Nothing fancy, your run-of-the-mill Holiday Inn Express. The desk clerk was very friendly when we arrived. The staff made sure the morning breakfast was well stocked with fresh breads and fruits and even helped guests make their own pancakes. We stayed for just one night and enjoyed a clean room and clean hotel.

The room was clean. Just smelled funky and closed up. The hotel was hosting a large family reunion while we were there. Since when had it been cool to play loud music from your car and crowd around in a hotel parking lot? Looked like the«hood» Not appropriate for a family /business hotel … Just sayin !

I’ve stayed at a lot of HI Express facilities. This is on the lower end. The facility is ok, but they must be in economy mode. The temp outside is 104 and the air in my room is off — on the west side of the hotel in the Texas sun. The air in the lobby is either off or the temp is set very high. We are just sitting, doing nothing but waiting on some friends and sweat is beading up. Fountain not running. Just nothing that feels comfortable or says, «Welcome.» Aside from that, I really dislike hotels with no electrical plugs available except the bathroom. That was okay back in the 70’s — but not today. Overall, disappointing for a Holiday Inn Express.

Bill and I decided to see Brenham and we are avid fans of Holiday Inn Express. The hotel is a bit tricky to enter from 290 if you haven’t been there before. The entrance is hard to see and when you do see it and are not in the far right lane, you will miss it and have to go around again. We are Priority Club members and were promptly waited on when we arrived and they had everything ready for us. The room was clean and fresh. Typical of the chain. It seemed to be an older property but well kept. The bed was very comfortable and had the signature assorted pillows on the bed with different firmness. It was quiet and sleep was good. Until 4:45 am and I was woken up by water dripping loudly on the ground. I thought at first it was raining hard outside but thought about it and knew there was no rain in the forecast at all. I got up and went to see where the noise was coming from and found the bathroom sink was overflowing with water onto the tiled floor with water coming up from the drain. I looked in the shower and toilet and they were both fine. It flooded the bathroom and I put down all of the towels to help soak it up. I got dressed and went to the front desk and was given their apology and she also gave me a half dozen towels to take back. She also said several other rooms had the same issue. I was a little upset they didn’t offer us a new room and at 5am I didn’t really want to gather up our things and move. The shower and commode were in working order but we couldn’t use the sink. Plus you had to stand on soaking wet towels. I was just handed a bunch of towels, good luck and was told I could use the lobby bath sink if I needed to. We had planned to stay two days but Bill decided lets pack up and move on. At check out we had to ask for some kind of consideration for the inconvenience. The girl at the desk was given permission to take $ 25.00 off of our room rate and also gave us 250 bonus points. The owner or GM Mr. Patel looked mad but did say he was sorry for the trouble. It was at least an effort. The room rate was $ 144.00 a night which isn’t cheap or out of the range as long as you had a great stay. So the $ 25.00 off the bill was a step in the right direction. Breakfast was the typical chain product served that is pre cooked and they heat it up and serve. We just had a yogurt, OJ and coffee because there are several wonderful places downtown for breakfast. I would give this another shot if we hit Brenham again soon. It wasn’t a bad experience but not as good as most I have with the chain.

Not in love with this place. Room/hotel has an odor. Breakfast isn’t great and the pillows are not comfortable. Small gym with some broken equipment. When I say breakfast isn’t great… I mean, the pancakes were rubbery(auto pancake dispenser looks cool, but what comes out is thin and chewy). Biscuits were hard. About the only thing edible was the bagel. If you must stay here, plan to eat out. I don’t normally have allergies. I did here, only when *in* the hotel. I don’t think I’ll book here again.

We stayed here for a wedding. So we had three rooms. Everything was very clean and service was good. Breakfast was ok but I’m kinda of a breakfast snob. Would stay here again
