Apparently Farmer Boys is now so successful, they no longer want any business. Is it too much trouble to ask the crew person who’s taking an order to PAYATTENTION to the person placing the order? Apparently so, because her conversation with the other crew members was much too important to wait 3 seconds for me to start talking before turning away to babble to someone else in the kitchen. NEVERAGAIN. And, yes I will tell EVERYONE I know to stay away from this sorry excuse for a restaurant.

Just started a job around the corner from this Farmer Boys, and since the one near where I live closed some years back, I decided to come in. This review is for 2 mealtimes: breakfast & lunch. Okay, so my breakfast was just toast & coffee(wasn’t too hungry). That being said, the coffee was okay for not being a coffee house type of place, but the«toast» was not toasted. I ordered rye bread, and that’s what I got — rye bread with light brown marks — NOT toasted! Very disappointing. Guess if I ever get it again, I will need to stress the word«toast»! Lunch: I ate in and had the Farmer’s Chopped Cobb. The salad itself was good, not quite as pretty as the picture, but a large portion. The bacon was chopped too small though, like bacon bits, and was a tad too crisp — like they used overdone bacon for the salad(and I like crisp bacon). Chicken was good, not dry at all but could use more seasoning. But the disappointment was the dressing. I ordered Bleu cheese, and it was extremely watery, no chunks of cheese at all! I thought it was ranch at first, but it was Bleu cheese. Once it was poured on the salad, you couldn’t taste it. Just made the salad wet. Yuck! Will definitely try something different next time. So, only 3 stars because of not toasted toast & watery dressing. Would have been 2, but the décor is really cute & homey, and it was nice & clean, too, so I added a star.

This is a full service restaurant with a drive through. That being said, if you do brave the drive through, bring your patience and shut off your engine as each order is cooked fresh. As for the burgers, I got the cheeseburger combo special. They tout their buns as being fresh and you can definitely taste it. But look at my photos and see that the bun to burger ratio favors the bun and all the fresh produce more than the meat. Do yourself a favor and order a bigger patty or more patties. The meat, itself, isn’t overly dry and has a good char. Nothing on the burger was overly done: the salt and seasonings were just right as were the condiments. Nothing was oozing out or spilling all over the place. The onion rings were simply ridiculous! You get only about 4 or 5, but they’re huge!!! Look at the pics to see what I mean. They’re sweet, like Maui onions, with no harsh taste or bite. I gave the whole meal my 2 year old kid test and he ate almost ¼ or the burger and liked the onion ring coating, so we are definitely going back for a kids«cheese-burber»… I also got a pancake breakfast. Nothing special here, but it was flavorful with good buttery taste on the cakes, but I still missed the extra pats of butter you get when dining in. The bacon was crisp, the way I like it and the scrambled eggs again met with my 2 year old’s approval. Everything traveled nicely and stayed warm for the drive home.

Had always been curious about this place as I drive by it often. I stopped in, a few elderly customers hanging out and I got in line behind one other person and they took forever getting his order. I stepped up, the staff would not even look at me. There were a bunch of them and they talked to each other and to people in the back, but not to me. Food was stacked up on the pass. No one paid attention to that either. Most kept their back to me. I waited for a bit and then left in disgust. The service here is horrible.

I know, you must be like, Wtf, you are writing a review for farmer boys… Well you know what?! I don’t see farmer boys in Seattle, and this place as fast food restaurant just WOAH me, ok? The service was friendly and I actually like the menu here. I ordered a cobb salad and«the natural», 1⁄3 lbs burger with cheese. To my surprise, I was asked what I want in my burger… I thought lettuce and tomato is the standard, but apparently I can also sub with things like olives between the buns(vomit…). Here is to my surprise, with my number on my table, my food was«delivered» to me vs calling my number to the counter. Not only that, I got a real knife and fork for my salad instead of the plastic ones. What is this sorcery?!! Then after I was done eating, they came by to collect my disposables, no self trash burying business. I even got a «have a nice day» on my way out. This is way better than Disney’s «have a magical day.» Totally impressed and I hope you feel the same way. Farmer boys, you are doing it right.

The only thing I every eat here is their breakfast and especially their breakfast burritos. Overall Farmer boys does a great job with their breakfast but this location has a service issue. Service is slow and their staff doesn’t really seem to care. Very disappointing because I would probably eat here weekly if they had a decent people that cared.

Normally Farmer Boys has delicious food. However this location sucks. My food was horrible. I don’t know where to start. It tasted so bland. A little salt + pepper would have helped a lot. My chicken sandwich tasted like it had just been boiled in water. Then quickly seared to give it the effect that it was«charbroiled.» It was so watery I forced myself to eat. Wish I hadn’t. The fries were ok. A little soggy and needed more salt. The drink. lol what a battle! There was so much ice in there it took me like 20 seconds to reach the bottom after hammering my straw though. Seriously. Next time can I have some drink with my ice? Overall for a $ 11 meal I would have expected better. A lot better. I doubt I’ll be going back anytime soon if ever again.

How do you serve food to go in a broken container?! Maybe they thought I wouldn’t notice my food would fall through once taken out of the bag. They also assured me they gave me everything, and being in a rush I trusted them… Only to realize they forgot my drink. I would go back if I wasn’t so far away. What a disappointment Farmer Boys. Just disappointed today.

I simply love this place! It’s food is great and the service is awesome. I wish I could say the same for the Fullerton location but that would be a lie.

How do you screw up a breakfast burrito? By leaving out the meat and loading with potato hash browns. Smh…7.00 for egg and potatoes.

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – ESSENTIALTIPS&EXECUTIVESUMMARY: — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – # This spot is just okay, but you’re really not getting your money’s worth here compared to your local breakfast or burger shop that do breakfast burritos and the like # I will increase my ratings in the future if I feel that they improve on my next visit. 3 for alright food minus 1 because value does not correspond # So it’s breakfast time. What do I get? A breakfast burrito. How much? $ 5. Impressive? No. Kinda small? Yes. Acceptable? No. Sounds my value-ratio alarm? Yes. I got the breakfast burrito with sausage. Not that it really matters. I couldn’t believe I paid $ 5 for a small burrito that just tasted okay. # Don’t be fooled by this whole«fresh from the farm» branding and imagery. It’s silly. Nearly all of the restaurants we visit buy ingredients from the same farms… the same industrial farms, commercial animal feeding operations(CAFOs), and large food corporations. If you look at the brands Farmer Boys proudly display, you’ll see they’re all large food companies. None of their products are from your local, small-scale, organic farmer. The real Farmer John is dead folks, he’s a mechanical cyborg today. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – MYEXPERIENCE: — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – When I went through the drive-through, I was the only one there and it took 12 minutes for me to get my single breakfast burrito. Huh? 12 minutes when there’s no line early in the morning before 9AM? I don’t get it. I did like that my burrito wasn’t dripping in oil and had a clean taste. However, that doesn’t excuse the lack of value. I liked the eggs inside, but really wish there was more meat. Oh and did I say I wish it was bigger?

Ordered the Wednesday special, bacon cheeseburger combo 7.99 plus tax was charged 8.94 after tax. Took 15 minutes to get food when it only took 5 minutes to make it. Apparently 1:45pm is shift change and no one cares to look at the orders ready to go out. Usally I go in during the lunch rush at 1, 4 – 5 times a week and it’s never taken longer then 5 minutes to get my food. It may have been a day where they slipped a little but with only a half hour break I won’t take the chance of going here again.

This place is great, don’t let the stars fool you I was a little hesitant at first considering the low ratings. However, I finally paid a visit after being convinced by my coworkers. Upon arrival, I was quickly greeted by the cashiers. I studied the menu for a long while and made a decision to order the Sourdough Chicken Avocado Sandwich. Best decision of my life! :) The sandwich was cut in half in triangles just like how I like ‘em. The sourdough was chewy unlike other sourdough out there. The chicken was perfectly grilled and JUICY. The lettuce was fresh and of course the avocado made this sammich perfect. My only complaint is that just the sandwich alone was $ 7 ish. That’s a price of a meal with fries + a drink at other food joints. Regardless, I would still come back for this sandwich and will try other stuff on the menu. Quality over Quantity!

I’m really surprised that this place has only 2.5 stars… I gave always been very satisfied with anything that I have tried here. The fried zucchini of the onion rings are all winners. They use a cornmeal crust that differentiates them from the other guys that use a batter or bear batter style. The result is a crust that is not quite so thick as those, but still with an excellent crunch! And I think that their shakes are excellent as well! So, all in all, I think it should rate higher than it does, good solid fare, at a reasonable price. Great portion sizes so you’re not going to leave hungry. What more can you ask for?

It seems to me that fast food isn’t really covered on my blog enough. For the sake of just having it on record, we can all agree that In-N-Out is the best fast food around, and possibly the best burger for your buck. Now, when it comes to burgers, and you want freshly made burgers that are genuine, Farmer Boys is a good start. Having only one location in Downtown Los Angeles, the majority of Farmer Boys are in the east of Los Angeles and Orange County. The experience was unique and a tasty one. Their burgers are awesome. The simple nature of the double cheeseburger gave this a familiar and comforting feeling. Nothing pretentious, nothing out of the norm — I was just bread, meat, cheese, and lettuce and tomato. I tasted each and every ingredient perfectly. It is one of the cleanest cheeseburgers I’ve had in a while. Sometimes, a man’s gatta have bacon. Tis’ the reason I ordered the bacon double cheeseburger. Perfect and simple just like the double cheeseburger, but with 2 unassuming slices of bacon. It gave the cheeseburger the extra saltiness and taste. I mean, it’s bacon. It is welcomed into my house any time of day. The Chili cheese fries on the side was a must. The fries were pretty standard and the chili was better than expected. Eating this with the cheeseburger was an amazing mixture — Classic and delicious. Farmer Boys gatta get their game up and make some more locations here in Los Angeles. Though they may not be worth the drive 10 miles east, or for the one in downtown, they are a good alternative of the fast food burger. Every ingredient is so pronounced and great on it’s own. You will never see them start creating wraps or some kind of crazy tortilla taco burger — no funny business here. Everything is classic Americana. Farmer Boys is quite underrated as a fast food joint. I don’t usually blog about fast food joints, but when I do, it’s Farmer Boys.
