I’m a fan mainly because I absolutely LOVE my apartment that I found through this agency. I have worked with NYC brokers in the past, and his broker’s fee was among the lowest (still, if you can go the no fee route and be happy, I’d always advise that)! David, when I met him, was nice and approachable. He had a friendly conversation with me about life and the neighborhood, and didn’t look at me as just another commission check.
All Points didn’t get five stars from me because the broker I worked with, David, is absolutely HORRIBLE at communication AND the apartment that I am currently living in is still listed as available on his website (it’s been a month). When I first saw the listing, it was a Monday. I called during business hours, actually, around 10am because I remember exactly what I was doing when I called. No answer, so I left a voicemail. On Wednesday, he called me back to let me know it was still available and to schedule a time to see it. My guess is someone else was interested, and then backed out sometime shortly before he contacted me back. I went to see it on that Friday (which was on me due to my schedule), but David did not come. I don’t know about the other poster’s situation, but it was always the understanding that the super was going to show it to me, and David gave me clear instructions on how to contact the super when I got to the building. I fell in love with it, and luckily called David right before he was about to leave his office, and signed the lease the following Tuesday. OK so I guess a week timeline isn’t so bad.
I found the listing and photos online to be accurate and a real representation of the unit I rented. The agents seem honest and friendly. I gather that David is rarely in the office, and the only number listed is his office number, which is bad for business when your business hours would suggest that you’re there during the times the doors are open. But if you can catch him, you will be happy. But if you have a very tight timeline, don’t fall in love with anything on his website, because you may be disappointed when he never calls.
Oh, also, once I signed the lease and paid all the necessary money, David pretty much fell off the face of the earth. Seriously, I hope he isn’t dead. No response to emails, phone calls, nothing. So, don’t except some sort of professional relationship unless it somehow implies that you’re renting again or referring someone

All I can say is, I wish I could’ve worked with Carol James like these other people who posted.
Instead, because I was looking for a rental, I ended up with David Rivera. My boyfriend and I made an appointment with him to look at an apartment in Prospect Heights the night before. We called him the next day in the afternoon, just to confirm the appointment was still on and he told us definitely, yes, of course, all is well, and that he’d call if anything came up, but that we were still on for 6:30 p.m. that Friday. Well being the little poster child of punctuality, I was there with my boyfriend by 6:20. We called David to let him know we were waiting, and to let us know the exact address when he got a chance. I assumed he was underground on a train.
6:30 came, no sign of David, no calls. Yes I know, not everyone is as prompt as I am. However, it was a chilly January evening, so after 15 minutes of walking about the block, we took refuge in a little wine bar down the block. We called David, we left voicemails. We called the office, which was closed, and even looked up fellow agents at All Points, called the lovely Carol James and explained the situation to her. She was nice enough to give us an alternate cell # for David and urged us to text for a quicker response, but sadly she couldn’t do more than that since David was the only one who could show the apartment.
After an hour had passed, we resigned to giving up and going home. NEVER received ANY communication from this guy that night or the day after; no apology for standing us up at all. I had to double check the website to make sure this agency was legitimate because I’ve never had such a terrible experience. Stick with Carol James.

Diana Fuentes was my agent. she was not very reliable at all, although she gives the impression that she is a caring and trustworthy person.
Ask a lot of question, read the rental agreement. She would try to rush you as a «standard agreement», but the rental agreement favors the landlord (although you, the renter, are paying her commission). Addend the points you want to change, and do not trust her.
As soon as you step into the apartment, she asked me to sign a paper (with which she obligates you to rent the apartment through her). They charge 10% of the A WHOLE YEAR RENT «go figure». When you decide to rent the apartment, their boss will ask you to pay $ 500 down (in most cases this is non-​refundable money). They will ask your proof of work etc, and then you will let you sign the contract before the landlord does (The contract should be signed in the presence of the landlord).
