Lots of titles to choose from. Beer and wine sold on premises and full bar Friday through Sunday. Tuesday night is $ 5 movie night, which is a great deal for families who want to take the kids out for a movie. That’s the good stuff. But what’s the deal with the showtimes? If a movie starts at 7:15, then I show up at 7 to get a good seat, get some popcorn and get settled in. But a full TWENTY minutes after the advertised«show time,» you’re still being subjected to a barrage of advertisements from the likes of Geico, Safelight Auto Glass, and finally SEVERAL movie trailers advertising upcoming films, current films, and films that are now being sold on DVD. This policy totally disrespects the customers’ time. I would have given this theater five stars if it weren’t for the ridiculous amount of pre-show advertising.

Visit to the theater over the holiday weekend. I love the location — easy in and out and always easy to find parking. Typical prices at this theater — as pricey as the other theaters. I am not fond of the concession stand here. I prefer the self-serve — including being able to put my own butter/salt on my popcorn. I ordered 1 small pop, small popcorn with butter and a soft pretzel =$ 15.75 total. The soft pretzels that were in the display at the concession stand must be for show maybe? After I ordered a soft pretzel a theater worker disappeared in the back to get my soft pretzel(I had to wait a few minutes too). This movie theater has a little bar too which was cool to get a cocktail to enjoy during the movie. I went with my party to the appropriate theater and sat down and got adjusted with my $ 15.75 worth of snacks. I happened to notice since the lights that the few seats next to me were absolutely filthy. They had a brown coating to them. The theater was small but the movie started on time. I like the proximity of the restrooms in the theater. quick trip during a movie. The soft pretzel was ok but the popcorn tasted stale and wasn’t very good. Next time — no concession stand snacks and will eat beforehand.

I’ve been to this theater once and I’ll never, ever go back. It is so very unclean. When sitting there before the movie started, I saw a mouse run across the floor. I first thought to myself, I must be seeing things, but then I saw one run across the screen. When I said something out loud, others said ya, I saw it as well. That’s disgusting. I did not have food or dink, so I can’t comment on pricing. Honestly, I just wanted to get the hell outta there!!!

I like this theater, always have since it was a Destinta. It’s tucked away enough that it’s never jam-packed with movie goers; usually when my friends and I finally make time to see a movie we’re the only ones in this theater, and we enjoy this immensely. Sure, as others have pointed out, a movie ticket and food will cost you a pretty penny here, but I’d like to point out that the cost problem is a universal problem, not one you find at a specific theater. The truth is that now that our local dollar theater is gone there are no «cheap» movie theaters, just less expensive ones. With that in mind, I think my only major complaint about this theater is a common one that I have with many movie theaters: the people running the movie feel a strange compulsion to turn the volume in your movie up entirely too high, and I’ve found myself sitting with my fingers in my ears for several minutes on more than one occasion. That said, the volume problem again pales in comparison to the problem the Waterfront theater has; there, I sit with my fingers in my ears(or even with earplugs stuffed in them) for the entire movie. All in all, not a perfect theater, but miles ahead of some of its competitors, and far closer to me than many other spots in this city. I can’t comment on the state of its snack bar seeing as, to save money, I never purchase snacks in any movie theater, but hey, they do have one, so I’m sure other reviewers can comment on it.

Chartier’s Valley is my favorite theater to go to for the fact that there are never many people there, but other than that, this theater is outdated and has an overall unclean appearance. The service is decent and the theater has a nice arcade area. The screen is small compared to other theaters and the seating can be uncomfortable depending on where you sit. Once again, I will continue to go here to escape rowdy crowds at more popular theaters, but this theater needs a change in appearance for sure!
