Man, I’m saddened, crestfallen, really. I truly wanted to like Best Pizza. I’ve seen the owner, Frank Pinello, on Munchies, and the Pizza Show … seems like a really cool guy, with a dedication to pizza that’s to be respected. Anyway, Best Pizza seems to show up on a good portion of those top 10 pizza shop lists; a solid 4 stars on Unilocal, and the pizza place that the delusional, Katie Parla, crowned paramount to Di Fara’s in 2014. Bold claims, that were in no way, shape, or form lived up to. I’m honestly dumbfounded as to how this place has received such rave reviews. Is this the only New York slice these people have ever tried? Because that’s exactly what you’re getting: the typical New York slice. You could randomly walk into any halfway decent pizza place anywhere in the 5 boroughs, hell, even Long Island, and odds are you’ll get a $ 2 slice that is on par with Best Pizza. It’s been stated that they’re using premium ingredients, and I don’t doubt that, but somehow it doesn’t translate to premium pizza. For the record, I had the regular, the pepperoni, and the white. The white slice was the best of the three, and the only one that even slightly stood out. It’s a pretty unique slice, but it doesn’t help to overcome the mediocrity of the other two slices.

I finally tried best pizza… what is a the fuss about!!! Go to Anna Maria’s or Joes if you’re in Williamsburg instead.

Totally brilliant — we tried the Grandma slice, pepperoni and veggie slice and all were pretty much perfect. Thin, crispy, just the right amount of grease and extremely tasty.

I loved my first bite of pizza– they have a fantastic tomato sauce that is packed with flavor, bright, and with lots of basil. The cheese was also good. The dough was unfortunately tough to even bite through. This was probably a combination of my pizza being terribly burnt(see photo) and the too-thin issue. All I could taste was the charcoal of the burnt crust. Very disappointing!

With the generic name and throw-back interior, you would never guess that Best Pizza is as good as it is. Best Pizza looks like a lot of old-school small town pizza places with a bunch of no-frill booths, and pizza plates with drawings from customers adorning all the walls. Because of this tribute to these pizza places of old(that were special to you because they were YOUR pizza spot, even if there wasn’t anything objectively amazing about the pizza itself), it’s almost shocking how good the pizza here is. Unlike its decorated(and inferior though still great) Brooklyn neighbor, DiFara, you would have no clue that this is a beloved and acclaimed spot from walking in. It’s the equivalent of having a pleasant conversation with a guy named Barry and then we you ask what he does for a living at the end of your conversation, he casually mentions that he’s the president of the united states. The best option on the menu is the Grandma Slice. It’s the kind of slice that you wish was less filling so you could make room for more of it. Immediately after having it for the first time I started looking forward to coming back. This is a pizza place that has mastered everything that makes pizza great and makes it look like it’s no big deal. A must-visit if you’re in Brooklyn.

Your average Brooklyn pizza. I don’t get the hype, this from a born and raised Brooklynite. It’s like any pizza shop on any corner in any neighborhood in Brooklyn. Maybe my review reflects the fact that I drove out of my way to try it. Seeing it included in some top pizza lists I don’t get it. I guess if I lived in walking distance might give it another star but would not recommend by any means going out of your way to try it. We tried four of their different slices and none of them blew us away or was even memorable for that matter.

There are so many pizza places in NYC and since we were in Williamsburg, we decided to stop by here. I saw a lot of people order take-out so even though there might be a long line, you may have a chance to sit inside to eat. My friend and I came before dinner hours so we were able to enjoy our meals inside the shop. We ordered the regular cheese pizza for $ 20 which wasn’t too bad for how big it was. Even though it was cheese, I didn’t feel like the cheese was too overwhelming. I don’t really like too much cheese so I was a bit afraid of the pizza before it came out. However, the pizza was quite good! The pizza was thin-crust with the right amount of sauce on it. It wasn’t too soggy and impossible to hold with my hands. I kind of wished we tried different toppings on it but overall, I was still satisfied in the end. Between two people, we had leftovers and took some to-go.

Anchovies on the pizza. Best Pizza offers a ridiculously well-engineered slice with perfect harmony among the sauce, crust and fresh cheese. The dough is made with(one presumes) a mixture of flours containing semolina. The single leaf of basil accents what may be considered the sushi of Brooklyn slices. Cooked at retarded temperatures in a wood and brick oven that doesn’t get poppin’ until noon, best pizza MUST be folded. It’s crispy, delicate, never oily, but frankly, always too expensive at $ 3.25 for a classic slice. Still, I keep coming back. Maybe it’s the music.

Not the«best pizza,» but it’s definitely up there! I love the vibe of the restaurant. What pizzeria do you know that plays hip hop? Love it and the service was good. Thank me later!

One of my favorite take out pizza places! You NEED to try the grandma pizza here. It is out of this world. I don’t know how they manage to make their pizza dough so fluffy. almost like focaccia. I will occasionally add pepperoni to it as well if I’m in a carnivorous mood.

We were visiting Brooklyn for a show. I typed in «Best Pizza In Brooklyn» in google and it, of course, brings up this place, that is actually called«Best Pizza». Genius. We walk over and down a few blocks and go in. It’s a small place, covered in paper plates with drawings all over them. The guys working the counter were really cool and welcoming. I ordered a cheese pizza and when it came out I was in amazement. I think we all were. Just that«Oooooh» Ahh” factor. The slices were as big as my head, as New York style pizza should be. All I can say is that this is the best cheese pizza I have ever had, and my friends and I still talk about it all the time. Next time we’re back in Brooklyn, we will defiantly be back here. I’m glad that they live up to their name.

A hidden gem! I found BESTPIZZA last weekend tucked behind the BQE and Metropolitan while waiting for friends and was pleasantly surprised. It was very affordable(less than $ 9 for a Peroni and grandma slice of pizza), and the staff was friendly! The slice of pizza was the perfect amount of bread, sauce and cheese, not too thick, perfectly crunchy, and 100% delicious. I would highly recommend to anyone!

Came here on a weekday afternoon so the place was pretty empty and hence 2min wait for our pizza — 2 slices of cheese and 1 slice of grandma. The crust was just amazing, best I’ve ever had tbh. A bit on the pricey side but worth the buck. My friend who used to swear by Joe’s as the best pizza in NYC converted to the dark side of Best Pizza afterward. I’ve read raving reviews on their white pizza as well which I’ll make sure to try at my next visit. Décor is really interesting unlike the typical pizzeria — a mix between coffee shop and tattered eccentric thrift store. Not sure about wifi but I saw power outlets above the bench seats! Also got self-serve water and condiments. Really cool spot and awesome pizza, can’t wait to come back.

We came across an article that mentioned this place had good pizzas & we decide to give it a try. Stopped by Saturday afternoon the place was kinda empty we seemed to have arrived just before a big rush since once we got our order the place got packed. Drinks we got some Peroni beer, always liked this beer nice taste. Simple menu I tried the White & Grandma pizza, my friend had the regular & grandma. White pizza seems to be popular here did notice a lot of people getting it, white pizza was good nice taste but score one for Grandma, this one was Delicious nice tasting sauce good slice. Regular was ok, grandma was the clear winner for us. As for the place itself small, not much on the décor they have a bunch of plate decorations apparently u can draw on a Plate if they like it it gets displayed kinda cool. Service was quick, decent prices the pizza was pretty good this is not quite my neighborhood but worth a try & a future visit.

There’s a scene in the Will Ferrell movie Elf that I’m sure plenty of other people think of when they come here. Our hero, a naïve first-time visitor to New York, sees an advertisement in a coffee shop claiming they had the world’s best coffee. «CONGRATULATIONS!», he shouts. «You did it!» Best Pizza is similar, yet superior, to that fictional coffee shop. Is it the best pizza in New York? No. Is it easily in the top five? Yes! In fact, for the experience alone, it definitely gets a huge bump over some of the others(looking at you, Di Fara) that come with some«anti-perks» like hour longs waits or trips to the very southern tip of Brooklyn. Best Pizza is nestled snuggly in the middle of Williamsburg(«Dubsburg» as the cool kids call it) and rocks the slice game. Unlike the trend of fancy, full size pies, BP(not the oil spill variety) excels in the single slice offering. The Grandma slice sent me flashing back through my childhood, when my Grandma would fire up the wood burning oven in her kitchen and make us all delicious slices for every meal of the day. I assume that’s why it’s called a Grandma slice, at least? Regardless, it was amazing and worth its price tag and I will try to go there whenever I get a chance. Thank you as always to Brooklyn for bringing the noise with their pizza.

I visited this place as part of the«Williamsburg Bites» tour from Like A Local — highly recommended, by the way. I enjoyed three types of pizza. First up was the red sauce pizza, with beautifully bubbling cheese and dinner plate-sized leaves of fresh basil. Then we had the white pizza, which was possible even better — the caramelized onions on top were so sweet that I mistook them for figs. The vegetable pizza was incredible, and it had my favorite crust of the three — so chewy and oily. We ended with a mini tour of the pizza oven and an employee talked to us about the history of the place. Yummy and educational!

This is the best takeout/delivery spot in Williamsburg, not including Motorino, which is a totally different(highbrow) style anyway. White slice — This is the slice to get if you’re not getting anything else. Solid parmesan with a bite, extremely sweet caramelized onions, and a very strong sesame flavored crust. If you’re just stopping for once slice(but why would you do that?), get this. Grandmother slice — The inversion of the white slice. Sauce, with little to no cheese. Fluffy and bready, almost like a foccacia. A little more cakey than most other grandmother slices, and smaller than a Sicilian. Still excellent. Regular slice — one of the best cheap regular slices in the city. Akin to dollar pizza, but obviously a few(million) cuts above. Meatball sub — Meatballs are a little small, but overall far more flavorful, kicky, and with a stronger herbal component than your run of the mill meatball hero. Get it to go, take it home, try not to muss your pants.

Best Pizza is not an exaggeration at all. Once again Brooklyn delivers on serving up fresh tasty pizza that makes you want to forego any summer beach bod goals. I came here a couple weeks ago to catch up with a friend. We ordered the veggie slice and white cheese for each. The purpose of our meeting was to catch up and make plans for the fall. But we could not stop discussing various details of the delicious pizza we were feasting on. Perfect thin crust, right amount of cheese and sauce. Let’s not forget caramelized onions on the white cheese pizza. Don’t knock it until you try it! Yes this pizza joint is kinda pricey. Yes the options are limited but that means they just stick to what they do best. Yes you should try it out if in the area and I will certainly be back!

This is the same slogan as those places with signs in their Bodegas: WORLDSBESTCOFFEE Best Pizza? I mean, it was an average pizza at best(See what I did there?) We walk into a very old looking spot. The ceiling fan has about an inch of dust. There are paper plates on the wall with drawings from the customers. How do my teenagers know about this place? Action Bronson came here, took weed and made it a condiment topping… I ordered an Original pizza. Fresh and hot out of the oven, its a nice looking pizza with a nice crust. Do you know how you can take any NYC slice, fold it and some oil drips out? This cheese was flavorless. Picture Kim Kardashian without her ass. It’s missing something. The pizza needs more flavor! I’ll be back, i’m sure my son away in college wants to try the White pie(Weedless of course) Best Pizza, it was good and I recommend coming here to get fresh pizza for dinner. It’s a neighborhood pizza place, not the best but just like the rest
