My overall review of a few visits to this place. NOT authentic Mexican food. If you want authentic Mexican food go to the restaurant on Crosby Avenue. Top Tortilla is just a quick Chinese take out version. The service is fast but the food is meh. I called for a pick up and by the time I arrived the food was done. Black Bean Burrito meh… whole Lotta black beans, some guacamole but lacks sufficient lettuce, cheese and I found no tomatoes. Mozzarella sticks: Luke warm had to reheat when I got home. Apparently these are the same ones they use at the dive bar I hang out in Tribeca. Ok, but best with an alcoholic beverage or three. Fish Soft Shell tacos: why the hell are black beans in fish tacos? Who does this? NOONE! There are similar places where I eat fish tacos and there is never a bean in sight. Ewww… flicking beans out the taco. Pelham Bay has many food options doubt I will be rushing back to eat anything from Top Tortilla.

Eh… For a hole in the wall Chinese take out converted into Tex Mex, not that bad. A bit stingy with the salsa.

I order from here so the time. Always prompt service. The food is always on point. Portion size is really good too. Love their fajitas and my daughter loves their chicken strips.

Always fresh food. Delivery wait times are short. Customer service is quick and precise. They have never screwed up myorder in the 5 years that I have lived here. Ok ok. Just one time. I told them not to add black beans on my nachos, but they must have forgotten. Still not bad. I will always order from them. Their soft, fried fish tacos are so good. Simple, but the fish is always so crispy. Yum. Guacamole nachos are very good as well. My husband likes their steak and chicken nachos. Their salsa is so savory. I put it on everything I order from here. Sauteed shrimp and Mexican rice is also a winner from here. This is always my first choice when ordering out.

If you crave real authentic Mexican food… this tiny, and very unclean spot is NOT the place to go. I love Mexican food, but not the pseudo kind. It is run and prepared by Asians(not that it matters) but the food lacks flavor, ordered the steak nacho and several soft tacos and dissapointment doesn’t fully cover it. Everything including the meat was cold, Nacho chips were stale and it tasted like as if they put slices of American cheese into a chip bowl and into a microwave, let sit for 5 minutes and then cover half the plate with ice cold diced tomatoes. It was horrible!

This place is probably the best place to get Tex-Mex takeout in the Bronx. If you’re looking for authentic, you may want to look elsewhere, but if you’re somewhat of a Chipotle addict such as myself, this place is for you. Everything is made fresh(always order about an hour in advance), everything is relatively cheap, and the food is absolutely delicious.

I love their grilled chicken dinner platter with guacamole. The rice, beans and chicken are perfectly seasoned. The guacamole is very tasty and the lettuce and tomatoes are fresh.

This place is great! We tried them one night a while back when I wanted Mexican food but was too sick to go out. They’re now our go-to for when we want Mexican but don’t feel like driving to Chipotle. First things first– don’t order from here if your preference is authentic Mexican. You may find yourself not only underwhelmed, but flat out insulted. But if you’re a blasphemer like me and actually like Tex-Mex much more than the authentic stuff, you’ll be very happy. All of their ingredients are super fresh; they even make their own tortillas. However, keep this in mind when you order! Don’t do what I’ve done and order when you’re starving. You’ll be ravenous by the time that the food arrives, scarf down a giant burrito in an ungodly amount of time, and be disgusted with yourself afterwards. Instead, order an hour before the time that you’d like to eat. The fact that they make everything fresh to me is worth the wait. Now, onto the food! Honestly, everything that I’ve had from here has been awesome. And just as importantly, awesomely priced. They have a nice assortment of Tacos to choose from at around $ 2 — $ 4 each. I’ve had the guacamole taco and it’s now one of my favourite menu items next to their chicken burrito. And it’s so simple! Guacamole, cheese, and tomatoes in a flour tortilla. Burritos are also nicely priced, and they’re all around $ 6 or $ 7. The ingredients used in it are of great quality(especially their black beans!) but the meat is a little dry. Despite that though, they’re still awesome and definitely the item that I order the most from there. And their nachos are something else… they may not be the prettiest to look at, but I’m drooling just thinking about them. So that about covers it! They’re a cheap, awesome little Tex-Mex place that delivers– what more can I ask for?

This place is OK, but I’d prefer a Chipotle in this location instead. Once you get past the novelty factor of mexican food made by chinese in typical chinese take-out style, you realize the food is bland and the salsa and guacamole are underwhelming.

Worthless. I tried the vaunted steak burrito, and its sole flavor was salt. A total flatline. One extra star for nothing bad/disgusting…just an utter lack of quality.

An under rated hole in the wall with great fresh food. Their chicken is seasoned and grilled to perfection. The wait is bit longer than say fastfood but it is well worth it.

So yummy ! Huge portions and many vegetarian options. This little hole in the wall place is sure to surprise you, I never been disappointed. The prices could be a little bit better but considering the portion sizes it’s not bad. Besides that top tortilla is awesome !

I LOVE this place. Their food is ALWAYS fresh. I have ordered from here many many times and have never had a problem. They are quick with deliveries and pretty friendly. They have never made a mistake on my order(yet) lol. I love their soft fried fish tacos, nachos, guacamole, enchiladas, taco salads, well pretty much everything from here. Their salsa is amazing and I put it on everything I order from here.

I love this place! It’s so cute… I know it’s a hole in the wall but the food is really fresh and the service is nice. One of the more convenient dining options in the area, I’d say. The décor is nice too, the place is clean and well lit for a hole in the wall taco joint. And I also discovered that they have maduros. Oh joy! No more pilgrimages for my platano craving! Oh yeah, check out that sign on the wall. Chyeaahhh. –1 star for not wrapping the burrito properly, though. It was more like a taco on steroids.

I would hate to sound like a fascist ignoramus, but I’ve noticed that race does not always correlate with authentic food. For example, when I walk into a Japanese restaurant and see a non Japanese sushi chef I give a double-take and scrutinize it’s authenticity. Enter Top Tortillas… Chinese people making Tex-Mex. And it’s good. This place is a small hole in the wall(not much of a dining in experience, more for take out), but the friendly folks make the food fresh. It does take a little time to wait but I love their steak burritos. They are very filling. My gluttonous brother gets filled on two. IFHTP3+
