed it to them and they, once again, assured me I had nothing to worry about. It was just a random little bug that shouldn’t be a problem.
Being the neurotic person I am I started to realize that with summer approaching bugs were soon going to be a much bigger issue, so I called them again to see how I could really eliminate the problem. I opted for the full seal, which comes with a one-​year warranty. Richard came again today and was extremely thorough, making sure to get into all the nooks and crannies all over the apartment. I obviously haven’t seen results yet but I am so pleased with Green Apple’s amazing customer service and professionalism. Everyone we’ve spoken to has been knowledgeable and extremely patient, making sure to answer all of our questions and addressing our concerns. Highly recommended!

Update: Green Apple has since exterminated. A lot of patience with my animal-​filled home during the process. Professional and, so far, good results!
My one recommendation, which was not recommended to me prior to visit, is to plan to have animals out of the house or secured somewhere in cage/​carrier. Because they needed to spray throughout my home and it took a little while to dry, there were no rooms where I could lock cats in, as all rooms were still wet. I wound up not being able to have my kitchen treated, due to this. I was told that the spray wasn’t harmful and could only cause some stomach upset, at worst, but still a good reason to have animals secured before visit. Skittish kitties are not easy to «secure» with a stranger spraying around the home. I’ll know for next time, as I really do like these guys a lot!!!

I used green apple for a couple of years. They did a decent job, HOWEVER, I was on a contract where they would come quarterly. On more than one occasion, they never called to make an appointment and then charged me anyway. SCAM.

So I’m home sick, ready to recover in bed all day, when I roll over and see a tiny bug on my pillow. Heart stops. Is this the beginning of the nightmare of NYC bedbugs? I stay calm, capture bug, and leave a vm for my helpful exterminators from last year’s cockroach invasion. Jesse calls back in 3min, tells me to take a photo and email it to him; he calls again in less than 10 min, and the nightmare is over. Its a small beetle of no consequence, i can go back to tea-​drinking in bed. No mention of charge or anything, just saved my day and continued about his. These guys are my go to now for the rest of my NYC-​days.

When my insanely itchy bites were diagnosed as bed bugs, we were freaking out. We reached out to Green Apple due to their rave Unilocal reviews, and I must say that they are 100% well-​deserved. I called a few times with different questions and they were always met with knowledge and patience. David and his team came by to diagnose and found live bugs to show us within ten minutes. They came back for a full treatment and the bites stopped immediately afterward. They came again for a second time since we got a two-​treatment package (which I recommend to be safe) and found no new activity. We never found any evidence again — they got them all the first time.
The process of having bed bugs is terrible — it turns your life upside down. David and everyone at Green Apple were a godsend during this time. They genuinely wanted to answer any questions we had and make sure we understood everything. Their work was efficient and effective. Go Green Apple!

I recently had a mouse problem, which had me unglued as he ran around my flat.
I called on a Thursday, David & Richard came early the next morning.
I received more support than I expected, they cared and took my situation as serious as I did.
They pulled out all appliances, checking the basement in detail, every closet and cabinet.
They closed the larger holes with metal netting, filling in smaller cracks, while explaining what they found and giving me tips to make it 100% secure.
We received an itemized receipt, felt like the price was more than fair for the time they spent with us and it includes a 60 day warrenty

These guys are really incredible. I woke up being bitten by a bed bug recently, and called them because a friend had had a good experience. They fit me in for a treatment the next day. Jesse was super patient answering my questions and talking me through the prep process. He never pushed me to buy additional services; I went with the baseline package, since I was relatively certain I’d caught the problem early, and he was super supportive of that decision instead of trying to upsell me. David, who’s a bed bug specialist, and another gentleman whose name I didn’t catch, came and treated my place. They were super kind and really professional, talked me through the service plan, explained that they were treating on several fronts (both proactive and preventative). When I came back, they walked me through what they’d found, assured me that they thought I’d caught the problem super early, took the time to explain why, and even left a monitor and trap behind my bed. That was great; anyone who’s had BBs before knows that they can cause PTSD levels of trauma and many sleepless nights. Being able to take a peek at the monitor and trap every morning and seeing that there were no bugs in it really helped me get to sleep!
Since then, I’ve called with a million questions («is this a dead bed bug?» «How long does the poison stay active?» «should I buy a mattress cover?» etc.). Jesse has taken every single call, and the one time I didn’t get him on the phone, he called me back within minutes. He has never made me feel hysterical or annoying, he’s just super patient, answers every question, and has been incredibly comforting.
Look, bed bugs are a real problem in NYC, in part because people try to cheap out on dealing with them. It’s NOT WORTH IT. You’ll spend the next six months dealing with bugs that are moving from place to place in your apartment/​building, and you’ll end up shelling out more than you would if you’d just hired these pros in the first place. The owner is an entomology PhD. They’re bug nerds of the highest order, and I mean that in the most flattering way possible. I really can’t recommend them highly enough. THANK YOU GREEN APPLE FOR ALLOWING ME TO SLEEP AGAIN!

I have been a home owner for about 8 years and it’s a old house (built in 1894). As a resident of NYC for over 30 years I have adjusted to the fact of City life called mice… Since moving into the house I would have a sighting of the creatures and droppings. I had used another local company 2 times before and it did some good. However the problem would come back. I engaged in some self help and this had limited success. The final straw recently came when the mice got into my fancy stove and ate into its internal computer wires which caused the oven to malfunction. It costed me almost $ 500.00 to repair!!! I knew I had to final seek a FINAL SOLUTION.
I read the reviews for several companies on Unilocal and liked what I read about Green Apple. The response was swift and I got an immediate appointment. Richard and Joseph appeared at my door promptly as promised and went quickly to work. They promptly surveyed the entire 3 floors of the house and asked questions about my «mouse history. The team had no problems with all my questions and with me following them throughout the service. My prior experience with the other company was nothing like the professional performance I got from Green Apple. These guys are GOOD AND BAITED ALL OVER THE HOUSE… They put down traps throughout and sealed places I never knew could be problematic. It was pricey but I know this is a great Christmas gift to my home!!! So far so good but I know Richard and Joseph will be there if anything arises. A great consumer experience for me!!!

These guys were great! They took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly and made sure to give me lots of suggestions for ways to keep my apartment pest-​free in the future. They also called me to let me know that an appointment cancellation meant they could come to my home even earlier, which was very much appreciated. The appointment took about 1 — 1.5 hours, and the extermination team was pleasant and professional throughout. Really highly recommend Green Apple!
P. s. I also loved that one of the team (David?) even chatted with me about some of my book collection as he worked! Always fun to meet another a Hunger Games fan!

I love these guys. Within the span of a week, I had very painful surgery and discovered bedbugs. Jesse was a true gem. He talked me off the ledge, told me he would «handle the problem,» and walked me through the process. He even availed himself to repeated phone calls, bordering on hysterics. Throughout the process he was kind, patient and made me feel at ease.
Dave, Rob, and Richie all did my extermination treatments and were courteous, polite and thorough. From their first visit, we had no problems and slept in peace. Plus, they give a 6 month warranty – about 3x as long as any other service I called. Their prices are reasonable (given the problem) and I found them ALL to be incredibly polite, responsive and caring. I really cannot speak more highly of this crew.

My husband and I had been struggling with a mouse problem for the better part of a year, trying all kinds of different solutions to try and stave them off/​trap them. Finally, at my wit’s end and tired of sterilizing the kitchen counters over and over, we decided to call in the professionals.
Green Apple came out and were very thorough, looking for every hole they could find that might be a potential entry point and filling each, leaving traps out as well. The majority of signs that mice are around & about in our apt vanished almost immediately.
About three weeks later, I found one small dropping and called them back in — we were still under warranty, so Richie came to check all the traps and re-​fill each with fresh bait.
They have been prompt, professional, helpful and friendly at each step along the way, and we are so grateful for their help in our fight against mice!

My wife and I had been dealing with a serious roach problem for several months. We tried cleaning extensively, dropping boric acid, the whole nine yards. Once we realized we were outnumbered, we called Green Apple for help.
I left a message, and received a call back within an hour. The man on the phone was friendly and informative. Within two days, a nice guy named Richie, came by to bomb the place. He was helpful in answering my questions, and pointed out areas where we could improve caulk/​seals, etc. It took him about an hour to take care of the kitchen and bathroom.
It has been 4 days, so I will likely post an update once things have settled in. For now, let me just say that, we have seen roaches, but they have all been dead. So far, so good. Fingers crossed.

We’ve had a pretty serious roach problem in our 99% amazing apartment. We have a couple of cats, so we were conscious of the pest management methods we went with. After reading the outstanding reviews Green Apple received on Unilocal so far, I decided to call.
They came over later that afternoon within a 3 hour window. They even reminded me to make sure to call them if the exterminator didn’t arrive within that hour and they would get right on the case. Luckily, he showed up just on time at the beginning of the window.
He was so kind and courteous the entire time, being mindful of my cats throughout. Keeping them safe while eliminating all pests was top priority to him! He knew his stuff while explaining to me what he was doing. And, shoot, was he thorough! We had some cracks in our ceiling, and he even treated those.
I’m really astonished with the level of service and kindness I received from an industry that I wouldn’t typically expect it from. So pleased!
