Bella Notte Pizzeria

Good food, but the male owner moves around a lot, bumps into you without an apology, and rarely smiles or acknowledges you.
The female owner always has a deer in headlights look, she is also rarely pleasant and hardly acknowledges the customer.
My pet peeve is that they use the one table as a desk and never let customers use it, even when that is the only table.
From different parents, we have heard that they are not family friendly, but have yet to sit down there to notice.
As I said, the food is good and the menu is unique, but because of the owners, it is not worth the hassle.

Great pizza! So far, the best in Riverdale. Great salads. Nice people. Eat in or take out once or twice a week. Never been disappointed.

The salad are nice and fresh. But the reason it gets one star they are so many extra charges. $ 1.50 to chopp a salad that I am already paying $ 13 and change for. NEver saw this before. The owner more worried about how to fold his napkins by watching a video in his restaurant than what his customer are saying. Crazy won’t order again from them out of principal now. Sorry to owner thought he was a nice guy when he was talking to me about his Sicilian how he spent along time to get it to the perfect texture. I used to order twice a week and dine in once week. Maybe he should found a video on customer service instead of how to fold a napkin.

Pizza was pretty good and I enjoyed the baked ziti. Friendly service also. I would definitely eat there again.

Made an order of 4 meals from NYP Allen Hospital, where you’d assume our business is appreciated, given our role in the community and frequency of orders. Bag of 2 salads came with dressing container opened in bag, paper bag soaking wet, bread soggy with dressing, and no dressing FOR the salads. Called and placed on hold forever, explained, and was met with «well what are we supposed to do about it? What do you want us to do now?!» Spend your money where you are appreciated! Never again.

Very good food here. The pizza is good pizza, they have a good variety of ready made slices. There pasta is pretty good also, I had the linguini and clam sauce, and was not disappointed. The other good thing is, its a BYOB spot. The prices are on the higher side, but the food makes up for it. The place is small, so it wont fit big parties, but a great spot for 4 – 6 people.

We are seriously hooked on this place!!! It’s awesome. I’ve been here about 10 times in the past months and I haven’t had a complaint yet.
Great food: I recommend the penne alla vodka, the «grandma» pizza (it’s literally to die for!!!), their garlic bread and margherita pie is also pretty good.
Great Service: I’ve been served by the young lady with the blonde hair and the young gentlemen. They seem college-​aged but both very polite and super attentive. One of the owners is always there also serving and he’s super nice.
Great atmosphere: I’ve gone with families around and while it’s empty as well but it doesn’t seem to bother me at all. It’s super casual and a nice place to just chill.
Tip: maybe change the music or have the TV on for entertainment when it’s quite.

They were impressive for the first couple of months. But the staff is truly stupid, the owner’s hovering presence is annoying, the sauce gets worse each time, and the food’s very hit or miss, mostly miss.
If you want to substitute another pasta for the one on the menu it takes a ten minute conference to figure out a price that ends up being unreasonably high.
Then there’s the time there were no specials «because the special board broke.» I guess writing them down on a piece of paper and then telling the customer is not an option.
Like too many places in Riverdale they need to go away.

Great food and taste, recommended it. Price is reasonable. Great atmosphere. Staff is well attentive.

We just moved to Riverdale NY we were looking for some good Italian my and my wife so we decided to order from Bella Notte in Riverdale NY.
Pizza — It was good but definitely had much much better.
Spaghetti & Meatballs — Pasta was dry hardly no sauce just «boiled spaghetti» with a tablespoon of sauce. (Meatballs would have been nice with my order since that’s what I ordered.
I can’t not review space or customer service because I have not dinned in the establishment.

Love this place! I just moved to the Riverdale area a few months & came across this little gem! Food is delicious & the customer service is good. I must say, I come here often for dinner. No complaints thus far.
I will definitely recommend this place to others!

I ordered lasagna to go. It was delicious, fairly priced, and the staff was courteous and professional. I will return!

Food was delicious!!! So good! The delivery though, not so great. It took about 40 minutes to arrive, but since it was freezing that day– I’m taking 6*, it’s acceptable.

After hearing about this restaurant repeatedly from a friend (who had several restaurants in Manhattan), I finally made it in with a party of four.
Service was attentive and Ben, one of the owners, was very friendly. We discussed food, the town, and his upcoming new venture.
Our dinners were great. Fried zucchini for the table. Then everyone branched off with their own choices. I had the salmon with spinach and a side order of curly pasta with garlic and oil.
Finished it off with a cannoli!
My peeps from Connecticut said they wanted to come back when they visited next!

Amazing Margherita Pizza! Hands down one of the best! I love their chicken rolls and meatball heroes! Really great quality food. Delivery is quick and the online app is awesome! My new favorite Italian restaurant in RIverdale!

Yum! Came within 30 minutes hot! Delicious and amazing pizza pie with exceptional tomato sauce and the best cheese around. Tastes like pizza you find in Little Italy and Arthur Ave. Garlic knots are out of this world!

Eh, decent. Nothing to go back for. The Sicilian was really good, but the white slice tasted like nothing. Good if you’re hungry and short on time.

This is really the best pizza place in the Bronx or Westchester. But that’s not what draws me… because there are many outstanding pizza joints — the others don’t have fabulous carrot ginger soup… they don’t have incredible vegan chickpea/​spinach soup (you can also have it with chicken) — their platters are to die for… try the lasagna, the eggplant parmagiana and their salmon over spinach is to cry for! We love the chicken scarpariello and the seafood fra diavolo… prices are gentle and Ben the owner and his lovely partner have a great jazz playlist… among other music choices possible. Their lunch specials are really great… soup and a wonderful caesar or mixed salad? Chicken/​peppers/​onions/​mozzarella wrap and fries? And the salads are so fresh. We make the trip from White Plains which is not lacking great restaurants. Try it and you’ll see.

It’s been 8 months now and things really got rolling with Me, my wife and twins. We began to depend a little more on Big Ben and Renatta for quick lunches and dinner recommendations. I can’t thank them enough for the assist. Just like any business, they try hard to keep they’re customers happy. Sometimes it’s out of their hands and they can’t satisfy everyone. I just want people to know and understand that no one is perfect, what counts is that this place really cares and wants to make it right every time.
Thank you guys. We just had another great dinner. My twins and wifr are still licking they’re fingers lol.

September 2^nd. They deliver only half the order, completely forgetting about the salad. Takes an hour to bring the salad, which defined lack of effort with quartered tomatoes and the browning cabbage.
September 12^th. We waited an hour for delivery. Then we called. They told us the Driver was on his way. Half hour later, we called back. We speak to the manager, letting her know we’ve been waiting an hour and half for a delivery of pasta primavera with grilled chicken. We are two blocks from the restaurant. It doesn’t take a half hour to walk two blocks. The manager advised us, they never cooked the food or placed the order.
September 14^th. Just kidding. We would never make the mistake of ordering from them, ever again.

Love this little pizza and pasta place!
I am not a pizza fan — my bf has to beg me to get me eating pizza with him — but I’d propose to go to this place.
The restaurant is tiny, but their food flavor are great. We’ve been eating here many times and the cook is consistent.
Meat lasagna can’t go wrong.
Pasta with pulled beef is STUNNING! Puts a big smile on a non– pasta person.
Dessert — they have S&S cheesecake! The best in riverdale!
Do we need more reason to go?

I ordered from this place because I had a coupon and it was the worst mistake I could have made. The cheese on the pizza was so disgusting that it tainted the pizza dough with its flavor and I had asked for light cheese but it was insanely thick I got another coupon in the mail again but this time I was smart I threw it away right away

Stopped by here on the way home from the city. Amazing pizza, great service. Really cool vibe, awesome old school artwork. Looking forward to returning next time I’m in the area!

Amazing food!!! This is so much more than a pizzeria. Comfortable atmosphere, incredible food and friendly staff make for a great experience.
Good for couples, families and groups!!! Great for events too!!!

I don’t typically write reviews, however, I felt compelled to write something given a few of the terrible reviews written about Bella Notte. Like many of the other reviewers, my 6 year old daughter, husband and myself frequent the restaurant about 1 – 2 times a week and usually have a delivery about once a week. Never, have we ever felt or have been made to feel like the restaurant was not kid friendly. On the contrary, we have seen many families there with children jumping on the banquets and running back and forth, without so much as a sigh or grimace from the staff. Furthermore, the food, has rarely been disappointing. We have tried almost everything on the menu and everything has been delicious and absolutely fresh! We have never had issues with delivery and our meals usually come faster by delivery than when we are at the restaurant. There was one time, when the delivery person could not find a parking spot and asked if we could come down to pick up the food (he was afraid that he would get a parking ticket), we understood and gladly met him in the front of our building.
In sum, the restaurant that was sitting on the corner previously (The old Mr. Nick’s) was cold and lacked any ambiance and their food was hit or miss. Being that there are an extremely limited amount of places to eat out at in Riverdale, my family is ecstatic that Bella Notte has created a warm, inviting and very charming ambiance in their restaurant. Their food is top-​notch and they seem to always be looking to improve in all areas. And to the reviewers that do not think this is a family friendly restaurant, if I am correct, I believe the owner has his own children working as part of the staff… how much more family oriented can you get than that???
Don’t let bad reviews sway you from trying this great restaurant! We LOVE Bella Notte as part of the neighborhood and always look forward to having great meals there with family and friends!

So I had to update this from 5 stars to 1 star because I am absolutely sick of this place’s poor customer service. We order from this place weekly, at least; sometimes several times in one week. They know our names! However, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. we order they go into a 10-​minute diatribe about how and why delivery isn’t possible that day, why it will be delayed and why they don’t want to come to our building because its «so hard» to find parking.
Are you kidding me?
Newsflash: This is New York friggin’ City, people.
We eat out. A lot. Not one other place gives us this ridiculous story to discourage me from spending money. We’re DONE with this place. Its a shame because we do still like the food but I cannot continue to stand for this unprofessional whining. Ugh!

Love the food here. Great customer service. Very attentive. The food took some time but it was definitely worth the wait. I ordered penne a la vodka with shrimps and my companion got ravioli and some clams too. Wonderful spot for some lunch and or a pizza stop.

This place is a local restaurant we never tried until yesterday. I truly regret not trying them sooner! The food was delicious. The packaging (we ordered take out), was impeccable AND the food was still hot.
I ordered again today.
We had the penne a la vodka, the sauce was so creamy and tasty (yumminess) and chicken parmigiana hero (great).
