Wayne Public Golf Course

The rating is for the course. All in all it’s worth the price, the fairways are like concrete and there is no rough. The greens have some dry spots but for a quick 9 holes they work. Played 18 last week, wont do that again as the back 9 are shot. Played the front 9 this week and will probably keep coming back. I’m not an accomplished golfer at all and for the price, I can’t play anywhere else that I know of. The burgers are great, the beer is cold and the staff is friendly.
I was disappointed that my 17 year old son was not aloud to drive his own cart, kind of dumb but I was told he had to be 21.

Crummy in all the right ways. I guess that if they can play a US Open on the ugliness of an old quarry, you can play this oddball little course that serves up big challenges.
An uphill walk on the first nine will keep you going and there are two nice payoff holes on the back nine. More challenging than you would expect. Do yourself a favor and walk. Cindy is very sweet at the kitchen and makes a mean McWayne breakfast sandwich.

Finally made it over for Wayne in search of some cheap, interesting golf. We sure got it. The course is very cheap and for good reason, the greens aren’t very luxurious and the quality could be vastly improved.
That being said, it is actually kind of fun. I highly recommend a cart because there are some ridiculous hills and the walking would be strenuous. The holes are an intense challenge, with plenty of water hazards and tight shots especially on the back nine. The tee off areas are my biggest complaint, they replace turf for ground because of how dry and hard it is to place a tee in. It looks tacky and isn’t fun to tee off of.
The twilight started at 5pm and was only $ 15 so it was a value worth the price. The cart rental wasn’t bad either, but the carts have to be back by 7 making it impossible to get through all 18. We walked the back nine till the sun was gone and returned to an empty lot. Overall it was a good time out with the guys, we enjoyed the challenge, but won’t be rushing back anytime soon for the quality.

Wayne is a fun Par 65 18 hole course. The course is in good shape and the greens are well maintained. It has a few challenging holes and gets really tight on the back 9. Overall I had a good time. Oh, a side bonus is that I played on a Sunny Friday at 10:30am and finished in 3 hours. I’ve never had that happen on a public course!

Wayne gets a solid 3 stars for being true to itself. I have played 18 here once, but will only play the front nine moving forward unless some serious maintenance is done on the back nine. (Its pretty rough back there.)
However, the front nine has a solid layout and is well maintained. People badmouth the course, but you get what you pay for. If you are «above» the quality of this course, then go somewhere else. This is the perfect neighborhood public course to quickly hit the links and get home in a very reasonable amount of time and a reasonable amount of money. The maintenance crew, the desk workers, and the lovely restaurant/​bar server are all very nice and helpful. The BURGER was surprisingly tasty and the BEER is reasonably priced. Its a good pitstop from the bike trail even if you aren’t golfing that day!
Good front nine. Good location. Good food. Available tee times. No online reservations, so give them a call to reserve.

If you give this course 5 stars then you obviously either have low standards and/​or you have never played a 5 star course. I suppose if you were to rate this course among other sub $ 30 per round courses it might be worth a 3.5 star rating. Still — this ain’t no 5 star. Not by a long shot.
If you are looking for a cheap round of golf you will find it here and you get what you pay for. The layout of this course is bizarre to say the least, especially the back 9. Many tee boxes are nothing more than beat up rubber mats. Three greens on the back all converge in the same spot near the «tee boxes» of other holes and with the many inexperienced golfers here it does feel like you are placing your life in their hands with balls flying at you unexpectedly.
A couple of shirtless thugs did not take kindly to my polite request that they put their shirts back on. First time on a golf corse that I wished I was armed with more than my clubs. You would never see this behavior on a $ 40+ per round course with at least one acting marshall on duty. My guess is that many players here don’t know what the G in golf stands for. That’s not to say this course is not without it’s charm, you just have to be willing to overlook its obvious flaws.
The fairways are pretty beat up, the tee boxes are pathetic, many of the holes are tight not by design but simply due to the expense involved in making this mountainous terrain work as a golf course. Don’t try to walk the course unless you are in fairly good physical condition. There are many steep hills with loose gravel so keep your wits about you (avoid alcohol and other intoxicants while on this course).
Compared to decent courses like Echo Falls, Redmond Ridge, etc. this course is a dog track. With no Marshall on duty you have to put up with the occasional drunken hillbilly idiots and disrespectful punks on your own. The staff is nice enough and the restaurant has a simple hole in the wall comfort that can be enjoyable given the right circumstances.
All that said, it’s cheap and not very busy so you can get on the course. A bad day on the golf course is still better than many alternatives. Some of the holes on the front 9 are quite scenic. The river and homes add to the charm. Now that I know what to expect I may play here again as a last resort. I’ll just remember pack the pepper spray.
If you can get on anywhere else — do. If not, I suppose you could do worse than here, if you can imagine.

Great place, affordable with rentals and golf carts. Family like run small place with a little restaurant. Bathrooms could be nicer but the golf course was fun and challenging. We had a great time.

After golfing at Wayne, I would consider going again sometime. The front nine was decent, a little confusing with the hole arrangement as my son and I had to consistently look at the map of the course to figure out where the hole was. On the 2^nd hole, when I was about to tee-​off a couple guys from another hole were walking on the fairway right where I was aiming for. On one of the other holes, I believe it was a par four. On my second shot I was in really good position and couldn’t figure out where the green was. I took my shot and ended up bogeying because the hole was in a totally different location. The back 9 was tricky, mainly because it was all the way across the river and we had to walk along a path to get to it. Almost all the holes were par 3’s and running downhill on the back 9. It felt like the holes were all right next to each together and it was difficult to find which hole you were aiming at. Overall, not a terrible experience and would probably go again. EXCELLENT burgers in the clubhouse though, would highly recommend those if golfing at Wayne.

I have no clue how people are giving this 4 stars. I felt like I was on mount Si hiking rather than a golf course. All other courses were booked (father’s day) so we had to settle for Wayne, and now I see why they had openings.
Front nine wasn’t as bad as the back. They must have ran out of room and smashed five holes in one small space. We ended up dodging balls from other holes more than hitting our own. Very steep hills, very confusing layout (good luck finding the 10^th hole), and very unorganized. Spent $ 26 on the round and then $ 20 on the dang chili dogs after… Huge waste, won’t be back. Cough up $ 10 more and play somewhere decent.

I am a beginner and after research this seemed like a good place to break in my first 18 hole experience. I have done several 9 hole courses and felt I had graduated to 18, but wanted to dive in with a forgiving course. This place was a great mix of longer holes and short holes (esp back 9). The setting of the course is also really beautiful. Woodsy and creek running through course make nice setting. There are also some quite challenging holes with hard slopes.
A lot of people complained about the back 9 being tight and short. But those holes are also challenging. They are tight, and not much fairway between the green, making the stakes pretty high to get your first shot on the green!
The longer holes are wider for the most part which is nice for a beginner. If you get a bit of a hook, you can still play it.
It is March, and rain has hit for a while now, so the fairways have a mud factor, but it actually isn’t too bad after first couple holes. I have also seen other courses in the same state. It’ll dry out in coming months and be great. I’ll be back!

Great little course! On a trip to Seattle to attend a family wedding, what we didn’t realize was that it’s like Golf Appreciation weekend in Seattle and courses are booked up solid. So after tireless efforts from the bro in law we got lucky to find this little gem at twilight.
The course wasn’t in the greatest of conditions fairway wise, however, the greens were flawless. I love the technical play that Washington mountain golf provides. Plenty of elevation changes and off camber landing areas really provide a test to hitting fairways and greens.
Granted this wasn’t our first, second or third choice of course. But it did provide us a chance to go out and play. Wayne was a great course to tune your irons and work the ball both ways off the tee boxes.

The price is right, and its a great place to get out when a nice day finds its way into the mix. Easy enough to get a tee time or even walk on at the last minute. A great practice course to knock the dust off or to warm up for a weekend match, but don’t expect to be greeted with with some of the more usual course amenities.
The front nine is a lot of fun hitting onto some open fairways, with some room for a couple well placed golf shots using varying elevations and some interesting green placement. While the back nine (while fun in its own way) is a jumbled mess of par 3’s where hitting off mats is the norm.
All together I have had a great time playing at Wayne, and am happy to have it close to home to get a round in anytime. A friendly staff, and relaxed pace of play, makes it a great course for beginners/​high-​handicappers and families.

Despite my profile pictue I am not much of a golfer. This course is the closest to my house by far. Less than two miles. I have played it once and found it to be a fun and playable course for a beginning player. The practice putting green is incredibly bad though, every putt must be uphill or downhill. Very unrealistic. But the best part of this course is the staff. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgale about their course.

Beginners course super short. Driving over greens on par fours. Makes you feel good though. Price was $ 25.50 with a cart so four stars for pricing. Great staff

A cheap place to play and for a public course of this caliber you can’t go wrong. Rather short in length this course tries to make things more challenging by making the greens smaller and the use of the river that runs through it.
The back 9 is really short as is most of the course but to me the back nine is worth noting because at times it feels like you are right on top of the group in front of you. But for the price, you can learn to live with it.
Not the greatest place to play in the Spring, the fairways get really muddy on the front 9.
A nice scenic executive course this place is a good starting point for the golf newbie or Jr. players.
