We wanted to get a burger and a beer. The Bronx burger house was packed as it was Mothers Day. Kelly Ryans was just up the street and virtually empty. Being that Mothers Day is the busiest restaurant afternoon of the year, this should have been a sign. Nothing special about the menu and the service was poor. If you are not a regular, you have to wait longer. Both my wife and I got food poisoning from something we had. Probably the beef patty. Don’t go unless you enjoy diarrhea and vomiting.

Great food! They have something for everybody. I had the half barbecue chicken with macaroni and cheese and broccoli. They weren’t too crowded so it was easy to order and sit down. Food came out fast and it was fresh. All around a great barbecue joint in a great location.

This place is great. The food is awesome, the staff is incredible. The Thai wings and Garlic wings are out of this world. I have never been disappointed.

I have been going to Kelly Ryan’s for a few years for lunch and their food is always great. I love the Kelly Ryan burger and the ambiance as a local place to grab a quick bite and a beer.

Summary: disappointing, textbook sloppy. Cons: everything, read below for detail… Pros: server was friendly How this place has 4 stars is beyond me. Sequence of events: We ordered 1 appetizer(buffalo wings), 2 main dishes, one of them with sweet potato fries and side of mayo. We get: 1 main entrée with regular fries, no mayo, followed by the«buffalo» wings that were either honey BBQ or some other odd concoction, followed by 2nd main dish(not exaggerating) 10 – 15 later. Apparently chef thought first entrée was an appetizer(it was neither on the appetizer menu nor have I ever come across an appetizer that’s served with fries). Really guys? Not coming back.

Food is ok. Good sized room for parties. Problem is the noise. Living around the corner, it gets unbearable with people standing outside shouting at all hours of the night, on any day of the week. There are no signs reminding people to «respect the neighbours» like I’ve seen in other pubs. Rang the bar a few times asking them to quiet people down and stop them from setting off fireworks(!) out front and workers answering phone didn’t seem to care. This alone will keep me from supporting them & discourage friends from having functions there.

This is more of a bar than a restaurant. If you are looking for great atmosphere or a sophisticated restaurant experience, this is not the place for you. On the other hand, if you want very good American and Irish Pub food, you’ll leave happy. We made our first visit recently because a coupon was offered on a popular online site. It’s difficult to find good restaurants in the Bronx, so we were happy to give it a try. Customers enter through the bar, which is busy and loud. Like many Irish Pub-style restaurants, it’s part of the experience. The menu is fairly large and prices are moderate. Our party had a steak, a steak sandwich and a burger. All three were exceptional in quality. You can do worse with a steak in places that specialize in steaks. The steak sandwich was large and delicious. The burger was as good as a hamburger gets with a great patty and bun. The fries were hand cut and perfect. Service was pleasant, if not exceptional. We will visit this place again.

Great neighborhood spot for beers, burgers, and atmosphere. I’ve had their salads and brunch too, the French toast is highly recommended! They also have special events like magic shows, karaōke, live bands, etc. A Riverdale gem for locals and visitors alike.

update on Super Bowl Sunday; the bill was $ 80(check the books). Paid half in cash and half on a card… first tip was paid $ 3 in cash and $ 5 on card($ 3+$ 5=$ 8 tip), maybe the waitress and establishment prefer cash or wanted us to pay by the hour to sit in the booth(should been included in the bill then). Maybe bartender didn’t mean to come off as rude/harassing, but standing over somebody’s shoulder asking them to tip more isn’t polite nor professional. After the confrontation by the bartender, we took the $ 8 back and left a $ 20 tip. Horrible ending experience. Note to establishment: If you want better reviews, don’t treat customers like that.

Food is great — especially the wings and burgers. Beer is always cold and never flat. A great selection too. Bartenders are all really friendly. One young red-haired gentleman was so quick with a joke and to light up a smoke it was almost hard to believe. God bless that man!

I was so glad to find this place nearby when I moved to Riverdale! It is a regular Irish pub… well, maybe not totally«regular» as it’s roomy and clean! :) We come here regularly when we’re in the mood for a burger and fries… also, you wouldn’t think it, but they have DELICIOUS French Onion Soup! OMG. The garden salad isn’t unique(standard iceberg, tomatoes, carrots, croutons, green peppers etc.) but it’s quite large and can serve as your entrée. The wings are delicious as are the mozzarella sticks. Good, reliable bar food! I’ve only ever seen two guys working the bar and they are both friendly.

This is the local pub from where I live and it is a great place for a nice pint or a great dinner. The food really is spectacular for pub grub. I’ve had the ribs, potatoe wedges, mozzarella sticks, and the irish breakfast and have no complaints on any of it. The ribs in particular are very well done nice and tender. The bartenders are all very awesome and super nice and always make you feel welcome. Great place on the weekends too to party at.

A great Irish Pub indeed. Despite not being Irish, I am a regular ;). Great place to watch any game or play darts. The bartenders are awesome and the food is good. Especially the burgers. The atmosphere is great just to catch up with some friends and grab a beer.

A great old irish pub. The food is good(surprisingly so) and inexpensive. The bartenders are great and the place has a ton of regulars. The kitchen opens late(5pm) but stays open late(11 or so). They have the best wings in Riverdale(and I’ve tried wings from nearly all the local joints).
