Awesome little hole in the wall in Cobble Hill! First of all, the quantity of the food is definitely worth the price tag — I got a lamb platter(which comes with salad, tzatziki sauce, pita bread, hummus, and rice) — all for $ 8. If that’s not a steal, I don’t know what is! We also got a side order of Belgian Fries for $ 3; they tasted more like cajun fries, but I didn’t care because it was delicious and super crispy, and for $ 3, you get enough to split with a friend. My lamb platter was delicious — lamb was super juicy, and I really appreciated all the sides that came with it. Rice and hummus could’ve used a little more salt, but I didn’t mind. We also got a mango smoothie($ 5) — pretty good, but the taste I kept getting was more banana than mango.

What a busy little place on Court Street. Food was great. Had the Falafel salad plate for $ 7.50. Huge amount of food: olives, tomatoes, cukes, falafel, Romaine lettuce, feta cheese and tzatziki dressing. Peta too. Their Mint Ice Tea was so good! This place also does lots of juices and smoothies. No wonder the place is packed!

Consistently the best food in Cobble Hill. Everything is special, these guys do a dynamite job. Except when they run out of Belgian fries.

I have enjoyed their Belgian fries, Chicken Kebab, fresh Lemonade but the Falafels they make are not good at all unfortunately(Heights Falafel in Brooklyn Heights by far the best falafel) and the rice is sub par ~ the guys that work there are really nice and delivery is pretty fast.

I wanted to try the smoothies in carrol gardens and I stopped into here. Really great atmosphere, friendly workers and very tasty smoothies. I had the happy mango and it was Delish. I plan on heading back for some food. Let’s see!

I happened to walk by and wanted one of their special breakfast wraps. It was spinach, mushroom, egg and jack cheese. A nice dollop of hot sauce and I was on my way. They let me try their home made mint tea and I grabbed a glass. I sat outside enjoying one of the first hot days. There was a small area with 2 benches, a little table and some greenery. I ordered a few spinach pies to go which were delightful! Not a ton of filling but the filling was perfectly balanced spinach/onion concoction. I grabbed some baklavah as well. They weren’t sweet enough for me but may be perfect if you are looking for a less sugary version. Overall, I am looking forward to coming back and trying their more middle Eastern wraps, platters and sandwiches.

The consistency of the food and service does not disappoint. Try the Chicken BLT or Hanger Steak Sandwich. The staff remains some of the most professional, welcoming, and efficient I’ve seen in the industry.

My sister and I stopped into Darna Falafel while visiting a family member in Brooklyn. Our food came very quickly and it was priced well. The menu has a wide variety of things; I got a falafel sandwich, while my sister got a chicken sandwich. We both really enjoyed our meals. We also got amazing tea that I am still thinking about a month later. Would definitely recommend for a quick, cheap bite to eat.

I absolutely love their Kifta wraps. My people, once you take a bite out of the wrap your taste buds will rejoice in ecstasy. I pair it with their mint iced tea and I was in heaven. I even took 2 to go(and one was devoured on the train, I couldn’t wait).

Super delicious and cheap! Small place(a few tables), friendly service, and the falafel was sizeable. Oh, and get the belgian frieds($ 3), they come with sauce and are super delicious. I’m drooling right now jut thinking about them. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area.

This was my first time trying Yemenite food. It was described as a mixture of Middle Eastern and American. Either way it’s delicious. I had the chicken kifta wrap. It had a great spicy kick similar to buffalo sauce in heat. The wrap was seasoned very well and the fries were amazing. The staff was very pleasant and took time to explain the dishes which was appreciated plus they are all handsome men so BONUS! I topped off the meal with the spiced Yemen tea which paired well with the flavors. The only thing that could have made this better would be a toasted pita vs a wrap. It is something I would definitely order again though!

I’ve been a Unilocal lurker for a long time. There are a hundred different restaurants I want to review but I’m starting with Darna because of how much I’ve grown to like this place. I believe that you shouldn’t review a restaurant until you’ve eaten there on at least two or three occasions, preferably at different times of the day. Why? Because some restaurants definitely change with the staff. That dish you thought was amazing when you bought it for dinner on a Saturday evening might be terrible when you buy it for lunch on a Wednesday. I like my restaurants the same way I like my friends — consistent. Don’t build me up just to break me down. I’ve eaten at Darna at least 50 – 60 times over the past two years. I haven’t once been disappointed. The Chicken Kifta wrap is always amazing. They don’t skimp on the meat here. The side salad it comes with has always been amazing(for a side salad). Very fresh greens. However, the pro tip of the day here, the secret to success at Darna, is to order a cup of the Yemen tea. There’s nothing better than escaping a cold windy day in Darna and drinking some of that tea. They used to keep the tea near the sidewall with the ingredients posted so I tried to make it myself once. Obviously they must have held back on revealing the exact recipe because my tea tasted awful.

I have always enjoyed Middle-Eastern cuisine so knowing that Cobble Hill offers a myriad of restaurants with Mediterranean food makes me jump for joy! After a day out exploring Brooklyn and getting some shopping done we wanted some Mediterranean food as our late lunch. Unilocal came to our rescue and we found ourselves 100 ft away from Darna Falafel! So in we went and we were not disappointed. We had the falafel salad and the lamb plate. It was pure deliciousness. The balls of falafel were juicy inside and crisp on the outside. Totally my thing. The lamb plate has a lot of lamb, rice, side salad, pita bread and hummus. The lamb is so tender and I enjoyed the spices they use for the marinate. They also had a variety of fresh fruit juices. We tried the greens for a healthy option and enjoyed it. It does have a little sit-down area with just a few tables. I imagine it could fill up quickly during lunch/dinner hours. I ordered the baklava as my dessert, but they forgot about that order and I had to remind them after our meal. By that point I was already too full so I asked for it to go instead. They wonderfully gave me an extra piece foc and packaged them nicely in a box for me to take home. I enjoyed it as my supper that evening =)

Phenomenal little place. Falafel was fresh, green and excellent. The owner is a wonderful American who was born in Yemen and his family has a rich and sincere history in the neighborhood. Great attitude and customer service. The mint ice tea they make is phenomenal. Truly looking forward to future visits.

Stale pita, mediocre chicken ! Staff was friendly but the food wasn’t up to the mark at all. Unilocalers really rave about this place but sadly we were disappointed . I don’t think we will return.

Nice, cozy space with the most beautiful flowers. Friendly, quick service. Last and most important, the food was DELICIOUS and FRESH! I had the steak platter and mint ice tea… Best ever! Can’t wait to try the other items in their menu.

I live within walking and decided to stop in for quick dinner before hitting the books. This has proved to be the best decision I’ve made this week. I ordered the Kifta Wrap to stay and not a minute after I had sat down, a beautifully plated wrap cut on the bias was placed before me. The Kifta wrap came with a side salad and cucumber/yogurt dressing what was extremely refreshing. Service was more than welcoming and made it an really nice experience. This was much appreciated and unexpected. Considering the quality of food, service, and value, I’d be happy to come back again soon and would recommend to others

First thing I noticed when I walked in was how low the prices are for a platter. Also, they have a huge variety of salads, sandwiches, platters and even smoothies so you can indulge or be healthy. Had the steak platter which set me back just shy of $ 10. It was amazing– the steak was plentiful and seasoned SO well. I can still taste it. Hubby had the lamb platter and was also blown away by the tender meat and superb flavor. Platters are huge and include a huge portion of seasoned rice, hummus, salad, pita and sauce. We ordered two platters, a smoothie and bottle of water and spent $ 23 only. Also, bonus points for the smoothies: he made too much so basically gave us two for one. I already adore Court street in Cobble Hill but now I love it even more.
