Stayed here last weekend for our one year wedding anniversary. Peaceful and the property is beautiful. I highly recommend to come for a place and relaxation. PS the food was great. Defiantly returning.

My Husband and I stayed here last weekend for our first anniversary. The grounds were so beautiful and calm. We really enjoyed how quiet it was. We only stayed one night, but we were able to cook in the outdoor kitchen and we enjoyed the hot tub. Our fireplace wasn’t lighting and we called for help and they came right away and had it working in no time! We went to breakfast in the morning and I loved the food! Overall, our experience was positive and we will definitely be coming back!

First visited about 5 years ago. Second visit was even better as the plants around the property had matured giving you the feeling that you were out in the country instead of a town of over 15,000. We stayed in the Pool House Suite #1 which has a small butler’s pantry(frig and microwave), shower and jacuzzi in room tub. It also has a flat screen TV and an electric fireplace. The room was spotless when we arrived and there were a few nice touches including an umbrella and a flashlight. The pool was clean and we enjoyed sitting by it as well as hanging out in the outdoor kitchen. The only thing I would add would be a small coffee/tea maker in the room. I know that coffee and tea is served in the main house starting at 7 am but if you’re like me and not a morning person, than you need a cup of coffee just to b able to wake up and get to the main house!

As with the previous reviewer, we did the same thing. Planned a last minute trip during Mother’s Day weekend and stayed in the Pool House Suite 1. We visited a couple of wineries the first day that we were not impressed with and during breakfast the next day the owner recommended the winery we have fallen in love with — Saddlehorn. The B & B was gorgeous. Very clean and was not overpriced although you would think that it would have been for more. It was very quiet and romantic. Close to everything. As mentioned, breakfast was home cooked by the owner himself. Would most definitely visit again when in the area.

We decided to get out of Houston spend a weekend tasting Texas wines on the Bluebonnet Wine and Cheese Trail and needed a place to land on Saturday night. A quick Internet search yielded many options, but this one stood out. It did not disappoint! The building is a lovingly restored historic home — not restored in that fussy country kitschy way, but tastefully and restrained. The rooms are pleasant and comfortable, and very clean. The grounds are very well maintained. It felt a bit like a sanctuary with wonderful landscaping. There are several small patios and covered areas for quiet time for conversation or reading or watching the big game on the strategically placed televisions. We were only here for a quick overnight, but the pool area and the extensive outdoor kitchen area would make it terrific for a longer stay — maybe a great place for a group reunion. Breakfast was hearty and enjoyable but the star was definitely the house and grounds. We will certainly be back.
