Been wanting to try this place out since I was in high school(a good 5 – 6 years ago) but I never got around to it and then completely forgot about it. Recently I was looking up places to get breakfast and this popped up. I’m so glad I came to try because it is SO good. I am an avid bagel lover so this was like heaven. My favorite is the toasted everything bagel with cream cheese. Super basic but super good. I also tried their bacon, egg, and brie on an everything bagel and that was amazing as well. They put in slices of green apple in it to compliment the brie and even though it sounds weird, it’s very good.

The best garlic bagels around and generally the staff is pretty friendly. The coffee is okay but nothing spectacular. Sometimes the line is super long particularly on weekend mornings, but it moves pretty efficiently. Very generous on the amount of cream cheese they put on their bagels.

OK — So this morning 9am my boss and I went in and ordered the Bruegger’s Bundle«I think that’s the name» which according to the menu board included 13 bagels and 2 containers of cream cheese. There was a sign posted that stated the following«Sorry, due to problems with suppliers, not all items are available». —– Stay with me… So we get to the register and pay! My boss noticed the cream cheese was missing from our BAG of 13 bagels [should be boxed]. The cashier tells us «You did not order cream cheese»!!! and I told her«yes! as, it comes with the bundle according to your menu». Then the other gentleman that took our order stated«oh! I did not charge you for the cream cheese». We stated«ok — then please charge us…, because we would like cream cheese with the 13 bagels». Her response… «WEAREALLOUTOFCREAMCHEESE» :| {dead} Now — I completely understand the concept of «we ran out» HOWEVER, when you specialize in bagels it should be a criminal act to run out of cream cheese… IJS The fact that we were in the store over 15 mins and no one bothered to tell us there was no cream cheese(which should have been included) is wrong and irritating! The employees saw nothing wrong with letting us leave without something we clearly ordered and they knowing didn’t include. How many other customers left thinking they had it in the bag? When brought to their attention we had to go in a huge circle to get to the point of them simply not having any! This is deceitful! The bagels are ok for the price — $$$$ That is why they got a star The service sucks There was no manager on duty And for a business to run out of 14 types of cream cheeses, I think they may need new management!

Good hot fresh bagels, good bagel sandwiches for breakfast, wonderful spreads and considering how busy they can get, they got you out pretty fast. Be mindful, weekend morning the line can go out the door. Very tasty and worth the wait!

I usually just go by Coffee Bean but I had some extra time to kill so I thought I’d finally try this place. I went at 9:30& they were busy but had fast service. The staff was friendly, even though I took forever to order. I got an egg & cheese bagel on Honey Wheat(they don’t make a sun-dried tomato which is my favorite) the filling was thin but the bagel was delicious! It was fresh, soft, & perfectly toasted. They also had French Toast coffee that had a maple flavor. $ 6 for a quick breakfast isn’t ideal but I’ll definitely be back — at least for that French Toast coffee

OKay Bagels. They arent the best and they arent the worst… I only go here since it is near my work and they are open early in the morning. it is more of a convenience factor than preference of bagel. Ive had better bagels at other bagel chains(Noah’s /Einstein bros). The bagels here are smaller than those chains and cost just as much. Also they often burn my bagels too much when they toast them.

Great bagels! Fresh & tasty! Free bagels! Haven’t tried other food bagels. They open at 5:30 which is great! Great for the office and you’re in & out quickly!

These are the best bagels on the west coast. I have been ordering the sun-dried tomato bagel with jalapeño cream cheese for about 15 years. And every time I introduce someone to Bruegger’s with that bagel, they instantly fall in love. Now, I come in and they decided to stop making sun-dried tomato?!? I was in shock. I was here last week and who knew that would be my encounter with my favorite bagel of all time. This is a horrible decision Bruegger’s!!! Bring back the sun-dried tomato bagel!!! I give it four stars because their bagels are still wonderful but without the sun-dried tomato it’s not 5 stars.

Used to love coming here. They’ve now reduced their portion sizes on fillings. I ordered my usual smoked salmon sandwich. It literally had 3 thin slices of salmon on it. I asked the guy if he can put extra on it. He said he’d need to charge an extra $ 3.50! very sad. not to be expected on the bagel that’s over seven dollars. Won’t be coming again.

I’d give 5 stars for the quality of the food(I like bagels), but I’m only giving 2 stars because they ALWAYS get my order wrong unless I’m ordering something super simple like a plain bagel + spread, and the employees are kinda unfriendly. You could get this quality of food at another bagel place and leave feeling a lot happier. I usually ask for an Everything bagel w/tomato, onion, cheese, bacon + garlic spread and I know that’s a kinda complicated order, so I make sure to enunciate clearly and I wait in front of the glass partition to make sure they get all the ingredients. But some times, on busy days, they ask me to move ahead to the cash register to pay, and I do … only to find that they miss out on the rest of my order. Once, the guy even charged my card for two bagels when I only got one. When I realized he made this mistake, he just shoved some dollar bills back in my hand and yelled at his co-worker(no apology to me). The $ he gave me didn’t even cover the extra money I spent… wtf? Anyways, this place is a convenient stop for me but when I do go here, I just get a regular bagel and that’s it. Can’t trust them with my orders & not willing to spend so much $ on a wrong order.

This place has a great variety of bagels and spreads. It’s like Subway but for bagels. The bagels are always fresh and tasty! Yuuum!

Our go to bagel spot after church. Delicious bagels if your with your girl and she wants nectar. The only downer to this store is the staff they are not too friendly and are constantly having employees come and go. Would be nice if they remembered our faces since we come in like clock work…

My daughter and I usually go to Avalon but they were particularly crowded so we decided to try here. The service was very friendly and the establishment very clean. But our bagels, which were a plain bagel with plain cream cheese and an onion bagel with jalapeño cream cheese, weren’t that great. We ordered them toasted and they were actually burnt.

I usually don’t go out for bagels but I signed up for their e-news letter & received a free bagel & cream cheese coupon so… why not! My boyfriend also got the same coupon for his birthday. They have a ton of bagels and cream cheese to choose from. We were a bit confused at first but you order your food first then pay at the register after. I ordered the blueberry bagel with honey walnut cream cheese while my boyfriend got their cinnamon raisin bagel with honey walnut cream cheese as well. It’s pretty hard to mess up a bagel with cream cheese so no complaints here. The cream cheese was absolutely delicious-I loved the tiny pieces of walnut in it. They have plenty of seats inside and outside as well so you can either enjoy your food there or take it to go.

ITSLIKE A SUBWAYFORBAGELSANDWICHES! I’ve never been to a place like this before and I love this concept of customizable bagel sandwiches. I was surprised by the different variety of bagels you can choose from. I got the Smoked Salmon bagel sandwich on a Whole Wheat bagel(haha, I tried to be healthy) and no tomatoes. It was BOMBDOTCOM. I’d say it’s worth the 8 bucks for the smoked salmon. Maybe not all the time because it is a smaller sandwich than I expected. I also got a Pumpernickel bagel on the side with cream cheese. Delish! I can’t wait to come here and get more breakfast bagel sandwiches! The lady who made my sandwich was also friendly

Free bagel and cream cheese coupon from OC register, that’s why we came to try this place. Saturday morning crowd with the long line. Probably need to rethink how to decongest the line to be more efficient. Toasted Bagels with strawberry cream cheese was good n the lox sandwich was excellent. The lox didn’t have the dark red stain to it. Serve yourself drink counter.

I’ve been eating Brueggers for 20 yrs, first on the East Coast and they have great potential. BUT, this location serves shoddy misshapen poorly cooked bagels more often than is acceptable. They are also WAY understaffed on weekend. This morning my everything bagel could be better characterized as a gummy nothing bagel — it was nearly naked! Too bad. No wonder the ad & coupon campaign is so big right now, with such a quality lapse you’ve got to drag folks back in, but this product won’t keep us returning.

This place has really fast friendly service and plenty of choices for any palette. But what I really enjoyed Is the patience the staff has here. About 20 mins ago I was behind a very rude woman who obviously doesn’t know that people aren’t perfect. Sometimes humans make mistakes. One of the staff accidentally forgot a sandwich and didn’t charge her either for the extra sandwich so simple fix: make the sandwich and charge her. Shouldn’t be a big deal. I watched them whip out that sandwich in literal seconds, she didn’t have to wait at all, but she just decided to be a HUGE you know what about it. I even almost said something. But the staff remained very calm, very courteous, and for that this place has my respect. Thanks for the good food, coffee, and kind attitudes!

wow. LOXBAGEL Sometimes, just sometimes… all you need in life is some quality salmon, fresh tomato and red onion, capers and cream cheese on a nice bagel… If it weren’t for the whole«kosher thing» I’d consider Judaism just for this bagel. Oy vey.

Bruegger’s is different because they are fresh The competition chains — Einstein Bros and Noah’s NY bagels make their dough in a warehouse, freeze it then ship it across the country. If you would rather have a nice fresh bagel that was boiled then baked in small batches in a hearth stone oven… So yourself a favor and skipity hop down to Bruegger’s It is impressive how fresh their food tastes. The deli meat is top quality as well as the other fixings.

I try to stay loyal to Mom and Pop places. Problem is there aren’t many Mom and Popstein places in the OC. I’ve avoided Brueggers for a long time now because they are a chain. But living in a land where most bagels aren’t made correctly, I gave in today and walked into a starbucks looking bagel joint. Hanging my head in shame, I first noticed pumpernickel bagels out of the corner of my eye. I didn’t think those were allowed west of the Mississippi river, hmm maybe I’ve been wrong about this place. Then I look at the menu which looks like a Corner Bakery menu. Egg and Spinach on a what? Ok, there’s a traditional Lox, Cream Cheese, with tomatoes and red onion. 1 of those on an everything, should do the trick. However I do ignore my first instinct and also pick one of their goyim bagel sandwiches so I can actually write a fair review of an egg sandwich. And of course one pumpernickel with chive cream cheese, not toasted because they are fresh right? No need to ever toast a fresh bagel. Lets get the bad out of the way. It’s a no go on the egg sandwiches for me. These are some kind of pre made egg patty that’s coming out of a steamer. Yuck. Both the egg and the sausage patty look like a rubbery fake processed something or other. The slice of red pepper was fresh enough and the cheddar cheese melted ok. This was topped off with sriracha sauce, which I assumed would actually be a sauce of some kind and not just plain sriracha out of a rooster bottle. If you are craving an egg sandwich, there are plenty of other bagel places that actually scramble up a real egg in a pan. 2 stars. Now the good thing is the bagel itself. Which is the main reason for coming to a bagel place. They are firm on the outside, soft inside. They have the right texture and is the best bagel I’ve had in SoCal. The everything bagel had plenty of seasonings and was very fresh. The pumpernickel — ah thank goodness. It’s not the best pumpernickel I’ve ever had, but that’s like nitpicking about water in the desert. It’s definitely adequate. The chive cream cheese was pretty decent as well, but nothing too amazing. 4 stars The Lox sandwich I also got on an everything bagel. It was about what I expected for the $ 7.50 price. It’s not on the level of a fine Jewish Deli, but better than most of your typical SoCal Bagel joints, which tend to be on the salty fishy side. Tomato and red onion was nice and fresh and once again the cream cheese was pretty good. 3.5 stars I hate to say it, but this chain is going to be my bagel place now, but I’ll be keeping it simple with bagels and cream cheese. If I crave some kind of breakfast sandwich, well we have many good breakfast burrito spots for that kind of thing.

I really wish that I had a Brueggers Bagel near me. I have been wanting to try this place for quite some time and every location is a bit away from me. I saw it when I went to Coronado, but the last time that I went there, there was a major accident on the way and ran me late for what I needed to be there for, so I missed it. There is a location near work that I get to at around 2:50 and they close at 3:00 so I figure there won’t be much left, and I don’t really want a bagel at 3:00. So, when I was off work for the July holiday, the day after, I drove all the way to Brea to try one. I was glad that I did, but I was also not glad because again I don’t have one near me! I had a sesame bagel with garden veggie cream cheese. They toasted it perfectly, they put a big heaping amount of cream cheese on it and that made me very happy. Every bite was delicious. I also ordered an iced mocha, which is pretty typical of me. It was one of the better ones that I have had. Two days later I went back already. I believe I just had a plain bagel with regular cream cheese that day. It was also delicious. The choices of bagels and cream cheeses seem endless, which makes me want one near me that much more. I have not been here since July but I hope to go to one again soon.
