This store is in New Jersey. NJ does NOT tax clothes. This Marshall’s charged tax on slippers. When I brought it to the attention of the manager, she told me they were a taxed item. I then looked it up online and stopped at the shoe store next door to confirm that slippers are not taxed in NJ. I returned to the store and told the manager this info Her response was: «That’s what’s in the computer». I returned the slippers and told it was wrong to tax clothes in NJ, and that she should check the computer. She was ripping-off customers. She ignored me. I won’t shop there again.

Glad I did not make a trip just to go here. I have been to several Marshalls over the years and this one was the biggest disappointment. Very small and cluttered. Decent amount of clothes for the size store it is, but hardly had anything else. Forget about things for the home. I will not be going back.

Not a bad store ever considering this Marshall’s is getting renovated! It’s small and does look dumpy. But since the renovation it’s going to look like the toms river Marshall’s.

I have frequented this Marshalls many times lately, and every time that I go to try something on, I am «greeted» by the same grumpy old hag. For the reference, I worked in retail for several years, doing above and beyond what this woman does, and always managed to keep my attitude above and beyond her unwelcoming spirit. Each time she hands me a garment number card, I reply with a gracious«Thank you!» only to receive a grunted«Mhm»(if she replies anything at all) as if this woman has done me a tremendous favor that seriously is holding her up. Also, when I came into the fitting room, needing assistance in her counting my garments and handing me the card, it seemed that a conversation with a coworker was much more important than a paying customer. I do not expect the world from workers of a discount department store, knowing that those stores can constantly have a frustrating, never-ending mess, but I do expect service that is kind and welcoming, even at its bare minimum.

This must be the smallest, least-stocked Marshalls I’ve ever visited. The selection here is so slim, that it’s usually not worth going back. It seems like most of the shelves are not re-stocked often. I’ve been to many Marshalls before, and this was the only one where I experienced this.
