Had a 70th bday party for my mother. Service was OUTSTANDING… Food was DELISH… Huge success… Highly recommend…

We hosted an event here and overall, good experience. Yummy food, and friendly, attentive staff. Only downfall I’d say is that we had the space starting at 12pm and staff literally showed up about 5 minutes or so to open up the restaurant doors. That was worrisome for us as we were hosting approximately 40 people and wanted to make sure all was set. Moving forward, they should be open at least 30 minutes beforehand. Also, if you are looking for more of a private space for an event, this may not be the place for you. Our event was hosted in the same space as the rest of the restaurant even though everything ended up working out fine. Otherwise, the restaurant did the best they could to accommodate us and ensure that all was set for a successful event.

I had dinner at Fratelli’s with a good friend this past Saturday night. Heard so much about it and was excited to go finally. Good service; bread and salad brought out immediately. Friendly staff. Appetizers we had Shrimp Cocktail and Stuffed Artichoke — delicious. Good Martinis too. Then comes dinner — quite a bit later — Shrimp Parmigiano & and an Eggplant/Fettucine dish. Cold. It just really confused me. It took so long and with one bite it appeared it had been sitting out. That was such a disappointment. Then I asked the waiter to bring me a glass of very dry, tanic red — said I’d leave the choice up to the bartender. If I wanted Yellow Tail… Let’s just leave it at that. I returned the wine and took home the leftovers. The food was very good when I as able to heat it up at home. It’s obvious they have repeat customers for generations and I love that they have loyal patrons, but they have to be careful of new customers coming in — you never know who’s reviewing your restaurant — and who they are — regardless of how long you have been in business. There are a few other Italian restaurants in the area that I am looking forward to experiencing. Would like to recommend this neighborhood for a great Italian food experience — not just Arthur Ave.

I have been coming to this restaurant for many years and traveling from Long Island to the Bronx for my fix of Fratelli’s delicious food. The staff is very friendly and the portions are huge. My husband and I always get one of the combination platters that comes with roasted peppers, mozzarella and tomatos, as well as garlic bread, salad and pasta. You never walk out of Fratelli’s hungry. One of my favorite restaurants.

Amazing dinner!!! I’ve heard they declined in passed years, but clearly they are back and at the top of their game. They started us with salad and capinata. Both so delicious. The salad dressing was amazing we had them bring us another. I got the chicken cacciatore and I don’t think I’ve ever had it more tender or delicious. And they even had gluten free pasta to boot. All around, an amazing meal and experience, can’t wait to go back.

Fratelli continues to dish out what has made it one of the best Italian restaurants in the Bronx. This place is everything you want out an Italian restaurant; small, close-knit staff, and solid food. The menu is mostly no frills with some twists highlighted in their specials. Each meal starts with a mixed salad and bread with an eggplant ‘chutney’, seasoned oil, and butter. I went with one of their specials for my app: grilled calamari and shrimp over a kale salad. Pretty solid overall — the seafood was seasoned well and the kale was fresh. For my main I had the chicken scarpariello which was served with sausage and hot peppers. Each entrée has a choice of mixed veggies, potato croquette, or pasta as a side(I chose pasta). For dessert I had ricotta cheesecake. Fratelli always serves good food; two aspects of the restaurant that leave me wanting more however are the décor and plate presentation. All of the décor is original to when the restaurant opened in the early/mid 90s, so it’s tried looking. Additionally, I don’t feel plate presentation is Fratelli’s strength — we eat with our eyes first and sometimes you have to get over how it looks before realizing how tasty the food is. All in all though, Fratelli is a good choice for real-deal Italian food in the Bronx beyond Arthur Ave.

Came here on a Sunday night with my husband for dinner, and while we had high hopes it was somewhat disappointing. Service was good, we were given bread and salad almost immediately and the eggplant in olive oil was absolutely a favorite of mine. The salad was well dressed. I ordered one of their specials for the night which was the ravioli alla bandiera, which consisted of 6 pieces of ravioli covered in pesto, alfredo, and marinara sauces in the style of the Italian flag. It was a really cool concept but the dish honestly could’ve been better. The alfredo sauce in particular was separating a bit. The corner edge of my plate was also a little dusty which I didn’t discover until I’d already begun eating. Luckily it was far enough away from my food that I wasn’t too bothered to continue eating. It was still disappointing though. My husband was also pretty underwhelmed by his dish, penne and broccoli. Overall, the experience was just okay. It was a slow night and the dishes could’ve been much better prepared.

I have been to Fratelli’s for many years. I have to say that the entire staff is beyond welcoming and friendly. They make you feel like you are apart of the family. Amazing and beautiful people! The food is absolutely amazing! We have tried different places and there is nothing like their Italian food. 5 stars for me!

The only reason I’m giving this a 4 star review is because I didn’t have dessert. It was my first time here(won’t be the last) The service is fantastic. The waiters were attentive, friendly and offered suggestions if you couldn’t make up your mind. The ambiance is great. A little loud, but it’s like going to Sunday dinner at your Grandma’s house. Everyone is there enjoying themselves in a cozy place. The food is fantastic. The server brings out a house salad and a bread basket complete with olive oil to dip and eggplant caponata(I would’ve been happy just eating that all night) before your appetizers and main entrée. I ordered the filet of sole with crabmeat stuffing. Fish was perfectly cooked, the crabmeat stuffing was flavorful and the sauce was very good. The potato croquettes were ok, I would eat them again if they were put in front of me, but I would opt for the pasta next time. My mom ordered the lasagna and I stole a bite of it. It’s how I’ve grown up eating lasagna. It was delish. My fiancé had sesame crusted salmon which was pretty tasty as well. We were a party of 6 and let me tell you when the bill came I was shocked at how low it was. Drinks(alcoholic), appetizers and main entrees the bill was under $ 200.00. Quality food and service, homey atmosphere and reasonable prices are what to expect. Def. worth it to make the trip into the Bronx.

Was there with a party of 10 last night. The food was awesome, our wait staff was attentive, and it had the feel of the old Italian restaurants I’m used to from my days in the Bronx. You have a repeat customer. Thank you for such a great night.

The food here is beyond amazing. Always fresh and always cooked to perfection. The staff treat you like family. Large selection of desserts and coffee, expressos etc. definitely a place to visit if you ever find yourself in the Bronx with an appetite that can only be satisfied by some excellent Italian cooking. Reasonable priced. Lovely ambiance.

5÷20÷15 — The bread and dipping oil were fantastic. The pasta with sausage and mushrooms was tasty. The service was super super SLOW !! It wasn’t even a busy night, maybe 4 — 5 tables had people, so I’m not sure why servers couldn’t keep up. Food deserves 4 Stars. Service 2 Stars = my 3 Star Unilocal rating.

Wonderful food and service. I ordered chicken parm, chicken marsala, and zuppa DE pesce. It was all very good. I especially liked the diversity and among of delicious she’ll fish such as lobster, crab, mussels, clams, squid and octopus. Also tried potato croquettes which were a hit as well. I recommend this place.

While exploring the area for a new restaurant, I happened to come across this one. Fratteli’s ! Don’t know if I spelled it right but I am 100% sure I will revisit and recommend this place! My father, my son and I went there for lunch. We had the sole fish special, and OMG! That seriously had to have been the best meal and service I’ve had in a long time. Now I can’t say it wasn’t a bit pricy, but I can truly say it was worth every penny!

Not impressed. I heard a lot about this place over the years and I finally tried it and it wasn’t anything special. I had soup that didn’t have much taste and salmon that was ok. The service wasn’t that great either.

I’ve been coming to Fratelli’s for everything from my communion to graduations to family birthdays since it opened in the 90s. Used to live around the corner from them, where their chicken parm heroes and house salad to go was the most anticipated dinner of the week(sorry Mom). Italian food in the Bronx can be a bit monotonous, with sauces that taste the same, or the usual schtick that becomes almost taboo after awhile, where we fall into the motions of eating clams oreganata, something parmigana, and splitting tartufos. Fratelli’s is great because it is not the typical fare. They start you off with homemade proscuitto bread or onion foccacia, it varies, with the best eggplant caponata dip I’ve had. It’s something like that dip that separates them in my eyes. Not to mention the always perfect house salad that comes out next. Their marsala is deep and dark, loaded with mushrooms and demi-glacé, unlike any other marsala you’ve had, I promise. Their parmigana is amongst the best, again different from anyone I’ve had, in an unmistakably Fratelli way. I can’t speak enough praise about the place, from Anthony and the staff, down to the chocolate ravioli(top 5 desert ever) it’s a great place to have an Italian meal worthy of going out for.

This place was recommended by a family friend so we ventured off to see if it lived up to it’s reputation. Naturally we over ordered! Our meal came with a few appetizers but we had salad, garlic bread, baked clams(too soggy), hot peppers and mushrooms, and mozzarella and tomato. We shared the zuppa di pesce with linguine. We were in heaven minus the clams. The breads they had were sooooo yummy(carb overload) and there were plenty of everything in the zuppa di pesce. Can’t wait to go back and basically have the same meal!
