(Note that the store has moved to Pearl St at 15th) Mont Bell is a major Japanese brand and we’re lucky to have one of their stores in Boulder — there are very very few stores in the US. I’ve always found this store to be well staffed — actually more staff than customers is what I often see, which is a shame. I’ll skip my comments about the products themselves — but I do own a huge down puffie and a ‘nano’ size synthetic puffy. If you’re looking for technical wear, I was pretty impressed with what they have to offer. If you are looking for good quality casual use wear, this place is really expensive, but I think you get a quality product. Seems like they offer fewer ‘urban’ choices, but I think you’ll find useful puffies and shells. They also have a useful selection of backpacking gear, camping gear, and general outdoor stuff. Upstairs you’lll find lots of random things on sale. They have a bookshelf up there with various guides. There’s a climbing gear counter with popular versions of the must-have gear — GriGri, ATCs, etc. I can recommend stopping here if you’re shopping around and stopping at REI, Patagonia, GoLite, etc…
