I was in the store just browsing yesterday. All Christmas displays are up and my 3 year old Granddaughter was in awe; her eyes lit up like a little one does on Christmas morning… Yes, Christmas through the eyes of a child! While she was near the tree display, kneeling down, gently looking and not at all being destructive, one of the «Scrooge» Managers scurried over while yelling and went to touch her shoulders motioning to pull her away… until I said, I got this and led her by the hand away from his precious display. He was venting and opposing everything I was suggesting about the wonderment of children and the display in his store. For this reason alone, I will NEVER go into that store again. Keep your crappy items!

If you’re looking to buy generic home goods (kitchen supply, bathroom, etc) on Amazon, just come here. I found a glass Pyrex ovenware for 50% less than Amazon. I always pick up ziplocks, hand sanitizer, shower curtain ($ 3!), kitchen wipes, etc.

Got a great deal on running gear — summer tanks and shorts, each $ 5-​$ 6. A huge bargain.
The folks at the register were very nice. Items are returnable, too.

A step up from a 99 cent store, a variety of products (cleaning, clothes, decorations, household, bathroom stuff, etc.) I mainly come here when I need outdoor decorations for the holidays, because it’s cheap, and I can throw it out afterwards. I don’t like to buy shampoo, deodorant etc from these discount places, I’ve read that some places her cheap fake products from China, so I go to rite aid for my necessities. But if you need a pop up hamper, this would be the place to find it.

If I had to give one piece of advice about this place, it would be to come often. You might go once and everything seems too cheap-​looking or is irregular/​damaged or just not your style, but then on another day they’ll have premium brand-​name rejects from Target or Kohl’s for 90% off. No joke, I once bought a shirt here for ONE dollar and it’s such good quality that I’m still wearing it four years later. Now that’s a deal.

Just moved here from Los Angeles. With the effort it takes to go to a target out here I was hoping to find something closer to my house and CHEAPER. I found the gold mine. I will never go back to Target. This place has EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING. It is cheap and awesome. I am going to head on over there today. So if you are new to Park Slope and on a budget to survive in NYC… this is the place to go!

I was walking aimlessly north from my aunt’s in Sunset Park and I decided 9^th street would be my stopping point.
I went in looking for men’s basics– underwear, socks, pajamas. I didn’t find any of those things I did ind lounge pants to wear to sleep and they were cheaper tan the sweats I bought earlier this weekend.

This place might smell a little like factory chemicals and have an overwhelming array of sugary tropical juices from concentrate, but don’t let that fool you. Somewhere between the time I bought underwear here to my most recent visit during which I found a fancily tailored, amply hooded, stylish jacket made of all-​weather Polarfleece for $ 9.99, it’s become my mission to do DII justice.
Located at a central crossroads where Park Slope meets normal Brooklyn and several routes of public transit by train and bus, this bargain store has every regular household good that you ever resented overpaying for at CVS, Duane Reade, Rite Aid, Target, or even WalMart. Ever check out from a chain drugstore or home goods place and wonder how in the damn hell you ended up spending $ 80 bucks? Well, you won’t have to wonder that anymore if you come here. You’ll find things like:
*Tall bottles of original Palmolive liquid dish detergent for $ 1 each
*$ 1 rubber gloves
*$ 1 sponges
*32 ounces of cocoa butter lotion for $ 2.99 (will last you like a year, and works every bit as well as a fancy LUSH lotion even if you have skin issues and swim frequently in chlorinated pools)
*$ 1 sets of 12 metal and plastic shower rings
*$ 3 shower curtains without hideous prints
*$ 3-​$ 5 shower curtains with prints that aren’t any more hideous than those found in other low-​end or high-​end stores
*Folding chairs
*Generic toiletries, like valuepacks of household name soaps and 2-​in-​1 shampoo/​conditioners

Basically, when it comes to any of the shit that you hate buying, yet need to replace or replenish just as sure as death and taxes do arrive to us all, DII is your place, with closeout and overstock items of nonperishable goods featuring prices that can’t even be beat by those churned out by corporate chains’ Chinese labor and undercutting schemes.
Plus, service is friendly, and staff from all corners of the roomy, well-​kept space are actually knowledgeable about where the randomest stuff is. The doorguards are courteous, vigilant, and nonjudgmental, and will even provide advice on neighborhood businesses if you ask them.
Just try it, and thank yourself later as you shower, wash the dishes, scrub pans, and do all the mundane things that are unavoidable to this thing called life.

I would put DII a step up from the 99 cent discount stores and a step below Target. It’s clean, spacious, and offers a variety of things at ridiculously good prices.
I normally come here for items like Tupperware, serving trays, and bathroom accessories– basically, stuff that is convenient to have, but doesn’t necessarily need to be of the highest quality.
However, this place is great when it comes to Christmas stuff– they always have an awesome assortment of wrapping paper, stickers, and gift tags. To give you an idea, I believe I paid $ 1.99 for a set of 12 Christmas cards– they weren’t Crane’s quality, but they weren’t cheesy, either!
Convenient store to have in the neighborhood… A-​OK.

Wow, a four-​pack of Charmin Ultra Strong TP (yes, the good stuff!) for $ 1.29! Dee II is perfect for stocking up on the types of essentials that you run through quickly: toilet paper, toothpaste, socks, paper plates, gloves to replace the ones you keep losing… You’ll def snag good deals on those. It mostly carries low grade wares (dinky furniture, lingerie, PJs), but it comes in handy for the holidays when you need a cheap little plastic Christmas tree or ornaments or random drugstore-​type purchases (I got lots of Halls Breezers for cold season). It’s a little ghetto (albeit a new store in the Slope) and the people working there are kinda surly, but get in, get the goods, and get out. You’ll rarely find exaaaaaactly what you’re looking for at Dee II («D II»), but wander in and you might find the stuff you forgot you needed anyway.
