Solid place, will return in the future. Good staff, expedient service

It wouldn’t take much to make this place decent. The staff is friendly. The menu is great. BUT: the place is depressing dark and dirty. The food well 2 out of 3 were good. The burger was over done and tough. And no separate checks! I hadn’t been in several years and won’t be again. Spruce it up rip up the carpets add some paint and fix the front window.

There are very few places that consistently provide great service and delicious food at a great price. The staff is friendly and attentive and your glass never gets empty. Ground round is a go to for me. They have the best French onion soup I’ve ever had. There’s nothing on the menu that’s not amazingly delicious. I recommend the burgers or the chicken Penne Alla vodka.

Food is good, service is slow in the evening. The staff is friendly just seem to sit down or not be seen often. The menu is large and good sizes just not amazing. Bar is good and the drinks are good.

I went to the Ground Round on a date Friday. The food is always good and the staff is always on top of things. When I got there I noticed it was packed, Ground Round is a weekend hot spot, there was a line to get in. The lighting and atmosphere is definitely what your looking for if you want to go on a first date (just make sure your date is on time) anyway, I never had to wait for anything and the appetizers were out hot and fast to the table and the drinks kept on coming and we never had to ask for refills. The wings where ok but not enough sauce selections. I think they focus more on there burgers, which delivered by the way. The bar is great and there is a waitress there named Sara that is one of the reasons I will keep going there. I recommend a booth if your on a date, it’s more private, and be a gentleman and buy the roses. I really enjoyed Ground Round, wish I could say the same for my date.

We went to Ikea and I said what the hell Ground Round its far but lets see. We were seated right away and the waitress Sara was awesome. No joke she was the most polite waitress I have ever had serve us food. I ordered basic. Chicken Fingers and my wife ordered a Roast Beef sandwich. The food was super hot and came fast. the fries were super hot and fresh and my pretzel appetizer was there before I even finished deciding what to eat. Yes its not the Ground Round from the 1990’s. Hello people that was 25 years ago… but it was pretty darn good. If we didn’t live so far away we would go back 100%. Do know this is a privately owned and operated location also (not that it had any affect on anything). Definitetly recommended especially if you have the same waitress we had.

Unfortunately there is no option given to not even give a star. I sat down with my boyfriend on a Thursday night and ordered a drink. The waitress didnt even state her name. She then left the table to put in our driink order. I had noticed a giant mosquito flying around so my boyfriend tried to kill it. I had told the waitres we were not going to stay because of it and she yelled at me «Well it’s summer, get used to it» and walked away. Terrible service.

If everyone is expecting the Ground Rounds of the 90’s then you will be disappointed.
I LOVED the Ground Round on Sunrise Highway in Bohemia. They used to have a marinated rib-​eye special that was just terrific!
Anyway, this is a pretty decent place if you are looking for a fairly inexpensive night out with the family or a quick meal with some friends. We usually hit this place at least once a month and usually with another family or two on the way home from the kids baseball or football games.
IT IS A GREAT PLACE TO BRING KIDS! They have a great kids menu and have specials all of the time with free kids meals with adult meals. etc…
The service is always decent and the food is always good. As some others have stated it is not a gourmet dinner… but decent enough for what it is.

Felt like a good burger… did not find it here. Cold soggy fries and a well done hockey puck delivered to the table with two minutes of ordering. My guess they are per made and kept warm until needed.

Went inside nice open resturant. Plenty of waiters to help us out. Not a lot of people in the restaurant so we should get served quickly right? Nope all the staff were on their phone and sitting down ignoring us while the other people got their food. There was a waiter working but he ignored us help other people around us. We were at the table for 20 mins with no service. For the first time ever I got up and left the restaurant. Staff looked at us leave and never tried to make us stay. Worst service ever don’t go.

The famous Ground Round… or not.
OK, so when I was a kid, there was the Ground Round that I went to in Bayshore, NY. Free popcorn at the tables (and all over the floor), TV’s on the wall with kid’s programs or something, it was the norm for the 80’s-90’s.
This particular Ground Round was previously a night club (Chase Lounge?), so you can kind of picture where the dance floor area was… kind of a strange layout. That said, let’s get to the point.
Owner seems friendly enough whether genuine or not, waitress in bar area is extremely friendly and genuine, providing excellent service, almost seems to good for this place, overall not a bad atmosphere in the bar area.
The food… honestly, just expect bar food and you will be satisfied. The quality is acceptable most of the time, for bar food. I wouldn’t classify this place as a real restaurant, don’t go bringing a first date here, or you may regret that move. Baked potatoes are good, fries are good. The most comical food choice is the lunch special «Boars head Hot Dog». You only get one (1) hotdog with fries and pickle or something. Who eats 1 hotdog, who? Anyway, add a second hotdog and maybe you will start to move your hotdog inventory faster… for the price of 1 hotdog here, you can buy three at a local hotdog stand without having to tip a server. The food overall, just average.
Bathrooms are clean enough. The ice in the men’s urinals is kind of strange, but whatever. Who doesn’t like the pee on ice?
The big kicker. It’s winter. It’s cold outside. If you eat in the bar area, be prepared to freeze, or, be prepared to wear your snowsuit and wool hat. Stay away from the outside walls/​windows, as the are very POORLY insulated. The whole experience was bad because we were all cold no matter which table we chose. Even with that overhead heater on, it doesn’t matter. They seriously need to invest in floor heat and/​or new insulation. This is a problem that makes us not want to come there during the colder months.
You can play lotto there, so that’s a plus.

Decent place. Not the Ground Round I grew up with, but decent. A little on the expensive side but usually good deals available. We have catered from there and they did a great job. The place is not doing the business it used to. Too bad. Lots of potential and I hope they can survive there. I think the opening of AppleBee’s is really hurting them. Time will tell. It is starting to look a little run down and they need to make sure it stays looking as new as possible.

Who was to be our waitress to get in to the front door nothing more appetizing then a good dose of second hand smoke ! My first instinct was to turn around but it was late and we were hungry. we waited at the front desk for someone to seat us but they were to busy smoking. After someone decided we waited at the desk long enough we were seated. At this point other people were brought in asked if they wanted drinks ordered and we still waited. After a while someone finally saw us getting upset and and came over and asked if we wanted drinks. A few minutes later our waitress stinking of cigarette smoke yummy came by and was surprised someone was getting us drinks at this point so was I. We ordered wings asked for them hot besides the fact that they were not hot and they give you a cup of red hot as your spicy flavor they were so small it looked like they bought the rejects from a pigeon farm. Half of them were broken they were overlooked hard and had no hot sauce on them.
After the pathetic wings the dinner came out it sucked instead of taking the time to make it look good on the plate they should have used that time to learn how to cook .
My brother wanted to go to checkers I told him I did not want to eat crap. Well this place makes checkers look like a 5star resteraunt and I have seen the back of a few checkers they are dirty nasty and gross. I would like to say the best part of this place was leaving but I can not even go into what we say 2 men doing in the SUV that was parked next to us. Bottom line this place is a no class white trash redneck you know what that description gives this place to much credit. The owner of this place must have his pants custom made to house the size balls it takes to call this a family restaurant

Hands down the worst restaurant experience ever! The management there is incompetent and rude. I visited that restaurant a couple of times and one was worse than the other. They treat their customers like crap especially at the bar, where I have seen the manager/​owner yell at patrons for talking too loud. Seriously!!! Who yells at customers for talking! If he doesn’t want people talking over a beer then you should get rid of the bar and not worry about it. The food is average at BEST and the atmosphere is like your eating in a basement. Needless to say this is the last time I or anybody I know will ever go there and spend a dime in that place. If there was a negative rating i would have scored it –10!

The food was terrible! Old lettuce on the burger the potatoe skins tasted microwaved not some place I would recommend not even for bar food.

Large open air restaruant. Many specials and its is the way you remembered it from years ago. A definite try for sports events as tvs are plentiful

So I’ve been to this one a few times with my wife to take advantage of the buy one get one free burgers special. The restaurant is OK, it definitely does not compare to other Ground Rounds I’ve been too. The service is barely average but thankfully not offensive. The menu selections are on the whole quite basic, especially the appetizer menu. The burger selection is basic, but so far I’ve never had an issue with them. They have always been hot and Fresh and decently made. I’ve seen much better from restaurants I’ve dined at and I’ve also had far far worse. So for the buy one get one deal I will definitely be back but beyond that I would probably suggest looking elsewhere.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting and everything was clean. The staff was prompt and friendly. I was disappointed that there were only three draft beers to choose from and a limited selection of bottled beers. The Buffalo chicken wings were slightly overcooked, but the sauce was tasty, hot enough to stimulate the taste buds, but not so hot that you couldn’t enjoy them. I built my own burger by adding cheddar cheese, jalapeños and Buffalo wing sauce. The burger was moist and tender and everything was fresh. The French fries were soggy. They were running a special «happy hour» all day long, which made this an unbeatable bargain for lunch.
