Not sure what happened here, but this place is on my block, and I used to go all the time. Recently however the entire staff quit and since then things have become comically bad. I ordered salami and egg and the kid working just picked up a tube of meat and said«is this salami»? Every time I’ve been in since the staff quit it’s taken 20 minutes to get my bagel, and they always give me the wrong kind. Steer clear. The owner is nice but slower than slow.

This is a racist deli with awful employees and really awful racist customers. I’ve never been treated so poorly anywhere in my entire life in BK. It should just be as easy as trying to get some food in a bagel spot. But white and non-black customers are. l not even acknowledged. I thought maybe they were just busy with the TEOCUSTOMERSBEFOREME. But they neglected and ignored a few black customers after me. It was disgusting and really heart-breaking. Do not come here.

Me: «Hi! What is the ‘Deluxe Ham’ that’s in the Little Italy sandwich?» Them: «It’s ham.» Me: «But, it’s deluxe and that usually means Prosciutto in Little Italy. So… What is it here?» Them: «I don’t know. Maybe it’s the same ham.» My wife: «Are you new?» Them: «No.» Me: «Ok, nevermind. Do you have Cracked Pepper Turkey?» Them: «No.» Me: «Yeah, you do. It’s right here.» Them: «This?» Me: «No, the one I’m pointing at.» …eventually, we get our sandwiches, pay, and leave. Don’t go here. Go to La Bagel Delight on Lafayette St. Superior in every way, including not being stoned out of their minds.

I live down the block so I will continue to go here anyhow every weekend but I must say, it’s very disorganized, slow, and DONOTORDERFROMTHEOLDERGUY, FAIRSKINNED, BLUEEYES. He ALWAYS messes up my order like clockwork– EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Even some of the others that work there seem annoyed with him. Even so, bagels are good, a little light on the cream cheese, and the drink selection is low at least for Snapple which I love. But it’s not bad. It’s just as my stars say — A-Okay. Donuts there are delicious though!

Hate to do this, but every single time I go into this place they screw up my sandwich. Literally, every single time. Today both of my orders were wrong, so I called, had them write down and read my order back to me, and when I got the new sandwiches home they were both wrong. AGAIN. We’re talking pastrami instead of roast beef, honey mustard instead of mustard, no tomatoes, missing cheddar. Super frustrating. I’ll go elsewhere from now on.

The bagels are pretty soft and good; service can be a little spotty.

They carry Harney & Sons which makes me happy. The b&w’s are really good. Coffee hits the spot. Guy working was pleasant. Prices are cheap.

I just left Bagel World stunned… I am a black CPA who have patronize this location since it was open and have generally enjoyed their food. Today, I was overtly ignored as I stood on line by two separate white employees. They both took orders from two white customers who stood behind me… mouths, dropped!

One of my best friends lives directly across the street so we are here all the time. It initially started with the sugar cookies and rainbow sprinkles. I have no idea why I am addicted to this cookie. When I go and visit my friend I also like to stop in for a coffee and breakfast sandwich. The staff is nice, haven’t had any issues. Well maybe one, my only issue is they never pay attention to the order in which people come in. So you should pay attention yourself or you may be skipped. Other than that the staff is quick with your order. There’s a bonus seating area in the back.

Bagel World is one of the go-to places for my coworkers and I as its only a block away. The staff is friendly and hard working. During the week, service is generally quick and you can get in and out easily. The weekend, however, is another story. Expect a long line and slow service. Some customers can try to cut the line(it’s not the most organized system) so pay attention to make sure you don’t miss your turn. In terms of the bagels, they’re very fresh… I like the blueberry and the crazy rainbow vanilla ones they have sometimes. This may sound strange but I also like how they cut the bagels here(into four pieces, makes it so much easier to eat on the go!). The breakfast sandwiches are good and made fresh with eggs, cheese, and meats. They also have a selection of pastries(muffins, Danishes, croissants, cookies, cupcakes) which are tasty too. Black and white cookie is my favorite pick me up snack, or the little bags of fresh chocolate chip cookies they have near the register. Feel free to ask for your muffin to be toasted if that’s up your alley… make it so much better! I’ve also had various lunch sandwiches here and found the portions to be enormous(expect a solid inch of meat) and they’re willing to customize it however you like, while also having a set menu of different sandwich combinations. They have a few coolers with different drink choices(soda juice smoothies gatorades, anything you can think of really). In the winter they offer soups(from Hale and Hearty I believe) and offer a special for under $ 5 where you can get a big serving a soup and a bagel… best deal around! They have a few tables inside and out back but no restroom. We’ve eaten in the back and had the place to ourself which was nice! Great place for a quick bite anytime of day. They accept credit cards too with no minimum. Best place to grab a picnic lunch or dinner for Fort Greene park without breaking the bank.

Went in there just about everyday for the past week or so to order the same thing. But the funny part is that the price would either go up or go down by 50 cents. When I finally said something I got attitude. Didn’t understand that. Ordered a cheeseburger once ask to make sure it was well done, it wasn’t. Then when I asked to make sure I got cheddar cheese the man rolls his eyes at me. Lol. I think when business see a high traffic of business they tend to let the customer service side slip through the cracks. It’s like dating today, a lot of men don’t have to «court» a date anymore. They usually get want they are wanting the first night. So why roll out all the stops? Well I’m old fashioned, you treat me like doo doo, I won’t ever return. There too many other coffee shops in this neighborhood that would appreciate my business.

Very good bagels. The belly slammer on a hero is a guilty pleasure of mine. Attentive service. It’s one of my go to spots.

Some advice … check your order before you leave. I get frustrated with this place because I want to support them but nine times out of ten my order is wrong. Just today I ordered a bagel and they didn’t get the ingredients correct. And behind me in line there was a guy complaining that he got the wrong omelet the day before. Nice guys, but lots of trouble getting orders right.

Mysteriously delicious everything bagel at 9pm. Also, bacon & herb cream cheese. I was sitting across the street at a pretty pretentious, overpriced bar, and the mediocre food and my waiter’s distasteful facial expressions made me hungry enough to cross the street. I was SO surprised at how delicious these bagels were, despite being end of the day. Super plump, chewy dough. I got half bacon & herb and half scallion cream cheese. Very much considering making this my carb-reup place during long bike rides out of brooklyn. I dont even like bagels, so I am usually pretty critical. These were really wonderful. (ps: they have a 5 for $ 2 «morning after» bagel deal).

Bagels 101; It’s a bagel shop, they sell bagels. They put stuff on the bagels, you pay more for that. Some of the stuff is better than the other stuff. Choose carefully. I am old fashion I want to see Jewish people behind the counter in a bagel shop the same way I want to see Italian people behind the counter in a pizza shop. Don’t get me started on sushi. It’s a bagel shop, they sell bagels. They put stuff on the bagels, you pay more for that. Some of the stuff is better than the other stuff. Choose carefully.

Two years and dozens of visits after, this joint keeps serving great bagels. The everything bagel here is my favorite. In the past two years, the place improved, service kept being friendly and punctual. Thank you, Bagel World.

People were really talking this place up when I moved to fort Greene last week. But I thought it was just average. I got egg and cheese on whole wheat everything. It was more grainy than I’m accustomed to which is David’s bagel on 1st avenue. Also the coffee was way over sweetened I couldn’t drink it. Finally the guy at the cashier was pretty nice. I’ll give a few more tries. Look for an update in a few days/week

Wandered in on a Saturday afternoon, and they were pretty well stocked. Nothing I hate more than a bagel joint that makes every flavor imaginable at 6am, and runs out by noon without re-stocking. I ordered a «plain bagel with a lot of cream cheese», «pumpernickel bagel with a lot of butter», «everything bagel with cream cheese», and«onion bagel with butter». (…I see you judging me and my eating prowess…) The plain bagel was slightly crunchy on the outside, warm and mushy on the inside. Deliciously flavored cream cheese(which they give you copious amounts of). 4⁄5. Sadly, it’s the only bagel here worth purchasing. When I ordered the pumpernickel bagel, I asked for a lot of butter. Got home and opened the wrapped bagel up to find a ridiculously small amount of butter. Had to trek all the way back to the store to have them put more on. They seemed nice, and apologized, but it was certainly an inconvenience. The pumpernickel bagel itself tasted horrible. It was denser and harder than the other bagel, which I understand, due to the nature of pumpernickel, however it had an awful plastic/chemical aftertastes, which, even a ½ inch of butter couldn’t cover up. The everything bagel was *incredibly* salty, almost to the point of being inedible. If they laid off some salt, it wouldn’t be bad at all, but alas, that wasn’t the case. The onion bagel was mostly air. It flattened out to about half an inch tall after taking a bite of it. Had more of a consistency of a roll than a bagel, and it’s onion topping just tasted off. The people that worked here seemed nice enough, and their Dept of Health Inspection shows that they’re really clean, which I appreciate. I don’t know if I’d go back for other bagel flavors, being that 3 of the 4 I tried weren’t that good. But if you are looking for a solid plain bagel in the area, I would recommend. I much prefer La Bagel Delight on Lafayette for a solid array of bagels in the area.
